Absolutely worth a stop in for exceptional food and fantastic service. Staff were more than happy to answer any questions I had, though the menu speaks for itself.

I ordered a "Big Beef" sandwich, wet with provolone cheese. Though the sandwich was simple, it was very easily one of the best I've ever had. The hype surrounding Italian Beef, and particularly Al's, is completely justified. The price was more than fair, and the sandwiches come in 3 sizes. I also ordered a large fry, the price and portions were good.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with all aspects of my visit. I firmly believe you cannot truly experience Chicago without visiting Al's. Thank you!

I'd give more stars if I could. It was our first Chicago beef and hotdog experience. It did not disappoint. I wish I had the lady's name at the register. She was amazing and kindly offered her suggestions. Great food, great customer service, excellent experience.

Delicious! I’ll come back here again. My Italian Beef was delectable and savory with the peppers, no cheese and dip. Warning: eating is messy (for me) with the dip leaking everywhere. Get lots of napkins in advance. The dip is also stinging hot (temperature, not spicy) so watch out. The cashier was friendly, and she gave great descriptions of the beef sandwiches and sizes. The interior has ample seating though the chairs are kinda uncomfortable. Can’t speak on parking cuz my partner and I took a Lyft here. If you haven’t eaten an Italian Beef, I highly recommend getting one here!😋

We had Johnnie's a few days before coming to Al's just to see what is the difference

Both sandwiches were good but Johnnie's is better but I like the bun better here but the peppers overpowered the taste of the beef.

The fries here was bomb though.

Pretty good Italian beef sandwich. I got it dipped, and it wasn't as messy as I thought it would be. The bread soaked up a lot of flavor, and it was super tasty.

Not a lot of seating, but by the time your order is ready, there are usually seats available.
