I have been coming to the Trading Post for about 10 years. It is the "Cheer's" of cigar shops with an excellent selection and the best pricing in Chicagoland. In particular, the "Rosalia" brand of cigars from Nicaragua that are made for the store exclusively, and their "Trading Post" brands have all have a blend of 4 flavors. These cigars compete with those costing double, and the "Entubar" constructed box press cigars are some of the best at any price. Great cigars for those looking for an hour long smoke! Both the Connecticut and Maduro blends are outstanding.

I absolutely love going here when I get a craving for a cigar. The atmosphere is very relaxed, comfortable and alluring. The shop itself is a bit small compared to some other shops I've been to, but don't let it's size fool you. The owners, Bill and Gloria, are wonderful people and can help you with any needs you may come across. They've owned the shop for many years and have a great background in cigars, with years of experience and knowledge, they can help you find the perfect cigar for any event, taste or need you may have. The shop is a great place to go to if you have the time to do so. If you can, I would recommend coming with a drink and be prepared to sit for a few hours, enjoy a cigar or two (I recommend a drink if you're like me who wishes have something on hand so your throat doesn't become so heavily parched. I'm a newbie but a definite aficionado), and enjoy the atmosphere and chatter commonly held on a daily basis. The shop also has some of the most comfortable chairs I've had the honor of resting on. There's nothing which attracts me more than to go have a cigar, sit on the soft cloud of a chair, and just chat with those in the shop at the time. It really is a great experience and it's a home away from home. The prices are very reasonable as well and the shop still has the best pricing I've come across in my experiences. The selection is a great one, with a wide range of flavors, sizes, gauges, types and brands. You can get an aged cigar that may be out of production or which is from a company long gone, a light blend perfect for that crave but not too rich, or that bold and dark flavor which is perfect with a dark roast coffee. The best thing to do is go to the shop and just look around. Also, don't be afraid to ask Bill or anyone else what they recommend. Everyone there is there because they all share a common love, which so happens to be why you're there as well. Cigars!!! If you're unsure, just ask and feel free to smoke it in house.

I really wanted to like this place!!. I'm all for shopping local and giving the little guy my business. But the stock was sparse and what they had was quite over priced. I'm not sure if the owner runs this business as a hobby, or if his business is just hanging on by a thread. It's a shame because the store is in a good location for me, and if it was worth my while, I would be stopping in quite often. If you are on the Northwest side and are craving a good Cigar, you might just want to pass this place up.

Just had my first visit. Don't know if I'll be back. I believe the Dominican Cohibas I bought were fakes. The band design looks like a bastardization between a Cuban and Dominican. I guess at $7.85 a pop for a churchill size, I should have known. Followup: Upon further research, the cigars I bought were fakes. Will not go back.

This little cigar shop is quaint. The owner is helpful and knowledgeable of cigars. I came in asking for a cigar and the owner suggested another which was a great smoke that I had never tried. Now I am hooked.There is a wide variety of premium cigars. I enjoyed staying awhile to smoke my cigar and have a casual conversation with other cigar smokers at the shop. I even bought a lottery ticket and won $20.00. I serve in the military so the owner thanked me by giving me a cigar. Wow! I will surely return to this cigar spot

I've driven passed this place loads of times but never took the time to go in. Well this passed weekend I decided to check it out and to my surprise it was an AWESOME!!!! experience. The new owners were young, hip and knew loads about cigars. There was lots of comfortable space for me and my boyfriend to sit and have a couple of cigars. With all the choices I had to get a suggestion. It was also great to see a starbucks just around the corner We chatted with the new owners and I will certainly suggest going here. The experience couldn't have been better. See you soon Trading Post!!!

Wow! What a great place. The new owner Bill, has converted the store to a cigar smoking lounge. There were gentlemen smoking cigars, when I went in to purchase cigars for my boyfriend. Bill was very friendly and helpful in assisting me to purchase a variety of different cigars for my boyfriend's birthday. He took the time to explain if the cigar was mild, robust or full body. The clients that were smoking were also very friendly. The store looked art deco and they played Frank Sinatra music. The store was well stocked with cigars, lighters and other items. He even gave me a discount. I recommend this neighborhood store, even the Indian statue at the entrance was happy!

The owner is an asshole and his buy 4 get 1 free promotion is blatant false advertising. The coupon specifically says, "Buy 4, of any brand, and get one free." However, he told me that he gets to pick one to give you for free because the ones i picked out were too expensive (all between $6.50 and $8.50). And this was after at least two minutes of him failing to explain this to me clearly, and just being rude about his own coupon. I said fine, I'll just take these 4 and you can pick out the one for free. Then he dismissively told me to put the one back that I wasn't taking. I told him he was kinda being a dick, especially since his ad/coupon makes no mention of limitations on the deal, and he told me he wouldn't sell me any cigars. I gladly left without giving him my business. If you want to give your business to someone who clearly doesn't give a shit about customer service, go here.
