It had been a while since I had last flown out of O'Hare Airport. I didn't realize how much they had renovated this airport. In particular, this terminal was very white, spacious, sleek, and modern looking! From what I saw, most of the flights here were for international airlines. Somehow, my Southwest domestic flight was from out of this terminal as well. Even though I had just eaten before coming to the airport, I saw that they had plenty of restaurants and quick food options here in this terminal.

Interestingly (for me), our Frontier flight from LAX to ORD went to terminal 5, the same that we've taken many times for Delta. But a big differentiator came out: as a Low Cost Carrier, Frontier pays lower airport fees to O'Hare. One output is that baggage claims takes a long time to enter the carousel, and all incoming flights around the same time gets grouped into the same carousel (even though there are many nearby ones empty). We arrived into O'hare around 11 pm, with 2 other Frontier flights coming in around the same time. We were one of the last ones to arrive at baggage claim, and by this time, every open spot in front of the S-shaped carousel was taken...but the belt wasn't moving. It took about 25 minutes before it started to move. Then we realized that there were two Frontier flights ahead of us, and both were coming to the same carousel: causing three different groups of people to mill around the area and more risk of mistaken luggage. Our 4 bags did come, and relatively together, with the first one coming almost 45 minutes after deplaning. Not good...unless of course you need the longest bathroom break ever. With 4 bags, taking the train to Terminal to catch a regular Uber would have been very difficult, so decided to use Uber Black for the first time (costing over 2 times what a normal one does). They are allowed to pick up in Terminal 5, in the same area as Limo pickup. I learned (the hard way) that this is the inner part of the pick up loop (where taxis are also), not the outer part for private passenger pickup. It's very hectic...even after 1 am. It took about 15 minutes for the driver to come and for us to find him...he was very courteous and patient, and the car was clean and spacious. The drive to our Aunt's was uneventful, and at that time of night, Chicago traffic caused no delays.

Terminal five got a beautiful facelift and they have artwork on the walls with the word welcome many different languages. The floors are spotless and shiny and the lighting is super bright and beautiful. Even a Pop mart kiosk!

I'm not a huge fan of this airport but that's primarily due to the layout. This airport has multiple terminals that are in the round. Food places are pretty spread and I did a lot of walking in between gates. The car rental is off site and you'll need to add at least 10 minutes to your planned trip. TSA wasn't too bad and I was able to make my flight out which is the most important thing.

Terminal 5 has failed thousands of customers today, 5 May. Since it is on the outskirts of the main terminals, you need to take a transit train to get to the other terminals. This is critical, because ride share pickup is only allowed in terminal 2. So it becomes a huge issue when the train is down and there is no way to walk from terminal 5 to terminal 2. So now there is this huge and angry line of a-holes (me included) trying to remain calm while we wait for airport shuttle busses to pick us up at 5E, while the line is all the way down to 5A. And that's what's happening right now. I'm trapped at terminal 5. One of the airport employees just told another customer, "If you can't wait, take a cab to the other terminal." Brutal. This makes we question flying with Delta, just so I can avoid this issue next time.

Had a good experience first time flying in here.Restrooms were clean and plenty of food options.Finding a car rental provider was easy to navigate as well. This time flying in was actually a breeze.

10/18/24 - sitting in Terminal 5 waiting for my flight to Inchon International Airport. There is nothing extraordinary about this terminal, lots of seats a few stores & eateries, but it does a very large volume I of flights. While O'hare is no longer the busiest airport in the world it's or major connections/wthe outside world ORD serve as the major Chicago w/Midway picking up part of the volume. Currently they are building a new Terminal 5 that will eventually serve as the new major international hub.

O'Hare is ridiculous huge! So many people and so little time. Plenty of shops and food to choose from. The workers are kinda helpful. Some may know where things are and some may not. Leaving international borders to the US is more security as before. Have your passport and documents ready!

This is a nice airport/terminal Very clean, very organized, lots of places to hang out and eat/drink and people watch and or shop for souvenirs Easy in and out, no issues whatsoever Employees are nice and efficient Cant wait to comeback

Airport I have not been to / through O'Hare in a while and most of my previous trips were "pass-throughs" to make a connection at another gate. This last time, my trip destination was Chicago, so I had more time to walk the airport and look around. O'Hare is massive to say the least. There are multiple terminals, as would be expected, and it can be easy to get turned around. Signage is very good, but there is also a lot of walking involved. I came and went from terminal 5 and was meeting a coworker over in 3 - so I took the tram. We ended up going back to 5 to pick up another straggler and meeting our Uber driver there for the trip downtown. Tram to connect the terminals was quick, quiet and clean. The airport is very clean and the walkways are big enough to handle the crowds that travel through. Plenty of dining and restroom availability. Security on the way back was well marked and moved at a decent pace - I won't say it was the easiest to breeze through, but certainly not the worst. Overall a good impression with a place that you always hear about but seldom need to actually spend time in.
