1 STAR REVIEW Sbarro - Irving & Harlem Plaza Today, Friday, October 10, 2025, around 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., I had one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had at any restaurant -- and it happened at this Sbarro location in Irving & Harlem Plaza. When I walked in, the place was completely empty -- there was no one else at the counter and no customers ordering pizza. After what I experienced, I can clearly understand why. I truly believe people stay away because of the rude attitude of the employees working there. I went in with excitement to celebrate National Pizza Month after receiving an official promotional email directly from Sbarro corporate. When I asked the employee about using the coupon, she immediately told me, "We don't accept any discounts or coupons in this store," in a very rude and dismissive tone. The young Spanish woman at the register was completely unprofessional and disrespectful toward me. The man, another Spanish employee who was making the pizzas, was also cold, unpleasant, and clearly uninterested in helping customers. Both of them acted as if customers were a problem instead of people they are supposed to serve. Their behavior was humiliating and completely unacceptable. It's a shame that Sbarro corporate sends out national promotions to loyal customers but allows certain locations to refuse to honor them. That kind of inconsistency destroys customer trust and damages the Sbarro brand. I left that store angry, embarrassed, and disappointed. If this location cannot follow corporate promotions or treat people with basic courtesy, Sbarro corporate needs to step in and take action immediately. The woman at the register and the man making the pizzas should not be working in customer service -- their behavior was disgraceful and unprofessional. I will never return to this Sbarro again, and I truly hope that corporate looks into how this location operates and who they have representing their brand. Customers deserve honesty, respect, and fair treatment -- not humiliation and rudeness. What makes this even worse is that Sbarro corporate itself continues to send promotional emails encouraging customers like me to visit their stores, only for those same stores to reject and embarrass us when we try to redeem them. This is not just a failure at the store level -- it's a corporate problem that needs immediate correction. As a loyal customer who once respected this brand, I feel completely let down by the company as a whole. When a customer walks in with trust, expecting the promotion sent directly by corporate, and is treated with such arrogance and disrespect, it reflects not just on that store -- it reflects on the entire company behind it. Sbarro corporate, I strongly urge you to take accountability and ensure that all your locations honor the same promotions you promote nationally. Sending marketing emails to customers and then allowing your stores to deny them is misleading and unethical. It sends a message that the company values profit over honesty and has no respect for the people who support it. Until serious changes are made at this Irving & Harlem Plaza location -- starting with retraining or replacing the staff -- I will be warning everyone I know about this experience. A brand's reputation is built by how it treats its customers, and this Sbarro location has shown the worst example possible.

My friend decided to get tacos from here , they were "steak tacos" with cheese on them , the cheese wasn't even really melted, my friend didn't like them after the first bite and gave the rest to me and honestly like 45 mins later it had our stomachs hurting the tacos were pretty bad tasting also

I am absolutely outraged over the incident that's happened at a place that I've literally gone to for 20+ years. I found a black hair in my son's meatball sauce. Not the end of the world, but I decided to let them know, they originally told me that the manager was "on break" but by the time I got back to my table he was back. I walked over and tried to pull him to the side so it wasn't mentioned in front of other customers. He doesn't want to step to the side and flat out asks me if I've "got a complaint or something" so I tell him that yes I found a hair in my food, he then tells me that he has "no idea how that got there and that it couldn't be any of the staff working because there's no women working." When I asked if he thinks I'm lying and if I had put it there. He says " it wasn't us so I don't know" and that " he doesn't know how he can help me" ---ON TOP OF THAT--- THEY DIDN'T EVEN PULL THE SAUCE OFF THE HOT TABLE, out of the same pan they gave us. Discusting I didn't want a refund, I just wanted to let them know it's happened. The amount of disrespect over a hair is mind blowing, obviously this "manager" could care less about basic kitchen sanitation. And even less about the customers. Also apparently hairs in the sauce only come from women. Dope.

Not worth the money.......Kids spaghetti ($3.99 on the menu), small bottle of OJ ($2.69), pepperoni slice ($4.39), and a regular fountain drink (??) plus tax came to a grand total of $18.86!!?!? I thought it was a tad expensive for a mall food court so I questioned the guy (who looked like the manager) and he said he charged me for a combo instead of individual items and assured me this was the cheapest way to ring it in. I've been sitting here in the food court with my 5yr old, eating and trying to do the math but it doesn't work out. I realize it's only a few dollars so it's not worth the stress of an argument and I'm not gonna bother escalating anything......they've just lost my future business. Btw. Spaghetti sauce was watery but good and the pizza was really dry and the crust shattered when I bit it

Brian, really? You have all these pizza reviews and you do Sbarro? Hear me out. I reviewed a place that was supposed to be the best pizza in town when I was on vacation out of town. Let me tell you, Sbarro is better than a lot of places that are "the best" in their own areas. We are just spoiled living in Chicago. If you give me an option of Sbarro or other fast food places, I'd highly consider Sbarro. The slices are average priced and sized. The crust is generic flour, thin yet doughy. If you can get past the pepperoni slices being the greasiest you've ever had, it's got a decent flavor and cooked well. I don't mind Sbarro. It isn't memorable, but sometimes you need a slice, and it hits the spot.

I ate there on 05/16/16, and I'll tell you they fell off big time, I have been going there for over 20 years. Their food is very cheap. their spaghetti sauce was so watery i wouldn't even stick to my pasta, i needed swim trunks lol. Over a year ago, a friend and I went to Sbarro in Harlem and Irving Mall. We were in the mall getting my Mom a present for Mother's Day when the aroma of pizza filled the air. That smells good I thought. Let's go and get us some'a'dat shit. We did. I opted for the largest slice of stuffed supreme pizza that the old wench behind the counter could spot and it was glistening with "eat me"-ability. Boy was I excited. I was so excited I asked for two slices. This is going to be epic meal time for Tim. Well after getting a piece of garlic bread, dipping sauce, and a large coke the total came out to be 14.50. Wow. I could have gotten a handjob in the city for that price. I still gave it a shot anyways. Maybe this pizza was going to be magnificent. Maybe we were destined to meet at such a romantic location at the mall. I got some napkins, and Jim and I sat down to go to town on our pizza. After two bites, I wanted to piss on it and give it back to them. It was awful. It tasted like shrimp...and that is not a good thing. It was pizza. So just to let all of you know, Sbarro at Harlem and Irving does not care about the quality of their pizza. They just make it look good and ring you up, then when you are sitting in the sea of scum over there at the HIP, you realize that you are slowly becoming more like them as you eat your pizza. Well Sbarro. I win now. I will never eat at your place ever again, unless you pay me fifty dollars and refund me for my terrible meal. Worst. Pizza. I can't believe no one has reviewed Sbarro pizza places. Some of my favorite pizza as a child when I would go to Harlem Irving Plaza. Always hot and fresh. I've only had their thin crust pizza's but I think it's time to try their deep dish. Fast service. They don't deliver but you can take out a whole fresh pizza and they make it so you can watch your pizza being made. If they take Sbarro out of the mall that would be the last time I shop at that mall.
