**** 20% service fee is not considered a tip and the workers do not share the 20% service fee so you have to leave an additional 20% tip if you are happy with service and a 3% credit card fee**** Let me start with the restaurant, it's a bit small there's like 7 or 8 tables some big some small. Service was slow as I stood at the door way waiting to be seated. After a few minutes an employee shows up and seats me. I waited for the rest of my guests for a total of 7 people. We order a few appetizers and begin to eat. I asked for plates but by the time he brought them the main food platters were already being brought to the table. Again very slow service. Had to ask for water several times. The restaurant had a bunch of people inside with only two waiters. Two waiters is not enough, at least not with the pace these two were working at. Food tasted good. Presentation was good. Menu said two skewers but I only got one. It was long but the description said two skewers and I only got one. Salads were good, cheese bread was good, tea and dessert were good. Service was below mediocre, the waiter never smiled which is normal given their Turkish heritage. I visited Turkey and no one smiles there. Not sure if it's because they think they are better than Arabs or maybe it's genetics. I get up to pay and at the bottom of the screen it says 20% service fee. Usually when there's a group of 5 and more there's an automatic 18% gratuity fee applied to ensure the waiter gets a decent tip from running around assisting all the guests. Not here. 20% service fee is for the owner, then you can leave an additional 20% tip for the waiter. I paid and left a tip. I will never come to this restaurant ever again or any restaurant that does this. I hope the 20% service fee was worth never having me or my guests ever visit your establishment ever again. I will make sure I let everyone know not to come to this restaurant ever again just like the hookah lounge EL Beirut on 111th, they did the same thing and any restaurant that does this will never see me again. It's a shame really. I am trying my best to give my community my money and business but it feels like every place is shoving down my throat these hidden fees or they don't care and just want to make money now. Al-bawadi wouldn't take a gift card I received from a family member because they said it was over a year old. That's another worthless establishment I go out of my way to tell people to go elsewhere. Do better so any new customers you get might return. You won't ever see me again.

This is such a charming little restaurant! Came at 2pm on a Thursday straight from the airport and so glad I did! The wrap was so tasty and between the wrap and the complimentary labneh and bread, I was stuffed! The food tastes just like in Istanbul, which means it was super flavorful and delicious! I will def be back when I'm in the area. The staff was super friendly and welcoming too!

PHENOMENAL!!!! I live in downtown Chicago, but was in Bridgeview one weekend, and stopped by this restaurant because I love Turkish food. I had such a pleasant experience the first time that I can back again, and food/service was even better, which I didn't think was possible! We ordered the item in the pic (forgot what it was called haha) and the lahmacun and it was delicious. The server was also very sweet and funny, he gave us tea and baklava on the house! Will definitely be back!

The food was good. Not quite what I remembered when I lived in Berlin but very close. The service was marginal . The restaurant wasn't unclean but needed attention. The prices were decent for the amount of food. The curry fries weren't Berliner style with ketchup and added powdered curry. Overall I was happy with the nostalgic meal having lived in Berlin for 4 years in the 1990s.

Our first time at this restaurant and it was amazing. The restaurant has a nice and cozy atmosphere and the food wow mind blowing delicious. Even do we have never had Turkish food Our waiter/ server was great he made the experience comfortable and enjoyable. Can't thank him enough. Overall the food it's just wonderful. I recently discovered this restaurant in the Bridgeview area. It is slightly hard to find as it is located at a very busy intersection. Parking is available, but can be tight. I loved the ambiance. Its giving Turkish series local restaurant when the main character is in need of some alone time and is about to sing a traditional Turkish song. There is indoor and outdoor seating, bathrooms are clean (there is a bidet), and the overall decor is flattering. The menu is traditional and extensive, but slightly overpriced. The day I dined in, they were out of so many items, so my friend and I opted for the Haydari (Turkish labne) and a Sucuklu Pide (sausage and cheese baked flat bread) for our appetizers. The pide IS HUGE; can definitely feed up to 3-4 people. The appetizers were delicious! The Haydari was creamy and nutty! For our mains, we tried the doner wraps (chicken and the lamb and beef). The lamb and beef was extremely tender, saucy, and seasoned really well. The chicken was alright, but slightly dry. We also ordered ayran and that paired really well with our meal. Service can be slightly slow, but no complaints. Our waiter was really friendly! I recommend you give this place a try if you are in the Bridgeview area. Till next time!

Delicious food, awesome service, and cozy and warm environment. My family and I drove two house from central Illinois and it was worth it! I tried everything from appitizers to desserts and all was so good. I highly recommend!

Palace Istanbul is located at a busy intersection, and the parking isn't great. The interior is relatively nice, though, albeit small. We ordered iskander kebab, lahmacun, and fries. They also offered a complimentary cup of Turkish tea. The desserts looked amazing, but we didn't try any. The iskander kebab was fantastic. The meat was plentiful and flavorful with the tomato sauce and yogurt, and the soft bread crumbs sopped up the flavors superbly. The lahmacun was decent, but not as good as A Thousand Tales. The fries were just okay; I wouldn't have ordered these, but my son insisted. Service was friendly and pricing was reasonable. Overall a nice lunch.

Unfortunately, this place did not impress myself or my group. We came in to try this place for the first time and it will be our last. The service ruined the experience before the food even came out. The waiter was a young man with no social skills whatsoever. He looked like he hated being there, not friendly, not welcoming. We started with a few appetizers. We were never given individual plates, serving spoons, or refills of water. We asked several times, would get an "ok", then nothing would happen. We had to use the bread as a serving spoon to scoop the dips, then hurry and put it in our mouths before it spilled bc no plates or spoons were provided. Is that not the bare minimum?! Then we ordered entrees that specifically included 2 skewers, but we each received only one skewer on our plates. We don't send food back or complain for fear that the food is tampered with for sending it back so we kept quiet. Then at the end, at the bottom of the bill was a 20% fee added to the bill. The server did not notify us about this, we just happened to get a good look at the receipt. We asked the server if it was an included tip and he said, no it's a service fee that goes to the owner alone. Hmm...I guess the owner is not making enough money from owning the restaurant that he/she wants to include fees?! There's also a 3.5% fee for using credit cards to pay. So in total: 20% owner fee + 20% tip + 3.5% credit card fee=43.5% total fees for crappy service and food. No problem. We paid the bill, gave an undeserving tip to the waiter, and will never be back there again.
