Hey it was an inexpensive flights during the holiday season. We boarded and landed on time and I had no complaints of the customer service. I have flown them twice in the last couple of yrs. They are not my immediate go to but they did the job and that's all that matters. Will add that their terminal at LGA gets really tight. Only 2-3 food options in the area so if you want more, buy before you enter.

I know ppl don't think this is a good airline but it is so cost effective and now that I have Silver status I get free upgrades and enjoy big seats or priority seating. Why not. The Terminal at Ohare (T2) has been upgraded also to include some American Airlines next to Spirit and nice amenities. Charging station and family lounge.

If I could give 1 million times 1 star, I would do it!) If I could help every person in this world give Spirit Airlines 1 star, I would volunteer to do it. Daylight robbery! At first they sell cheap tickets, but then come endless hidden fees, rude service, and unfair treatment. I was on flight #2343 from Orlando to Chicago, gate 8. Before boarding, they announced they needed volunteers to leave the plane with a $700 offer including hotel, but no one volunteered. Since I was in the last boarding group (Group 5), they targeted me -- it felt like they wanted to kick me out of the plane just because I was last group. At the gate, Mrs. Jennifer suddenly made a huge problem. She told me I could only bring one bag. I had just 1 small handbag and 1 small carry-on, but she forced me to combine everything into one. Then she made me check the size and demanded my credit card to charge $99 for one bag. Another staff member even asked her, "Did you charge her yet?" Then they threatened us, saying we had only 2 minutes or they would not let us on the plane. This felt like racist discrimination, because my sister (also Asian) was forced to do the same thing. Worst airline ever. I will never fly Spirit again.

DELAYED FLIGHTS ! ! ! Disaster, Delaying flights every hour. Very bad decision for flying with Spirit Airlines.

My suitcase and its contents were destroyed after they did an inspection. The items they seen on the X-ray were placed in the top and in one spot on purpose so that when they opened it, it was in one spot and no need to terrorize the other contents. The items were strictly business related and set with the business names badge. They tore out all contents in the suitcase and tried to Just tried it back in all messed up, destroying business papers that were stacked in one spot. They attempted to zip it back up but could not due to how they repacked it and never apparently opened the expander, causing the zippers toto break. When my luggage arrived, it was still open and contents hanging out. I went to the hello counter and was ignored while they helped people behind me. I was very polite. The person being there counter was that of color and only helped those of color. So I went up stairs to get help from someone else but got the same exact treatment. I was first in line with a line of colored people behind meme and they began to call up all the ones behind me. I walked up to the counter where there was no one being helped and was told to wait my turn. I said I was in line first I did wait my turn and they keep calling everyone behind me. The lady walked away. I was polite. I ended up leaving. I do not recommend Spirit to anyone. On another side note, you have to pay $75 extra for baggage, with no option for it to be included in your ticket price, I had to pay $100 for my small back pack that went under the seat as a carry on. The landing gear and brakes were clearly in bad condition as well.

I'm beyond pissed!Extremely Disappointed with Spirit Airlines My experience with Spirit Airlines has been nothing short of frustrating and stressful--especially as a parent traveling with a disabled child. From the very start, my initial flight was delayed, and we were stuck sitting on the runway for 45 minutes to an hour. During that time, a fellow passenger was extremely rude and disrespectful toward my child, making an already difficult situation worse. On our return flight, things went downhill again. The flight was delayed, only to be canceled completely. Spirit rebooked us for the following day, but that flight included a 4.5-hour layover in another city--again, while traveling with a special needs child. This level of unreliability and lack of concern for passengers, especially those with disabilities, is completely unacceptable. I expected better consideration, communication, and support from an airline.

If I could give less, I would. Today I've tried to cancel the "Spirit Saver's Club" yearly subscription. There's a link that says, "go to your account, click on saver's club, follow the instructions"....there are NO instructions for cancelling. Chat with the bot that says the exact same thing. Who then transfers me x2 to a "live agent". More than half an hour later, it's still not done & I'm left with "you will be contacted via email within 24-48 hours to investigate your concerns". What needs investigated? Just cancel it.

Terrible customer service. From the app and website, to the counter agents at the 'help' desk. I called and texted with 2 agents trying to see about getting on the standby list - and how long it was. No one could answer me, due to their systems limitations. Said to go to airport - which I did. The counter agent/s looked, and told me that they are oversold with 7 people on standby. How hard was that - over the phone. Could have saved me time, frustration and UBER $$'s. When I offered some constructive criticism, the agent got very snarky and condescending. Spirit should work to improve their employee training and work culture. Poor communication skills and attitude across the board with limited training to their system. Save yourself the frustration...fly Delta, American, United or Southwest.

Unfortunately, I have flown with Spirit airlines several times and none of them have been pleasant. Each time there has been delays, poor customer service and just an overall dreadful flight experience. I will not be flying with them again.

I'm sorry Yelpers - but I just can't in good conscience recommend anyone fly with Spirit Airlines. I've had multiple run ins with them with multiple bad experiences, from damaged bags with no accountability from them, to delayed flights to flights changing almost 4 times, including instead of being a direct flight to Tampa from Chicago, they changed it to a 5 hour layover in Atlanta, and THEN and only then, would we depart for Tampa (LOL). The seats are so uncomfortable on the flights as well. The customer service is non existent and not American based, their "oversized bag" fees are ridiculous- $89 additional to the already overpriced $55 checked bag fee for being 5 LBs over (anything over 40 LBs is oversized per Spirit). Totally ridiculous airline, yes you will certainly pay the lowest airfare price by flying with them, but at what cost? I do not recommend flying with Spirit, but if you do get caught in their venus fly trap of low prices - just know that you've been warned (it's rare to see a business rated this low on Yelp! FYI...)
