A couple of my friends and I wanted to bring a visitor to Pequod's, but with the wait and the cold wind, we headed to Whale Tale. At around 6:15 on St. Patrick's Day, most of tables were already taken. We snagged a table and pulled a couple extra chairs. There wasn't a host, but a waitress came to give us menus as soon as we sat down! We were hungry but also waiting for our real meal, so 4 of us shared the appetizer combo. This came with 4 different items: broccoli cheddar bites, onion rings, jalapeno beer battered pickle spears, and fries! I can't have onions, so I tried the other three! I was most excited about the pickles and fries because they're two of my favorite appetizers! I started off with the fries, and they were alright. There wasn't anything wrong with them, but I didn't get the my usual "I want to order more" feeling. However, I definitely would want to order more of the broccoli cheddar bites and the pickle spears! I was a tad iffy about the broccoli bites because I thought it would be too mushy and overcooked, but they weren't! After eating my piece, I regretted not having it earlier! Last, the pickles. When I saw pickles on the menu, my mind said YES!!! When they came on the plate, my mind said aw man they're gonna be warm I don't know about them anymore. When I took my first bite, my mind said what was I worried about?! Even though they were warm, which is very different from the normal chilled pickle, I still enjoyed it a lot. It almost felt a little more juicy than it would have been cold. The batter had a nice kick and wasn't too spicy. Something else that was great was that our buzzer for Pequod's went off shortly after we got the combo and our waitress said that she would let Pequod's know that we were finishing up so we would have an extra 5 minutes or so before having to rush over!

So the waitress tells us the owner Keith owns Pequads. So we asked if we could order our pizza and they said no outside food allowed. We asked if the apps we order are cooked there or next door at pequads. She said I don't know. She then says yes they are. That makes your comment about outside food not being allowed bull crap. They bring the food from the back door from Pequads. Thanks for making us wait 4hra total to get into Pequads and then they did not make our order. Yo Keith, you can do better. Your manager with the handlebar mustache can do better than just ask if we plan on coming back. This could had been handled sooooo better. We are now at Piece. Got to Pequads. 730. Sat down. 10. Left at 11. Eating Piece at 1125

Nice place to wait for your table at Pequod's. Short but interesting beer selection, decent small plate dishes. Just use caution when ordering on the rocks. I wasn't expecting a two dollar upcharge. Charge $8.95 for a drink and your guests would be none the wiser. I've heard this is common in larger urban areas to justify either an extra alcohol pour or 'artisan water'. Whatever. It's still underhanded.

Cocktail while we waited for Pequod's table. Owner is brilliant to own both! Staff was great. Friday night we felt like we were standing in the middle of the place until a table opened up.

Whale tale is the best bar to go to while waiting for some pizza at Pequod's! Emily and Kayla have been some of the best bartenders and recommend going here any night of the week!!

Great place to hang out and wait for a table at pequods. French fries and great and they have a respectable selection of drinks.

Great bar that's owned by Pequod's. The beers are around $5, wine is around $8! and hearty appetizers under $10. We had the fresh cut fries with ketchup (essentially ketchup packets you open up yourself and squeeze into the cup. The fries were cooked perfectly although we did ask them for extra crisp. They had a nice beer selection. I did want to try the wings but they weren't making them which is a bummer. I also wanted the beer battered fries but I forgot that I was going to eat some deep dish right after that! The great thing about grabbing a drink there while you wait is that when your seat saver technology piece with the red flashing lights (what is the name of that?!) then they call for you to tell them you're just finishing up so they hold the table. Win! Totally recommend if you're going to pequods or are just in the area!

Understaffed. Sat at a dirty table for 10 minutes to find out the kitchen was closed. Never going back.
