If you are looking for a french restaurant with a nice ambiance and great service, this is your place. I had a delightful Friday night dinner experience with my hubby trying this place on Restaurant Week. We both enjoyed their French onion soup, i highly recommend it! I had the escargot - a bit salty for my taste. For the main dish, I had the mussels, and my husband had the pork chop, which is not in the usual menu (a special they have for restaurant week only). Both were fine. Tried their espresso Martini, I  had better ones, though.

I had the pleasure of dining at Mon Ami Gabi, and I can honestly say it was an outstanding experience. We had a great meal with exceptional service. The deviled eggs were incredible. The escargot was not a garlic soaked buttery mess but instead was more parsley forward than expected. It was surprising but was still very tasty. French onion soup was also good but in line with expectations. Entrees were the cod special and the beef bourguignon. Both were great. Desert was the Mille feuille which was the right level of sweet and was visually impressive as well. I regret not getting our server’s name because he was attentive, made great recommendations, and he did a fantastic job. This is a solid restaurant.

I went here for restaurant week. W
The cheese was exquisite. They had a litany of very unique dishes that my friends and I enjoyed. And we ended it with a delicious dessert. One thing to remember, this place is usually busy so definitely worth making reservation ahead of time to avoid a long wait

Excellently prepared fine French cuisine. Lovely atmosphere in a beautiful building. Perhaps the best baguette in a restaurant I've had outside of France. Wonderful and well trained staff that care deeply about providing a top level experience. Loved the steak tartare!

Jag har varit på Mon Ami Gabi ett antal gånger och det är genomgående bra men inte alltid bra. Maten med fransk stil är alltid utsökt och förutsägbar men inte överdrivet kreativ. Stämningen är mycket trevlig och personalen mycket uppmärksam. Det är rimligt prissatt. Jag kommer säkert att återvända eftersom det är en bekväm stadsdel restaurang, men det finns andra val i Lincoln Park område som är mer förtjänar högsta betyg fem stjärnor.

Mon Ami är en sann go - till. Maten och drycken är alltid utmärkt. Den fenomenala maten kompletteras alltid av den vänliga, tillmötesgående och engagerande personalen. Jag har aldrig haft en negativ upplevelse och det kommer att förbli överst på vår lista.

Vår familj firade nyligen födelsedagar på Mon Ami Gabi. Det var en blandad upplevelse. Plussarna var den utsökta maten och servicen. Vad mer kan man begära? Tyvärr fanns det betydande minus också. 

Först maten, som var 5 stjärnor. Vi hade en fast fyra - rätters måltid. Varje rätt var utsökt. Våra förrätter var Escargots de Bourgogne & Melted Brie. Det var evigheter sedan jag åt scargots, de var jättegoda, tillagade med smör, vitlök & persilja & serverade ur skalet i en pipande het panna med knaprigt bröd. Den Melted Brie var förberedd med valnötter & aprikossylt, så gott! Vår andra rätt var ett val av antingen fransk löksoppa eller en sallad med endive, radicchio, pekannötter, Roquefort & klädd med en lätt vinägrett. Salladen var god, god & lätt. Min huvudrätt var filead med rödvinsreduktion och pomme frites. Biffen var perfekt, men pommes frites var bara OK. Vår dessert var en liten chokladmousse i ett glas med små chokladbitar i. Det var bra men inte anmärkningsvärt. Vinet våra värdar valt för oss var ett bra ackompanjemang. 

Vår server var exceptionell. Han var glad och uppmärksam; vår service var perfekt paced. Han var snäll mot ”små” i vår grupp, som var trötta efter en heldag, väluppfostrade, växlade mellan att äta & slumra till. 

När det gäller minus; bokningen gjordes en månad i förväg, men vi var tvungna att vänta ca 30 minuter för att sitta! Belysningen är mycket svag, och borden är mycket nära varandra. Det var också mycket trångt och mycket bullriga. Så atmosfären inte lämpar sig för samtal eller avslappnad njutning av måltiden, alltså mitt betyg. 

När det gäller minusen.

Vår 56-årsjubileum (berättade dem med reservation) var otroligt speciell - hälsade med en härlig flöjt av champagne. Maten, vinerna, serveringen Michelle och den festliga atmosfären på restaurangveckan i Chicago gjorde det till en av de mest minnesvärda bröllopsdagar vi någonsin haft. 
Michelle kände inte bara till vinerna de hade, utan också till ursprungsregionerna. Det var en fröjd att prata med någon som vet så mycket om vin! 
 Det var en underbar kväll för oss. Vi bor i Freeport, Illinois, en två till tre timmars bilresa från centrum Så, även om vi aldrig hade varit i Mon Ami Gabi (min vän, Gabi) vi kände oss mycket varmt och uppriktigt välkomna. Varje plats var fylld med en entusiastisk grupp matgäster. Vi kunde höra behagliga röster runt omkring oss, och vi behövde inte lyssna på någon pipig bakgrundsmusik. Coq au vin som jag hade var täckt med rödvinsreduktionssås. Mjöldpaddan var annorlunda än vad vi är vana vid, med mer örter än vitlök. Den tredubbla skopan glass med profiteroles och varm kola desert var perfekt för oss
 Om du planerar att gå under restaurangveckan, skulle jag erbjuda att reservationer för de bästa tiderna fylls upp tidigt, så vänta inte tills två veckor att gå som jag gjorde. 
 Sammantaget en mycket speciell fransk bistro, en fin restaurang.

Servicen var bra, restaurangen härlig och byggnaden den ligger i var FANTASTISK! Maten var dock ungefär genomsnittet. Kycklinglevermoussen var hemsk. Och pomme fritesen var i princip friterade potatisspån, majoriteten av dem var under 1” i längd och långt överkokta. Det såg ut som vi fick botten av fritöskorgen. 
All mat var genomsnittlig i bästa fall. Synd, vi såg fram emot att äta här.

Detta är en fantastisk high - end plats för middag före eller efter att ha besökt djurparken för "ZooLights" under julsäsongen. Restaurangen ligger bara ett kvarter från djurparkens västra ingång, och det klassiska franska köket är första nivån. 

Fram till vårt besök insåg jag inte att detta är originalet som inspirerade Mon Ami Gabi i Las Vegas. Även om du saknar utsikten över The Strip, har Chicago original klassisk fransk mat som lyckas vara utmärkt samtidigt som det inte är pretentiöst, inställningen är kul, och personalen är första nivån. Det kommer att ställa dig tillbaka, men du får vad du betalar för. 

Vår mat var utmärkt. Jag gick naturligtvis för min vanliga biff frites bearnaise, min fru hade sin favorit moules frites, andra familjemedlemmar hade anka, en confit förrätt, etc. Allt vi underbara. 

Summan av kardemumman är att detta är en utmärkt fransk bistro upplevelse i en rolig Chicago stadsdel nära djurparken. Det kommer att kosta dig, men det kommer att vara värt det.

Maten var utmärkt. Min fru och jag hade varsin biff frites och var mycket nöjda med kvaliteten på stead och pommes frites. Servicen var särskilt väl, vänlig och effektiv. Ett problem är den mörka belysningen. Mycket svårt att läsa menyn och inte bekväm för samtal. Jag föredrar att se dem jag äter med. Det andra problemet var liten storlek på bordet. Jag kan tänka mig att detta gör det möjligt för dem att betjäna fler kunder men vårt bord var obehagligt trångt.

För mig tappar den sin lyster men priserna är fortfarande höga. Vi har ätit här många gånger. Atmosfär härlig, menyn också. Men all vår mat var lite off och alldeles för dyrt. Jag åt en sallad och en förrättsstor kruka musslor. Min man hade salladen med lite tillsatt kyckling. kycklingen var bentorr, överkokt. Båda salladerna var för tunga på roquefortost och för lätta på sallad. De tog betalt för bröd. Vi hade ingen alkohol. Bill var i. över $ 100. det finns mycket bättre ställen i närheten.

Min dotter, som bor i Chicago medan hon gick på college, hittade denna pärla i en sökning efter franska restauranger i staden för ett år sedan. Vi äter på platsen i Lincoln Park när vi besöker och har bara haft utmärkta upplevelser varje gång. Tjänsten är heltäckande, atmosfär är oöverträffad och maten - och maten är verkligen utsökt. Jag rekommenderar varmt denna restaurang till alla och alla.

Middagen var fantastisk från Escargot till Hummer Bisque till Steak Frites. Men vi placerades vid ett bord intill ett rum där Happy Hour / Christmas Party var i full gång. Folket från partiet flödade över runt vårt bord och bruset var mycket högt. Rekommendera den här restaurangen men håll dig borta från festrummen.

Detta är en klassisk fransk bistro. Stämningen är välkomnande och varm och menyn är exakt vad du kan förvänta dig. Vi hade en läcker biff med pommes frites och en enorm bit lax. Baguetten var perfekt. Det bästa av allt var hur rummet inrättades. Varje bord kändes ganska intim.

Vi hade en bra middag på Mon Ami Gabi i Lakeview-området i Chicago. Maten var utsökt, priserna var måttliga och menyn var omfattande. Kundkretsen var mycket attraktiv. Enligt vår åsikt är detta en av en vänlig restaurang för brunch eller middag, menyn är enorm med många val att välja mellan, biffar, fisk, sallader, desserter är alla underbara! Min fru åtnjutit bara specialen av Rack of Lamb och jag njöt av Steak Au Proive verkligen utsökt! Vinvalet är underbart och så är cocktailsna. Tjänsten är stor och mycket hjälpsam med att hjälpa dig att välja din måltid. Denna resturant är utmärkt för speciella tillfällen eller bara en mycket trevlig kväll ute eller datum natt. Verkligen en pärla!

Det är en fransk stil bistro. Vår servitör, Erik, var toppar. Varje rekommendation han gjorde tjänat för att förbättra maten och vinet (plus spara oss pengar). Maten var fantastisk och räkningen var mycket rimlig. Det är upptagen så gör bokningar. Det ligger i en bostadsbyggnad med dörrvakt och betjänad parkering. Enkel Uber-anslutning.

Bara hade en bra brunch @ Mon Ami Gabi. Ägg beredda perfekt, varm baguette, gott kaffe, det blir inte mycket bättre än detta. De ersatte frivilligt frukt för bacon (älskling bacon, slog natrium lite för mycket igår, så behövs frukt)! Du behöver en reservation, det är väldigt populärt.
