Our church had a fellowship lunch. The servers were so very welcoming and warm. They seated and immediately brought out salsa and chips. The steak burrito was delicious and huge. It was a variety of food ordered and everyone spoke of how delicious their food was will definitely be back again it was so very festive there as well.

Got some Mexican food in Alsip. It has lots of these restaurants around here. Las Fuentes is one of these and could be the best one. Has a basic atmosphere to it. They have the usual menu items like margaritas and tacos with somewhat authentic flavors and things. Coming here it looked much like a basic Mexican restaurant with all the typical decor and everything. It's got a bar and we sat here. There's also plenty of tables. Has about what to expect as far as what to get. It's about $11 for a mojito. The drinks are kind of pricy but not as much as the food though. It's about $16 for an entree. We got the Tacos Mexicanos. Comes with choice of proteins, including vegetarian if not wanting beef or chicken. These have queso fresco which I left off, broccoli, cauliflower, green peppers, red peppers, and tomatoes. Quite a lot. These are served with pinto beans and rice. Had some pretty filling drinks and food here. It's located on the north side of town on Pulaski. There's meaty choices as well as options for vegetarians.

Above average experience overall - the food was great and the service was great too. It was 4 of us and each portion was a good amount of food. We ordered Skirt Steak, Camarones Diablo, Chile Rellenos, and Fried Fish. I would recommend all of those dishes ($200+ overall check). Plus they start you off with chips & salsa... brownie points for that. Definitely. Also ordered a large Watermelon Jalapeño Margarita ($44 feeds 6 small drinks), very tasty and not too bitter nor too sugary. We live pretty far from here so we wanted to give a new place a try and decided this was the spot. I would say the only part that rubbed us the wrong way was the mandatory 20%+ gratuity if you have 4 people or more. I've always seen groups of 6+ people get hit with this but I get understand in a way to be like every other restaurant / be more competitive. Honestly, we probably were going to leave 20% or more either way but it would've been a horrible experience if our service was trash & they still received top tier gratuity. Thank you Las Fuentes! Disappointing. I stopped in with my little brother because he said he'd heard good things about it. We wanted to sample the food and have a couple of drinks. It was midday on a Friday, so the restaurant wasn't very crowded. We were greeted by a lovely waitress who also made our drinks. The space is nicely decorated and comfortable. We sat at the bar and enjoyed ourselves. Unfortunately, that's where the good times ended. The chips and salsa wasn't great either. The tacos were very disappointing. I ordered al pastor and carne asada. The steak wasn't seasoned very well, and the pork was much too dry. I had a frozen margarita, which was awful because the waitress/bartender added too much ice. I believe my brother had a mojito, which was actually pretty good. The menu is expansive, and the location is great, but the food definitely left something to be desired. I probably wouldn't go back.

Absolutely love Las Fuentes! One of my favorite Mexican restaurants! I usually get the quesadillas but I decided to switch it up today. I ordered the chicken chimichangas with a side of rice and beans. You get 3 in an order so I did 2 shredded chicken and 1 grilled chicken. The shredded was good but the grilled was the best! The rice and beans NEVER misses. These are the best refried beans I've had. My boyfriend ordered the Pollo Borracho and he loved it. I tasted some and it was good!! Nice and seasoned. Packed with flavor. The chips and salsa are always fresh and the salsa has a nice kick to it. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The only thing I wish they had was the green and red sauce to add to the food. Other than that, Las Fuentes is fantastic! I've dined in and carry out and never had an issue with either. Highly recommend. Overall ratings: Chips and Salsa 5/5 Pollo Borracho 5/5 Chicken Chimichangas 4.5/5

Just visited this fabulous spot. There were 4 of us so we over ordered to try quite a bit. We were not disappointed. We had the oysters special if you like oysters you'd love these! They are topped with shrimp, octopus, avocado and pico. My chili relleno was so tasty. My mom ordered this special in a sizzling bowl I forgot the name it was absolutely amazing!Everything was delicious. The service was paced perfectly and the servers were very attentive. Can't wait to go back

Possibly the best Mexican restaurant on the Southside of Chicago. I lived on the Southside of the city for over 63 years and Mexican cuisine had always been favorite. We were there last Sunday night. It's previous incarnation was home to an Irish Pub (which you can see in the beautiful bar area). The place was fairly crowded but service was quick and very attentive throughout our meal. I had Camarones a La Diablo, one of favorite dishes. This was incredibly flavorful with just the right amount of heat. The sheer volume of shrimps was extraordinary. They were served with salad, rice, beans and strangely with fries swimming in the Diablo sauce. They were amazing. I've never seen this before but I know be back every time I'm on the Southside. My wife had the Chicken Faustus which she nicely shared a taste with me. She could not stop raving about her meal and particularly the seasoning on the refried beans. Again, I cannot say enough about the quality of the service throughout our meal. Also, they have convenient off street parking.
