Wow. Herb is a true gem in Chicago's restaurant scene.
I've been in the city for ten years and love exploring its many amazing culinary offerings. But there are a few really special experiences that stay with me-our dinner at Herb is now one of them. Chef Patty is doing magical things with simple, fresh ingredients. She personally greeted us at our table and guided us through our entire dinner. We went with the full seven course option and it was an incredible journey. Rooted in the delicious flavors of Thai cuisine that make it so popular, every course did something to elevate the experience and add a surprising twist. The plates were visually stunning with balanced flavors. The service was warm and attentive, but never overbearing. It is clear that Chef Patty is passionate about this restaurant, and that comes through in the dishes and the attention to every detail. My favorite dish was the Betal Leaves starter. It was so fresh and unique with a blend of subtle flavors that made us both grin as soon as we put the first one in our mouth. We knew from that first bite we were in for a fun evening. l've been to Oriole, Alinea, El Ideas, and many other Chicago culinary heavyweights. Our dinner at Herb was on that level. This place is a must-visit.

The tumeric trio mushroom soup was something I’m going to dream about, and come back just to have more and more of. It was truly something, and it makes sense why this is in the Michelin Guide. Would 100% be coming back again.

My friend and I went here to celebrate my upcoming wedding. She found Herb which has an affordable tasting menu that has 3 menu tiers. We went with the middle option, which was 5 courses and dessert. Each dish was expertly crafted and really let the main ingredients shine. Chef Patty also checked in on us frequently to ensure that we were satisfied with our meal. Our favorite dish was the chicken coconut curry; we could have eaten the curry sauce with just rice because it was that good. Will definitely be back in the future!

Amazing experience at Herb! Chef Patty was friendly and talked to us about each dish. We got the plant-based tasting menu and everything was fresh and unique. Had dinner here and the food and service amazing. Our server, Jenny, offered some amazing recommendations and too wonderful care of us. Chef Patty came out at the end and it was lovely to see hear about her passion for the food. Some of the best Thai I’ve had. Highly recommend.

Jag verkligen inte veta var man ska börja, men för förrätter, allt var perfekt. Den mat är verkligen fantastisk och jag har varit i Thailand så jag vet lite grann om den mat. Herb gör en spektakulär twist på det traditionella rätter och sysselsätter kreativa och oväntade kombinationer (Lotus rot i varma mackor soppa, till exempel) att ge underbar och välsmakande mat. Servicen var fantastisk, Debra, ägaren och kocken som är från Thailand pratar till alla gäster och har en verklig passion som visar upp i Roms härliga måltid. Portionerna är generösa och även om vi hade de fyra rätters tasting menu vi hade nog ta - bort för lunch den följande dag. Vi ser fram emot många fler måltider på denna spektakulära restaurang och det är ByoB så bli inte avskräckt av menyns priser och, som jag sade de delar är generösa.
