Why has no one mentioned the live radio broadcasts on Fridays at 7pm?!?! The Dave & Chris Show sets up in the back and goes live, takes calls, gets drunk, and puts drunks on the air. They argue politics and tell dirty jokes, cuss like sailors, and are entertaining as all hell. Check it out: http://www.chicagotalkradio.net. I had Basil Hayden last time I was there and the owner was hanging out at the bar. Truly a Chicago local gem. Also, they have high speed wifi.

It's kind of a dive bar, but Friday nights is Karaoke with Jonny Fah and it's a great time! Be prepared, some of the bar stools are a bit wobbly! There always seems to be some kind of munchies in the bar, but they don't serve food. The prices are definitely affordable. It's well worth the trip out on a Friday night to enjoy the interesting collection of aspiring singers doing their karaoke... and the host, Jonny Fah is a blast!

My experience was nice at first, then a group of about 5 people came in and started throwing around racial slurs (nigger, spic, etc) right next to me which felt like it was directed towards me (keep In mind I'm a 125lbs 23 year old, soft spoken, Latin woman) I felt unsafe, and when confronted by the people around me, they defended their slurs, nobody working did or said anything about this. I grew up in this neighborhood and thought I could visit childhood friends in peace and this is what I had to face here. I've worked in the industry and it's fair to say I would NEVER recommend anyone of the slightest color come here. I had to stand and defend myself for my own ethnicity, even though I do not enjoy drama, or conflict, in a city so diverse and beautiful, this bar has obviously not gotten the memo. We are all human. We are all complex, sentient, individuals, regardless of where we come from and our skin color. I have nothing but love for humanity, and all I felt here was hatred, and it was accepted. Who wants to visit an establishment that propagates racism and gives them a safe place to condemn people of color?

Zachary's is a dive seemingly in the middle of nowhere. We approached this place for some karaoke and it was the only place in the immediate area with a light on. Inside is big enough just for the bar, a dart machine, the karaoke area, and a couple tiny single bathrooms. It's pretty dark inside but there really isn't a whole lot to see. Full carpeting seemed just a bit strange... Prices are pretty standard for a bar. Heard the mixed drinks were a bit weak (obviously didn't have any b/c I didn't want to spend $ there). Snacking on a small cup of peanuts is a nice little thing to have. Karaoke was pretty fun. Despite being fairly empty, the wait for your next song was a bit unsettling. People were really nice and friendly though. For me, Zachary's was ok for one night... not the best place for a bunch of 20 something year olds though.

This place was good until the big mouthed bartender Debbie chased out all the off duty cops and customers due to her gossipy mouth. Good bartenders are discreet, she's toxic as all get out. Pretty much everyone would agree about this person. Everything else negative said in these reviews is true.

Nice neighborhood bar, Visited on a Sunday night and it was a nice quiet place. Able to sit down, have a drink, talk with a few friends and toss a couple games of darts. Drinks and beer average prices. Seemed to be plenty of parking on Milwaukee Ave.

Cozy bar , nice people and yummy beer on tap. I always feel welcome here - part of the family. Good times Thursday & Friday nights w/music and singing. Professional bartenders that are becoming a rarity these days. No cliques , everyone treated well and people are respectful.

A nice looking dive bar. came here to watch some football. It is small and quiet and prices are decent. There are alot of other bars in the neighborhood and none of them really stand out. I would say this is a place where older neighborhoods get drunk and smoke their cigaretts outside with the old, bad color ballpark seating.

I've never had a bad time here. It can get pretty crowded some nights, but people are always friendly and the drinks are decent. Small place, but gets the job done.
