Terrible horrific experience!!! Payed owner Raj $115 for a full one night stay only to be kicked out by the time I returned to my room around 1AM. All of our stuff was tossed in trash bags. Only option then was to be charged another $95 at 4AM to stay until my original 11AM checkout. Prostitute ridden with women trying to rent the room for only a couple hours with different men. Medicine bottle was stolen when they collected our things from the room, it was never returned. Please beware and don't make the same mistake I did if you're a good human being looking for a decent place to lay your head for the night. Avoid this place at all costs!!!!

They have bugs in their beds, nice staff, good location, and cheap prices. Go here if you're broke and down for adventure.

its so bad i will not be returning any time soon, none of my family or friends or their families will be returning. this place needs to be shut down immediately, (i got lice and bed bugs from the rooms, food poisoning from breakfast, toe fungus from the shower, i found an extremely sticky stubstances on the floor and in the bed, i found a shot full of liquid the color was brownish more of a green though and a plastic bag that had a white powder in it, (creeps me out because i dont know what it was)) i had to leave that night and i was supposed to be there for 4 days i didnt last for 2 hours!!!! there were dogs barking constantly, tapping on the window (i was on the first floor), the pool was a merky green and it had foam at the top. this place need to be inspected or shut down immediately! do not come here if you have children and if you do make sure you lock your door tight and put things infront of the door to baracade yourselves on , i caught someone trying to open the door to my hotel room!!! do better..

Absolutely horrifying and $95 for the room was literally suicidal swiping my card. Structurally the building looked ok but every other element of this motel was absolute trash. Walls were dirty and completely disgusting - carpet moldy and stains. Looks like where people are killed.

I booked a room here through Expedia, assuming that minimum standards were probably observed with a major booking site like that. When I checked in, there were hairs in the bed, a couple small blood stains in the linens, peanut shells ?! on the floor etc. They could at least try to make it somewhat clean, if outdated, like other budget motels, but they don't even seem to really care about the housekeeping. I never took my shoes off and walked out of there to head to another hotel within 15 minutes, but the hotel refused to refund my charge, presumably for the room they couldn't be bothered to actually clean. Do NOT stay here. I don't even understand how people can provide such a low level of service. HORRIBLE

I didn't have much of a choice to stay here. I have been ripped off out of $80 they said they have a clean room. I wish I asked to check the room first. I am on my way home while my vehicle is in repair for a week. I paid a taxi driver to go an extra 5 miles away from the city cheap motels to try and find something decent. The door isn't secure, the walls look as if they have never been painted in this millennium, drawers are missing handles, the carpets are torn, the room smells exceptionally stuffy and I smelled the next door people smoking something with a gross strong Aroma in the evening. There is mold around the edges of the bath tub and paint overkill splattered on the counter. The toilet is broken on the side and its size in general is super small size creating discomfort for an average built male person to use it. The crack around the alarm is stuffed with what looks like dried up napkins or toilet paper, there are holes in the headrest on either side exposing bare plywood I didn't even use the sheets for concerns of them not being clean because one of the pillows was yellowish in color. So I slept fully dressed with a hat and a hoodie on to some how attempt to insulate myself from the bed I was sleeping on. This is by far one of the worst hotel I have had to spend the night in. Never again. Never again.

Horrible service discrimination by heavy set lady sitting at front desk at skylark hotel today feb 1st between 5:25-5:50 issue happened. She refused to allow us to speak to manager. We were long time customers now see why they have such a low rating it took this one individual to turn away a senior that comes at least 1-2 a month. Never again. We were taken care of at Cicero hotel even if more expensive at least no discrimination and we rather pay more money than less and be treated so unfairly. It was a birthday weekend too. This Cicero hotel is amazing on 47th and Cicero brand new everything and the service was awesome even free complimentary breakfast in the am. Shame on you Skylark. I hope that employee gets spoken to by her manager.

You ARE better off sleeping in your car. This 'fleabag' should be renamed just that. I endured 8 hrs of construction which at times drowned out the tv. Forget about art or a fridge. I think they were burying bodies. Also heard the toilet flush every 15 minutes next door. Killed a hand full of bugs. I had the good fortune of having a can of big spray in my trunk. Mix in the loud arguing, aircraft, midnite fireworks way past the fourth and you end up with little sleep (on top of the covers). Even at $110 it was ridiculous. It was the dirtiest motel room ever. Checking out the clerk had the nerve to say that I should request a second floor next time. I responded, "there will not be a next time". It was a dump and should be torn down. Not to be rebuilt. Minus zero stars.

I wasn't sure what this hotel would deliver, but when one travels last minute to Chicago on a busy event weekend, affordable options are not abundant. Reviews on other sites made me leery, but since my child was not with me, I thought I would give this one a go. First and foremost..this is NOT a place for children. Of the few channels on the television, porn is one, and since you wouldn't want to go out at night with kids, channel surfing is going to be about the only thing to do in the room. Also, there were sex noises in adjacent rooms of mine all night long. Non stop. Again, NOT a place for children. My room was junky, but clean. Not the kind of place one wants to take their shoes off in, but the linen was clean and smelled fresh. In a smoking room, I was pleasantly surprised that it did not smell smokey at all. Staff was helpful and friendly. Not sure what the situation is for second floor rooms, but my first floor room facing Cicero had private entry and I feel this is safer, as I never know what may happen in an unsecure hall way. The doors don't seem as secure as one would hope for, but the lock was sturdy, and if I had been smarter, I think I would have put the desk in front of the door, just to be extra cautious. But, really, other than the sex noises all night long, there was nothing shady going on that I saw. And I was peeping out the window all night long, out of boredom, as the noises kept me awake. The 24 hour restaurant next door (Brandy's) is great. I had the BLT that for under $7 had fried, cole slaw pickle and soup. It was great. Overall, while my experience was not terrible, I probably would not stay there again unless my husband was along. It is probably not the safest for a lone female to stay. I can not stress enough how much this place is not for kids. I didn't hate this place, but I feel that I may have just gotten lucky. If you have a sense of adventure and do not balk at a room that is very rough around the edges in questionable surroundings, give them a go.

this motel is actually not too shabby for what it is.. the prices are reasonable and its right near midway so its convenient if you have a layover or you just want to stay close to the airport. they have canopy beds and some rooms with jacuzzi's or waterbeds.. i just wouldn't tell someone to stay here if they want to experience downtown chicago
