My family had an amazing experience at The Butterfly House. This is an absolutely amazing experience for all butterfly lovers! I highly recommend this if you love butterflies like I do. My son was too overwhelmed in here and had to leave very quickly. But my daughter and I stayed in here for almost two hours and we didn't want to leave. Some of the butterflies really get up super close and personal. They land on us and stay so calm. Some of the butterflies actually preferred to go on our hand instead of the stick they gave us for feeding them. Just extend a finger, don't move, and wait for them to crawl on you and they just stay there! I learned this in a different butterfly garden experience once, so I taught my family this and it worked so well. Please be careful when you walk or sit anywhere in the garden. We saw butterflies on the chair and on the ground. If someone wasn't careful they could step on them! Every time I saw a butterfly on the ground I extended my hand to see if it's willing to crawl up on me, and I would then move it to a plant to keep them safe.

We decided to try out the butterfly house at navy pier since the idea sounded very exciting. The check in process was easy, we just had to buy tickets outside, listen to a few instructions and then were escorted in. The place was filled with different butterflies! They even provide you a pamphlet with all the butterfly names so that you can identify them. There were plenty of flowering plants inside. I am scared of butterflies but the person inside was very helpful and helped take my fear of butterflies away. They even have nectar sticks if you'd like butterflies to sit on your hands. Also, fun fact, if a butterfly senses that you are afraid of them, they will deliberately try to tease you by flying very close to you! Pretty sure a few butterflies did try to scare me! It was definitely fun, inspite of my fear of butterflies.

During a family trip to Navy Pier, we stumbled upon the new butterfly house and decided to pop in! Inside, we found a beautiful garden filled with colorful butterflies. The atmosphere was super relaxed, letting us take our time exploring and admiring the different species. They even had handy charts to help identify each one. A friendly staff member gave us tips on how to attract the butterflies using the optional nectar swab (a dollar well spent!). She even offered sticks pre-loaded with butterflies so we didn't have to do the hard work. My toddler twins are obsessed with the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", so seeing the cocoons (in a separate tent) and then the butterflies was a special treat for them. The boys had a blast wandering through the garden, though I'm not sure they were as into the butterflies as I was! Overall, I thought it was a great experience and definitely worth checking out if you're at Navy Pier.

For $16.50 a person you get an amazing experience with butterflies where you can feed them and they will sit on you. There's a huge variety of butterflies ranging from small to quite large, all beautiful. I've never experienced anything like it and had such a good time. Spent about an hour in here looking at all the butterflies and just hanging out.

The Butterfly House is such a magical place! There were so many different types of butterflies flying around and the staff there was very friendly. The staff did butterfly releases and placed the butterflies on us and also taught us how to get the butterflies to come to our sugar water dipped wands. We loved it so much we spent 2 hours in there even though it's not a big space. Be sure to check out the gift shop too!

New Butterfly House just opened on the front lawn of Navy Pier. Online tickets aren't available, and you'll need to make the purchase in person but they accept cash as well as card. For an extra $1 they will add on a swab that you can dip in butterfly food to feed the butterflies. Inside the tent is a beautiful small garden with a colorful collection of lively butterflies fluttering in the air. They don't rush you at all, and you can take your time sitting or exploring in the butterfly house and observing all the different types. There are charts floating around the area with what different species are in there so you can try to find them all. Once you're done, they'll check you to make sure you're not accidentally carrying any stragglers. Outside of the tent there's a little gift shop with jewelry, candy, and gifts all in the butterfly theme. It was a very peaceful experience and it was fun watching adults and little kids alike brighten when one landed on them or when they spotted a pretty one. It's worth a visit if you're coming to Navy Pier.

We thought it was so amazing how we were able to capture butterflies on this little stick we were given upon entering. The young lady at the entrance she explained everything so well great personality. The butterflies will fly around you some land on you. It was just wonderful as much as I like butterflies. I've never had them to land on my my arm, my hand, my head wonderful.
