We visited for a friend’s birthday, and though the restaurant is small, it’s super cozy with a welcoming vibe. They rotate their menu every few weeks, so there’s always something new to try. I loved the crispy fried eggplant, and the fresh tuna with the wrap was a great touch, almost like a taco. A great spot with delicious food and a unique atmosphere!

As someone who love a small corner bistro vibe, I love mfk.’s design and philosophy. This makes me miss Tokyo (small boutique) and Spain.
I found this restaurant while reading the interviews of the owners and loved their philosophy.

The food is above average in the U.S. The menus is not classic tapas you see in some other famous Spanish restaurants.

The crudo was a bit salty, the texture didn’t blend well with the squid ink chip, the chip didn’t provide any additional flavor.

The boquerones, were very good! Very refreshing, a well balanced dish

The tortillas, were AMAZING. It was fluffy, well balanced, has a umami seafood taste. Best dish of the night! Everything in in is delicious.

The parsnips was good, vegetables cooked to a nice texture and the sauce is a plus.

However the croquettes are a bit disappointing, it’s a bit salty, and the texture is mashed potatoes like, thus the flavors in it didn’t stand out. And the food is not warm enough, the fried food should be served on a hot plate.

The Fideos is a bit confusing as I wasn’t sure what flavor the chef wants to convey? the noodles was thin and couldn’t catch the broth, the pork the mussels felt like separated from the dish. I wasn’t sure if this was a noodle soup? Or A pasta?

Overall it was good. would love to see how it grows!

Incredible taste of basque cuisine. A great mix of fresh seafood - highlighted by the gezpacho w/ scallops, capped off with pork belly and insanely tender ribs.

I felt as though the selection of tapas was perfect in quantity since seemingly too many places have too large of a menu which dilutes quality and makes it harder to choose.

And make sure to save room for the cake ;)

Our experience at MFK was absolutely delightful! I hadn’t been here in about 8 years and still remembered how amazing the octopus was. While the octopus is no longer on the menu, everything we had this time was delicious. My friends and I have a monthly Supper Club where we try new places, and though I’d been here before, it was a first for them.

When we arrived, our table wasn’t ready as the inside is quite small. However, the staff made up for it by seating us at a table outside and offering complimentary olives and bubbly. Such a nice touch, and it made for a great first impression! Once our table was ready, we headed inside to a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and very apologetic about the wait, which we really appreciated.

We shared a few plates, and each one was better than the last. The maki tacos were yummy and packed with flavor, the scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious, and the ribs were so tender they melted in your mouth. The server even brought us red wine to pair with the ribs as a gesture for the earlier wait—talk about going above and beyond!

Overall, MFK really impressed us. The service and food were exceptional, and the little extras made all the difference. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Enjoyed a relaxing dinner here and found the food and service both solid. Items are a bit pricey, but for the quality and the fact that tapas in this city tend to be more expensive, I’m not surprised. This is a good option for a nice occasion out. We sat outside, but inside seems cozy and on the smaller side and in a European sort of way (that’s a compliment).

The highlight for me was the basque cake: perfectly dense, moist, and delicious. I’ll go back just for that! The boquerones were good: a nice acidic kick from the anchovies with a little heap of butter on each baguette slice. Potato and smoked piquillo croquettes were tasty, but not a highlight for me—just a little something missing. Ponzu salmon collars had a great savory umami flavor, but all the bones you need to pick out took some of the satisfaction out of this dish for me. It’s a great option, but something to consider. The fideos were on the simpler, lighter end. Not a ton of flavor, but not in a bad way if that’s what you’re looking for. Sometimes you just want a good pasta and seafood without being too rich. I’d skip it next time personally.
