I only have great things to say about this place (besides the upstairs bathroom placement. its a bit confusing as to why its like that but whatevs) 1) the vibes are actually elite. I felt like i was in a coming of age movie and i felt like i was going to cry tears of real joy. 2) photobooth!!! 3) service was great!! i got a cocktail and it was really strong i couldnt finish it but thats bc im weak lol anyways idk this was just the most perfect place i couldnt have even imagined it to be this great. i was introducing 3 dif groups of friends this night and this booth was perfect for it. i will alwayssss think of this moment and how special it was for me thanks to the ambiance and service of this place

Food: N/A Drinks: I got a Campfire. It was cool and my friend got a Bitter Farewell and said it was good. I tasted my friend's Bitter Farewell and I'm not a fan of Gin AT ALL but it wasn't that bad so you Gin drinkers should like it. Service: The Bartender was cool. Atmosphere: Good music playing! Final Thoughts: Go grab a drink!

To enter The Heavy Feather, you first enter the Slippery Slope, a red-lighted bar with plenty of standing room, skee ball on one end and a dance floor on the other. Somewhere about midway into the Slippery Slope, you'll find a small stairway that you can slide up into The Heavy Feather. The stairway is just long enough to know that you're entering a different area but not nearly long enough for the transition into The Heavy Feather. The moment you crest the stairs and round the corner, you will exit what was most certainly Chicago and enter what might well be a resort bar somewhere in the pacific. Not knowing what I was getting into at the time, it took quite a moment of adjustment to take it all in. Somewhat early on a Friday night, there was still plenty of space around the standard sized bar and seating area. The drinks matched the island theme of the bar and were quite tasty, although truth-be-told I may have been a bit too buzzed to give a thorough review of the flavoring.

The cocktails were great and decently priced. Staff was friendly and quick. Ambiance was quiet and chill. I would definitely go back.

We got there exactly at open because we are early birds and it was empty obviously so we got to pick the best seats and we just absolutely loved the ambiance. So cute and eclectic this place rates high on my list of quaint little cocktail bars. The drinks were fantastic and the staff was super friendly. Definitely check it out if given the chance!

Loved this bar! Great drinks and they also have a Photo Booth! Nice that's it is above Slippery Slope too so you can start your night at Heavy Feather and go downstairs there to dance

I can't wait to come back. Vibes are immaculate. We arrived around 10:30 on a Friday and had no wait to get in Slippery Slope (downstairs) or The Heavy Feather. With standing room only we grabbed a menu (complete with photos of their signature cocktails) and placed our order just before a booth opened up. All the drinks were great and themed to the 70's decor and music. I was begrudgingly drug out the door after one drink to make our reservation down the street. I could have sipped cocktails and danced to ABBA all night!

Great 70s playlist, a warm hazy atmosphere, and decently priced drinks. Unlike other reviewers I did not feel like the Slippery Slope patrons are the same people going to The Heavy Feather. The music wasn't overbearing and I was able to hear my partner just fine. It seemed like a great date spot as I noticed several couples sitting at the bar. The drinks were beautiful to look but a bit of a mystery in that they both tasted quite alcoholic and yet I felt quite sober afterwards. I'm not looking to get thrashed or anything but a slight buzz would have been nice. Still, if you're looking for a nice intimate bar in Logan Square, a gorgeous interior and fashion inspiration this is it.

If you'd have told me there's a reputable cocktail bar above Slippery slope, I never would have believed it. But, amazingly there is! There were 5of us the other day and it was rather full even just at like 9pm. We got upstairs no problem but had to wait for a table. I ordered the devil's arithmetic which was superb. Really smooth and well balanced. It had bourbon, cognac, winter honey, and bitters. Boozy yes but not too sweet despite the honey. It was so good that I got a second! The decor and vibe is great, love the greenery everywhere. It's kinda log cabiny in areas as well. Only downside is that you can hear slippery slope downstairs.

What are terrific tucked-away little bar. It's a grown-up place for cocktails with a serious 70s vibe. The music is influenced by Funk and a pleasure to listen to. The bartenders are knowledgeable and the crowd is an appreciative mix of ages.
