Well let me start by saying I attended this event for free so generally it was fine. But...had I paid for the event I may have been gravely disappointed . First there were not many vendors. The definitely need more food and wine vendors. They also need more activities for patrons while attending. The band was awesome. The free glass was very affordable looking.

Came with a friend with tickets provided through Yelp Elite. It is in Humboldt Park, and we live in Lakeview, so it was a bit of a trek. However, I had a great time trying all the different sangrias. There were several booths with many different flavors, as well as booths with food. They also had live music. It's a fun even when it's a nice day, though they court set up more seating. I enjoyed trying something new and different, and didn't know this was an event that happened yearly in Chicago. I had a great time!

The weather was perfect and chill vibes. Loved that the event was 21+ making it more enjoyable. All the vendors were welcoming and an event that should be attended by everyone. The food was reasonably priced and there were many sangria options for everyone.

Sangria fast was held in Humboldt Park. I was fortunate to win tickets from an Instagram raffle. My tickets included VIP passes for 2. I went on a early Sunday afternoon around 2 PM. We were able to find parking nearby for free. Getting into the sangria fast was easy as we were able to scan our codes from evebtbrite. Upon entering we were given our sangria glasses, VIP identification and 5 samples of sangria off the bat. Once we were further into the festival, it was discovered that VIP identification had our punch card for redeeming drink tickets. There were several vendors and attendants including places to try sangria, beer, Goya products. We did get sample some really good white wine out of Italy from a wine tasting company. In addition to the sangria samples there were food vendors, live musicians and artistic items to purchase. After trying some of the samples we headed over to the VIP area which had its own pre-made bar set up. You could only use your VIP punch cards in the VIP area. Both my husband and I tried several different flavors of sangria. We both agreed that the pear was our favorite. A close second was probably the pomegranated or the mango sangria. Overall we had a good time but it may have been hard to justify the price tag for what you get. Just being in that neighborhood I think the regular admission price should be lower or there should be more samples. The view from the park was fantastic, we were able to see a part of the air and water show.

This was my 4th sangria fest, and I won't be back. Mega YIKES on the power trip of one of the female security staff and DOUBLE YIKES to the attitude of the elderly woman (I'm assuming related to the women who run Sangria Fest). Both women were SO RUDE to multiple attendees, who honestly weren't in the wrong, and were politely asking questions. The fest opened 25 minutes late with zero explanation in 90+ degree heat with that lovely Chicago humidity that we all love. The souvenir glasses have been fun to collect, but I feel like the passion behind this festival has slowly died since the fest's beginning. There used to be so much joy and pep when you first came through the gate, and now it's bad vibes. The staff inside, for the most part, were still amazing (with the exception of the rude tween at the stand with the quesadilla's who pocketed my friend's change - LOL what the heck?). We did get 4 sangria tastings plus 2 full cups of sangria + fruit (the right way to sangria) with the cost of admission, which was nice. There was also a bunch of samples of various things (thimble of yucky coffee, bread with seasoned oil, wine, etc.), and once you collected all of the punches for the samples, you received a discount on Sangria Fest merch (which we didn't purchase, because I was so peeved by the staff in at the front entrance). The entertainment is pretty legit, but bring a chair, portable fan and an umbrella as there aren't any seats, and the only shade is behind the stage. Also, beware of the bees ... one stung my quesadilla ... RIP bee, and RIP $15 cheese quesadilla.

Attended the Sunday session early afternoon but I guess the time to go when things are in full swing would be early afternoon into evening. When we arrived it was pretty empty. We got checked in and got our passes and drink passport. The passport is a great idea but there aren't enough vendors to make the tastings even worthwhile. One of the vendors on the passport wasn't even there so there was no one to actually complete it. There's a few local vendors for shopping and food. We left before the music got into full swing. I'd recommend taking lawn chairs or blankets if you're trying to enjoy. The vip section you could get 1 to 3 glasses of sangria depending on your package. Unfortunately they were super watered down. The sangria when you first entered was delicious and I was expecting that in the Vip section. They had games and stuff to play. Plus an additional cost if you wanted to do sip and paint. It was an okay event for what it was but they could definitely use some improvements or maybe the evening is a lot better.

This was my first year coming out to the Sangria Festival. Thanks to Do312 for my festival passes. We had an absolute amazing time. Everyone was nice and acted accordingly like adults. The music and entertainment was the very best part of this fest. The DJ's got down on both stages with the house music. There were food trucks along the side. I just wish they had more variety of food trucks. There were a few sangria tents set up for you to sample. I would for sure come back to this Sangria Fest. This was so far one of the best fest this year that attended. Great music, tents set up along the lawn, games for you to play, entertainment, food, plenty of drinks and a cigar tent. I had a ball here on yesterday.

This was a fun event- thanks @YelpEliteChicago for the tickets! The tastings were fun, but I thought it was funny that the only sangria on the passport punchcard was a tiny cup right when you walked in (other tastings were mixed drinks and wine, but delicious). They also made an effort to have some things to do; there was a ping pong table and a giant chess set. Next year, I'd bring my own lawn chairs if I wanted to stay for live music (which starts around 3pm and doors opened at noonish, I was sad about that). The music we saw was really fun, wish we could have stayed for more! The price is a tad expensive if I would have bought tickets at the door, but I'll check out the presale price for next year for sure!

Thank you to the Yelp Elite Squad Chicago and the Sangria Festival for the tickets to this event! I wish all Chicago events were like this. A large portion of Humbolt Park was gated off to make this ticket-only event private, spacious, and welcoming. When we arrived, we were given "passports" which allowed us to get samples from 5 vendors. One was a sample of the 4 sangria being served, one was a full-sized tequila cocktail from Don Julio, one was a whiskey cocktail from buchanan's, one was a wine sample from PRP Wine, and one was a sandwich sample from Cheba Hut (they ran out and gave us a coupon for a free sandwich instead). On top of all those samples, we each got 2 free drink tickets to use for Sangria at the main tent! All 4 Sangria options were yummy - I loved the tropical one most. The music was great (live music and the DJ), the food options looked amazing but were overpriced, and there were many lawn games and shopping vendors throughout. You could easily spend a whole day here just enjoying the weather and the sangria.

If I could give this event zero stars, I would. I am extremely disappointed in the Sangria Festival. My friend and I purchased tickets to attend the Sangria Fest on Sunday, August 22nd. When we arrived, we were denied access to the venue due to my friend's service dog being present with us. Her medical alert dog is a fully trained service animal and denying access is illegal. When we entered the venue, we were bombarded by the present security guards referring to the "no pets" sign. We understand that pets are specifically not allowed at this venue, but not allowing a fully trained service animal access is illegal. In accordance to the ADA, a service dog is not considered a "pet". When we attempted to explain the legalities of the situation and advocate for her rights, we were brushed off and the woman we were speaking to said "I don't have time to deal with this". This is extremely inappropriate and discriminatory behavior. When we talked to the head of security, he told us that they have been denying service animals for the past six years this event has taken place and went on to tell us that he had denied a service dog team the previous day of the festival. This is completely unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of knowledge from the employees at this event and am disheartened that we were unable to attend an event we had been looking forward to. We will be contacting the Chicago's Park District and Alderman, as well as filing an official complaint with the US Department of Justice. Our goal is to educate those who are unaware of the ADA rights and the White Cane Act to avoid putting disabled individuals in discriminatory situations like this.
