We needed a room with a separate bedroom so that we didn't have to go to bed when my toddler went down for the night and this was the best fit. It was nice to have a fridge and microwave, too. Oh, and we had a nice view of the lake! We enjoyed the location and found the parking structure on the local parking app for a great deal. Staff were friendly and the place was clean. I took off one star because the bathtub could use some updating. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I have a family member receiving care at Northwestern Hospital and needed a place to stay for my week long visit. I choose a hotel based on cleanliness, safety, and location, those are always my priorities in a hotel. Homewood Suites was a great option for me since it was right across the street from the hospital. My room was on the 34th floor and it was very clean. The room was really nice with a living room separate from the bedroom, I had a kitchen with full size refrigerator. I wasn't really in the room much, I basically only was there to sleep, the refrigerator was nice because I stocked it with foods from Trader Joe's that is close by. The staff was always friendly and greeted me each day I saw them. The bed was ok it had a pretty worn out mattress with a good dip in the middle. I'm small so it wasn't terrible. If I was with my husband it would've been a problem. The towels and bedding were stiff and scratchy. Breakfast was nice, it's just the basics but it got the job done. One morning there was no breakfast because someone called in sick so we were allowed to go to Hamptons breakfast which is connected to Homewood. Hamptons breakfast was way nicer and I really enjoyed it more. Homewood Suites is a great option if you can get a good rate. I came at a slow time and was able to get my nightly rate under $100. That's a fair rate for this hotel but definitely would not stay here if I had to pay more than that.

Located right in downtown, and a brisk walk for me from Millennium Park, this was my hotel during the vacation part of Chicago 2023. For starters the view was absolutely awesome..38 floors above the city from my bedroom a huge picture window. That's a great view to wake up to on vacation! My king size bed was super comfortable, which was great after intensive walking & sightseeing. The shower also had good water pressure, and liquid body wash instead of bar soap. The closet space was adequate, and the couch comfy enough to recover between adventures. I arrived early from my business hotel in another part of the city, and check-in would have coincided with my tour, so the front desk staff stored my luggage. They even recommended some stores (the suitcase I came with broke) and restaurants within walking distance (Giordano's). That being said, I'm keeping my review at 3 stars for similar reasons to other reviewers. The front desk did miss the two wake up call requests which are convenient to have besides the alarm clock on my phone. The public area / corridors could definitely use an upgrade. And what is up with the no housekeeping? I hate to put my tinfoil hat on and say that the "green" reason they say is an excuse for some pennypinching. Between unpacking, no one wants to see a full wastebasket. Last I checked, I don't get a discounted rate for not calling housekeeping. Also, the free safety razor they give you from the front desk needs an upgrade. Those one-blade safety razors don't give you a good shave, and leave you looking like a certain infamous Chicago resident. They also didn't provide the two bottles of water or snack offering that come with my Hilton Honors membership. Besides the above, due to my itinerary I didn't use a lot of the hotel features like the breakfast and upstairs pool.

This is an awful hotel. Do not stay here. The rooms smelled like stale beer. The carpets were disgusting The elevators did not work so we had to walk up and down 19 floors of stairs The service was marginal at best. Even the public restrooms were nasty Due to the issues getting to and from our room on the morning of checkout, I asked for 30 minutes of additional time for checkout, and they would not grant me a minute of late check out. Stay away from this hotel, there are much nicer cleaner and friendlier options .

This is a very convenient stay to be on Magnificent Mile. It gives you easy access to shops and restaurants on the Mag Mile. Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn are together, so when checking in, it's important to specify which hotel you'll be staying. In my opinion, my room was very nice and comfortable. The rooms have a living area and the bedroom that can be separated by doors. Therefore, if someone is staying on the couch in the living room, then they would not be bothered by anyone in the bedroom. The rooms have a kitchenette with refrigerator, mini electric stove, toaster, Keurig and two pots for cooking. However, the rooms did now have anything for drinking; only two cups that comes with the Keurig. When getting ready to take a shower, I noticed that there was water leaking around the toilet and then noticed that the water was leaking from the ceiling over the shower. I called the front desk, they had an engineer come up immediately. I just asked to be switched to another room. I was switched to a new room immediately. The staff was very nice! I'm giving the hotel three stars because the hallways and parts of the room was somewhat worn down, but besides that the service was good and they serve a pretty decent breakfast. I would consider staying again.

Upon check in a guest was reporting to the front desk that she had been sexually harassed by three male staff members of the hotel. She begged the 5 individuals at the desk to help her but they all ignored her requests. I should have left immediately but had my family with me and it was late with no where else to go in the city. The first room I was provided smelled of smoke and had crumbs on the floor. Upon moving to a different room, I was given a room so filthy we could not have our children sleep in one of the beds. The safe in the room was also locked, containing someone else's belongings. I spent the night looking for other accommodations and informed Hilton customer service I would be checking out in the morning. Upon check out I filled out an incident report and emailed photos of the state of my room- yellow stains on the bed, popcorn and food wrappers in the bed and holes in the sheets- to the manager. A few days later I received a bill for 5 nights plus 5 nights of parking at this hotel. I stayed for just one night. I have spent over two weeks trying to get the charge reversed but the property will not answer corporate calls and hangs up on me when I call. I've wasted countless hours of my life on the phone with this property and Hilton Corporate. I've emailed my photos to three people. I've had to open a dispute with my credit card company. Further, the elevator takes over 25 minutes to come. My husband had to walk down 26 flights of stairs carrying our luggage. Once an elevator came- 28 minutes after pressing the button- there was only standing room for me and my two kids.

I spent a week in Chicago, so I needed a place with a kitchen. I stayed on the 38th floor with a city view, and man was it beautiful! The room seemed a little outdated, but the bed was nice and comfortable. A few convenience stores, stores, and restaurants were within walking distance. One night, we got in and asked the person working the front desk for a roll of toilet paper. Instead of handing it over, they said that someone would deliver it so we gave them our room number. We waited for two hours and still did not receive it, so we called the front, and they told us to just go down and ask for it. I don't think they put that order in. Other than that I couldn't really complain, the staff were very nice. I wouldn't mind coming back.

I have been a Hilton Honors member for over 15 years now. I have always been pleased with any Hilton property i stay at until this time. This time was a disaster right from the beginning. First, we were only allowed to leave our baggage at the front desk at 1pm, we were told there were no rooms available thus no early check in. I will say this is the first time i have been denied early check in at any Hilton property. Second, the room was so small and we had a King suite room. I will NEVER stay at a Homewood Suites again! Only one of our room key cards worked at first so we had to make another trip to the front desk. Which by the way, the front desk staff's helpfulness and attitude left something to be desired. Third, we stayed here for the roof top pool! What a mistake-a trash pool and observation area-don't even bother going to the pool if you have to stay here. i guarantee you will be thoroughly disappointed. Next and probably the worst was the elevator situation. We stayed on the 20th floor (there are 40 floors), and we had to wait 20-45 minutes every single time we left our room for the elevators. The second day we learned a hack from the employees to push up and down and that helped a little with the wait time until one afternoon when we came back to rest i saw a laundry room employee holding one of the elevators with his laundry cart while he went around the floor to give the housekeepers towels. That was very disappointing to see because there are only 3 elevators for 40 floors to begin with! The final straw was breakfast or should i say the lack thereof! On our last day we slept in late so we got to breakfast at 920am at which time we were told Homewood's breakfast was closed and to go to the Hampton Inn's room for breakfast. We did and hardly anything was still out to choose from and eat. Everything that had ran out was empty and we were told would not be replaced. Thank goodness my granddaughter likes waffles because that was basically the only thing left. We had to wait in an unusually long line and to top everything off we got the last cup of batter so no one behind us got breakfast. Then they vacuumed with a loud cleaner right around everyone's table while we were eating---HOW RUDE! And when i tried to grab a spoon before we left about 7 minutes to 10am they had closed the doors and wouldn't let me get a spoon! they advertise breakfast from 7am-10am. So overall this was the very worst experience i have ever had at a Hilton property. I have been home for 6 days and i still felt the need to write this poor review!

Because Homewood Suites was the first brand I every booked for a hotel, I played it safe and did the same. The location is perfect, because everything we wanted to try and visit was within a mile from the hotel. Our room was on the 29th floor out of 36? The elevators are split, so you'll have to use one side if you want to go to floors 1 - 13? and the rest for the other floors. The pool's the deepest I have ever seen, it goes from 5-7 feet deep! I was quite excited, but wish there was a shower room or a hose for guests to wash themselves before jumping in. Also, the towels barely wrapped around me. There's no bars or restaurants in the hotel as well. The most exciting part of the hotel was the fact that I could unlock the door using my phone!! It's the first time for me and I took every opportunity to use it, even though connection was spotty most of the time.
