I loved this restaurant. I rarely get a chance to dine at fancy restaurants, but I was in Chicago for the weekend with a friend, and we decided to treat ourselves! The staff at Obélix were very courteous, and the food was delicious. We both got espresso martinis, and my friend got the Moroccan carrots and an escargot dish, I got the pistachio croissant (which looked like a work of art, I almost didn't want to eat it! ALMOST), and the pumpkin french toast. Everything tasted heavenly, and I will definitely be back!

The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was fantastic! We picked this spot for a meet up with six ladies, many of whom I hadn’t seen in years—definitely a great choice. The drinks were superb, and the food was delicious. My only minor complaint is that my lobster crêpe wasn’t as warm as I’d prefer, and I’d love to see a few more menu options. Overall, though, everyone enjoyed their meals. While the richness of the sauces means I probably won’t be a regular, it’s definitely worth trying if you’re looking for something unique!

This restaurant exceeded our expectations from beginning to end. Highly recommend sharing all courses even the French onion soup to be able to sample as much as possible. It is a tight space and recommend 4 or less. A lot of date nights were in the room but also great for friends. The service was on point, not only Alexa did fabulous but the entire team worked to make it a great experience! Definitely going back and may have to start with the dessert and not sharing the Paris Brest this time, Lol

Must Do.  Yes, getting a reservation is difficult, but this is a bucket list restaurant in Chicago.  The combination of American and French cuisine both challenges and elevates your dining experience.  As I dine Fench as my first choice, it takes something special to separate from the others and this place does not disappoint.   But, while the food is e empalary- the service is outstanding.  Brian led team for outer table and you van tell the culture of this restaurant is an added bonus.   So, experiment, linger, and soak in the atmosphere of this special place.

We had a lovely dinner at Obelix! Had no problem getting a reservation for Sunday night when they opened.  A small, intimate restaurant was full but didn’t feel crowded.

The warm bread and whipped butter were a great start.  We had the crispy rice foie Gras - the tuna was a strong flavor but tasty.
French onion soup was cheesy and had a great crouton layer.
The fleischnakka was fantastic! Flavorful and a nice portion. My son said the steak was the best he’s ever had.
The soufflé was excellent and we enjoyed the desert trio - with the Milky Way chocolate being the stand out.

Service was very attentive.

Great experience and would return for a nice dinner!
