One of my roommates from undergrad and I came here for drag brunch the other day and had an absolute blast. I'm kind of floored by the great value of this brunch. The performers were so talented and the $60 cover actually covered *a lot*... the same drag brunch on the west coast would have been far higher cost for less value. It was a small crew there for the show, but the artists really kept everything moving. It says a lot when there's a smaller audience and nobody feels weird about it. Also, a quick thank you for having disco Cher on the playlist. I feel like she always gets overlooked! I'm flying back to Seattle and the story I might tell the most is that I had to cross out a Bible verse written on a dollar bill so nobody thinks I'm evangelizing at them. Just Midwest things.

Don't come here!!! I was here Halloween weekend hoping to try this bar and have a good time, it started with us being in line and being told it was 5 dollars to get in and we can only pay by card which is fine, as soon as I pay I got charged 10, which sucked but is whatever, I understand it was packed because Halloween but it was so tight in there people started leaving after 15 min of being there. Also this one is on me for not asking but any bar I've gone before would charge 5-7 dollars for a shot, they charged me 12 dollars for a shot and since I got 2 and water, my total came out to 31 dollars. Now you're wondering why the math isn't adding up? It's because that charged me the rest for the water! I didn't ask for some fancy water, a cup with ice would have been. Seeing how busy they were, I brushed it off until this morning when I saw the price change due to the tip, I'll be honest, I was a bit ticked from the night there I tipped around 3-4 dollars for the 31, but this morning I saw they added a 13 dollar tip, I sure as hell sobered up when I saw the price of drop shots so I know I didn't tip 13. So moral of the story, don't go there

Would give zero stars if possible. The two bouncers (one female and one male) are both idiots and should be fired. They wouldn't let my friend who is 23 in because they "never seen a Massachusetts ID like his". Yeah they probably haven't because his was an actual REAL ID. Why turn away people when your bar is the emptiest place on the street? Whoever owns/manages this place should be embarrassed for employing such incompetent bouncers. Buy a scanning machine like Sidetrack, if you're going to be anal about IDs instead of letting some imbecile bouncer with two brain cells decide if it's real.

Have you ever been inside a white refrigerator? Have you ever been behind on your alimony because of your gambling addiction? Have you ever been served a warrant and been surprised? No? Well come to Splash and experience all those classy emotions and much more! They have it all- no bag check, watered-down drinks, a sticky floor, and so much more! Still not sold? Check out the staff so hateful that your step parent takes notes from to be hateful. From the bouncer that can't read your ID, to the bartender that almost poured an ounce of alcohol into your over priced drink- they have it all! But it's ok, the moment you will want to complain- no one will hear you! That's right, straight out of a 1997 Toyota Camry comes the amazing sound system! Playing all those white satin sheet hits you already are tired of from the radio. Splash- truly a watering hole for the ones you'd like to avoid.

For those wondering, yes, this used to be Mini Bar. They've done some updating to it, but overall, it keeps a lot from the previous place. We were just in town for Market Days and visited it not expecting much, but we really did love it and it became kind of our go to bar for the weekend. I typically enjoy Sidetracks, but the music and the atmosphere at Splash was phenomenal. I didn't get the DJ's name, but she was there both Saturday and Sunday and she kept throwing out what seemed to be perfect tunes for the occasion. If you aren't familiar with the old Mini Bar, then you should know that this place is basically made up of a few areas. There are two side bars, a dance floor with a bar and then an odd, isolated bar downstairs which isn't always open or busy. Not sure if it's going to be a common scene, but they did have some go-go dancers during the day, but that may have just been a Market Days thing.

I truly believe that the Splash Chicago is a great bar. The atmosphere rocks. The staff are always inviting and welcoming. No matter what time of the day or what day of the week you go to Splash Chicago, it always feels welcoming and relaxed. Zero attitude from both staff and patrons alike, along with the great cocktail options. I love vibing to the music which is loud enough to put you in a good mood but not loud enough that you can't still have a conversation. I always have a great time at Splash.

I recently moved to the Lakeview area after living in California for three years so I have been taking the time to try out new places and find new go to spots around the area. There are so many bars and restaurants within walking distance so it is sometimes hard to choose which one to go to. My girlfriend, her friend and I decided to check this place out to just grab a quick after dinner. Little did we know we would stay and party here for the rest of the night. The atmosphere is quite energetic. You walk in to the front bar which is a good spot to grab your drink and then explore. There's a second room to the left that has chairs and another bar. Perfect place to get prepared before you get up and dance. Then towards the back is the awesome dance floor. There is a back bar on the dance floor so no need to go to a different bar to get a drink, unless you want less of the crowd. Drinks are also reasonably priced as well. Music here is great. It has a Vegas feel in terms of music, so a lot of mainstream mixed over EDM beats. I will say if you're not a fan of EDM this may not be the place for you. Luckily I am and I really enjoyed my time here. I will definitely go back.
