I'm a huge fan of Sur's up in general however this review is solely for their "Da bomb lobster & shrimp" sandwich. At $20 the sandwich lacked flavor & was a huge letdown. I think the seafood itself could benefit from the Hennessy sauce or some other tlc but I wouldn't recommend it not to mention the lobster tail is huge & there were merely 3 shrimp. I've visited 3 different locations for surfs up & I have to admit that one thing that keeps me coming back is however the Hennessy shrimp. I've said it once & ill say it agains that the flavor is big, bold & delicious & anyone visiting either location should definitely indulge. I'm closing these fries were seasoned to damn near perfection.

We were playing pickleball in the park nearby and decided to stop by Surf's Up on a whim The service was amazing! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Definitely gave the place a homey feel to it. Food was good too, servings were big and fry on the fish was spot on. The fries were a little oily and soggy though but we didn't mind. It certainly hit the spot and made for an enjoyable experience

The food was delicious. Excellently cooked and spiced. They give ideal portions. The greens are tasty and the fried green tomatoes are some of the best I've had. I had the fried catfish combo. The lady who answered the phone was courteous and accommodating.

This restaurant is great because they have a diverse menu and prices that are affordable for everyone. I love to try the $5 holla which is 2 wings, 1 piece of fish, fries and a Pepsi soda product of my choosing. You can't beat this price with so many people out here struggling because of the pandemic. Didn't know what I wanted to eat but decided to check this place out although it had a low rating. Glad I did. First let me say professional customer service. Thank you. Came in and the young lady was on her phone and she immediately said hello to us and told her caller let me call you back and immediately asked how could she assist us? We had many questions about the menu but the time was taken to address each. I ordered the fried lobster dinner with fried green tomatoes and a side of collard. OMG! Loved the entire meal. The tomatoes were a little salty, but the way they seasoned was just perfect! The greens were cleaned, seasoned, with just a pinch of a spice but again perfection. I love good collards. Fried lobster was a first and won't be my last. Love the concept. Would have wanted the lobster to be larger. But hey. Enjoyable never the less. The coleslaw that comes as a side. I didn't like it. I say give this place a try. I enjoyed my meal and will be going back.

It is absolutely despicable to charge people $10 for 5 shrimp. For that amount,fries should be served with this. It is uncalled for and it is straight up highway robbery! Truly dissatisfied and I do not recommend.

This is the worse Surfs up. I'm trying to support black business but this location I will not recommend. I decided to try 4317 S Cottage Gr location because I like the new one up North. The Cottage Gr location food sucks, too much grease and my order incorrect and I spend $35.00. I ask for grilled catfish dinner and receive fried catfish. The fried green tomatoes was greasy with no season plus the fish had no season. There was no dinner only fried fish. The manager (black man) had no mask and training someone at the counter. I call up there and was told it's theirs fault and I'm owe a correct dinner. Today (7/18) I call to place my order and told the lady on the phone that they own me a dinner due to the incorrect order and I have my receipt dated July 3rd. She told me that the manager said that I had a week to come back which is a lie. Bad business, this is why black business don't get no service due to unprofessional and lack of respect to their own customers (blacks). Hopefully this location will get it together before its too late. They have lost my business.

On June 20th 2020, I went to Surf's Up at 4317 S Cottage Grove. After ordering Fried Shrimp, and fried green tomatoes we were told to come back in 40 minutes. The shrimp was stringy and had little or no seasoning. The fried green tomatoes tasted like they were cooked in fish grease. Saxe Your money, because we wasted ours. Beware. I'm picking 1 star, only because I can't pick zero.

Very poor quality food and overpriced. Tasteless bland cheap crab and overcooked frozen corn. The price per pound is deceiving. 1 crab cluster with 9 shrimp is considered a pound of seafood. I was very disappointed.
