I Am Going To Echo The Raving Reviews And Also Say This Place Is Great! The Cocktails Were Delicious, The Shopska Salat Salad Was So Flavorful, And Even The Fries Were Delicious Perfectly Seasoned And Crispy. The Staff Was Super Friendly And Personable. I Definitely Will Be Back Soon For A Full Entree And Another Round Of Drinks!

Rosewood Tavern instantly won me over. The initial warm welcome, the mellow mood and the intentional small menu turned me into a forever patron. I highly recommend the cevapi, with the 10 piece being a full meal. In all actuality, everything on the menu is a must try. The cocktails are consistent, and I appreciate that new beers and ciders are rotated with each new season. We have hosted a few birthday celebrations here and our family and friends look forward to the good times and food with every visit. If you're looking for the perfect, feel like home experience then make sure to add Rosewood to the top of the list.

New favorite place. Charming, pretty and welcoming with fantastic food. First the place is lovely - tasteful, elegant but not fussy decor. Maria, the chef/mom/owner is friendly and warm - she took great care of us while we watched the Bears game at the bar. The Balkan Smashburger was excellent - up there with Au Cheval or Little Bad Wolf's sliders which are my favorite. The Shopska salad was fresh, crisp and flavorful. We over ordered and took the goulash home, it was excellent, hearty and delicious.

There are many taverns on street corners and many in the middle of the street. Many are known, and there are way more that are unknown. On a lonely stretch of Western Avenue with auto repair shops across from Rosehill Cemetery is Rosewood Tavern. You would never know its there - and it is not a tavern, but a bar. Once you find it and walk in, it is a nice bar with a large restaurant space behind it. Maria or her son will greet you. They are from Montenegro, and the menu has Eastern European-inspired dishes such as goulash. We ordered a cocktail, a Schlitz, and some fries. All were good. I like the vibe of this place, and it seems to have staying power. If you visit the park across the street and want a small bite and some beer, come on over. Maria will greet you.

Random location, easy to overlook. Easy street parking, the nicest people. This place was unassuming, had a limited food menu, but everything we ordered was delicious and the prices were reasonable. We'd recommend every dish we ate: Chicken kabobs, Beef goulash, Cevapi. Cevapi is more of an appetizer but we got a half order for our 2yo toddler. The beef goulash came with mashed potatoes and the beef was so tender, it fell apart while you ate it, and yet had the best gravy and flavor. My 2yo loved it, so did I. The cevapi was surprisingly good - we got 5 beef sausages, that were well seasoned and flavored, a little on the salty side but for good reason. When you pair it with the sour cream, the freshly sliced tomatoes, leaves of spinach, and bread, it was a tasty combination. They've got a good variety of beers/drinks, and the bartender/waiter was very knowledgeable on his selection and how to serve them. He was so lovely with our 2yo and provided such great service to us and everyone else in the restaurant. For a Saturday night, it was not packed, but honestly, that's how I like my restaurants these days. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, or just wrapping up the walk in the park across the street.

We went there for an anniversary celebration and were not disappointed. Everyone was pleased with their choices and service was great! The host answered any questions we had and treated us like family. Great family owned and operated restaurant/bar in a good location.

Lovely new bar. Stopped by as I was walking past on a summer Sunday, hoping to find a small bite for breakfast or lunch. Had a smashburger and a San Pellegrino. The burger was great, tender, with a nice and slightly spicy sauce. Prices were quite reasonable for a bar. Even has a fireplace in the back. Very nice place. Met one owner. She was very friendly. Definitely plan to return to this serendipitous find.
