I attended our annual Wrigley Rooftop outing, and for the first time it was held at 1038 W. Waveland Ave. This rooftop is lined up in fair territory in left field and was great for a mostly unobstructed viewing of the game. It is now my very favorite rooftop viewing venue (out of 3 I have experienced so far) despite the fact that it is the smallest footprint rooftop. Besides being able to see most of the field and the action, the seats also all have handy benchtops for conveniently eating your food and drinking your drinks. It's a bit tight quarters inside, but we weren't there much. Burgers, brats, Italian beefs and such are served in the rear and the condiments are in the front of the venue due to spacing, so a teeny bit of walking, but that's nothing. Big thumbs up!

1010 West Waveland is a Wrigley Rooftop so Cubs fans live their best rooftop lives and the rest of us non Cubs fans just show up for the open bar. It doesn't really matter whether you're a Cubs fan or not. You're here for the networking anyway. All-you-can-eat, all-you-can-drink, I'm in aren't you? And if you want to watch some ball and you squint hard enough, you might be able to see a few pieces of action. We do the Wrigley rooftops once a year with a group of clients. It's chaos and I love it.

If you're a baseball fan, Wrigley Field is a bucket list destination. I'm from the Milwaukee, WI area and have been making annual trips to Wrigley for 10+ years because nothing beats the atmosphere of having a stadium in the middle of neighborhood instead of a boring parking lot. A few of those trips have included sitting on top of the rooftops outside Wrigley and watching a game from that point of view. Before the renovations at Wrigley that added new scoreboards and signage, most of the rooftops had a decent view of the game. You were never going to get to see the result of most plays deep in the outfield that were hit in your direction, but the infield and shallow outfield was still plenty viewable. Unfortunately, only a couple rooftops still have views worth paying for with 3639 N Sheffield being the least obstructed. Last time I sat in the rooftops that's the one I chose and I don't think I would ever make a different selection, even with 3639 N Sheffield being among the most expensive options Wrigley Rooftops offers. There's a large gap between the scoreboard in right field and the left field warning track so most of the outfield is as visible as possible. The food is ok. It's all you can eat, which for the price of the seats it should be. Burgers, brats, hot dogs, chips, nachos, popcorn, ice cream, cookies, etc. Pretty standard food that you'd find at a tailgate. The club level has a fair number of TVs if you wish to sit in there and enjoy air conditioning in the summer, but it's below the level in which you can see the game out the windows, so you're just looking at the outside of the outfield wall if you're not watching the TVs. I didn't think the sound from the speakers up top was the greatest, but at least you can see what's happening and determine what you can't see by the crowd reaction inside the stadium. There is no cover up top, so if you're there for a day game, bring sunscreen or you massively risk getting sunburned. The rooftops are an experience that everyone coming to Wrigley should enjoy at least once in their lives. If you're able to catch games on back to back days doing one inside the stadium and one on the rooftops, even better so you have the different vantage points for comparison. Again, though there are cheaper options, 3639 N Sheffield is the way to go for the rooftops.

A nice idea in theory but wow what a poor execution (at least on the night that we were there). We were at 3617 N Sheffield for a work event and it was absolute chaos. There were three levels and bizarrely only food on one of the levels, so a giant queue ended up forming that never died down for the entirety of the game. The toilets are also super limited in number. The food was actually decent for what it was, once you were able to get your hands on some. Not sure why they didn't adopt for a self serve model for the hot food like they did for the ice cream bars. Most of my time at the event was spent in a line for food or the bar or a bathroom. Some additional staff would have gone a long way. Lastly the view was also kinda shit - I don't care about baseball and I wasn't interested in watching the game, but if I had been I'd be pretty annoyed about the lack of visibility even from the top. Overall if you want a decent bratwurst there are better ways of going about it.

Attended a birthday party and had a great time. It was a perfect location to catch some of the game, but also to talk with friends. Security was very strict and were unable to bring in wrapped gifts, which was a bit of an inconvenience. The food was ok, not great, but you had a choice of nachos, brats, burgers, beef and chicken. The bar had a variety of beers and some seltzers. The bartenders were very nice! We had a good view of the game, but it is not the same experience as being in the stadium, but a good option to enjoy the game and talk with friends.

Very impressed with both the view AND the service. While the food is abundant and buffet-style, the quality is what you would expect from a baseball-centric entertainment space! Hot dogs, burgers, Italian beef... The woman serving us from behind the hot food bar was incredibly kind and helpful. She doubled checked everything when we mentioned a food allergy as well. The views are great but the food is awful. You'd think it would be an upgrade to stadium concessions but somehow they make it worse. Stale buns, minimal packet condiments, and all in all, just bad food. It's literally gut fill. Grade school cafeterias have better burgers. Rooftops used to be an awesome experience but this is a great example of end-stage capitalism where corporations purchase the buildings, and jack up the prices for a poor quality gameday experience. I'm done with the rooftops at Wrigley.

Question for Yelp -- can I give the Wrigley Rooftops a 10-star review? Because I'd like to. One of the coolest ballpark experiences you'll ever have, the rooftops around Wrigley Field offer a view of the old ballgame that can't be replicated anywhere else in the country. For the price of admission, a buffet of classic ballpark food and Chicago favorites is readily available, as are beers and non-alcoholic beverages. An absolute must for any baseball fan coming to Chicago!

Great experience! Food is typical ballpark food and pretty good. This concept is well designed and the multiple levels gives you an opportunity to get out of the sun and mingle with your group. The neighborhood is makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. Really cool stuff!
