We had a fabulous pre New Years visit to the Gold Coast and The Thompson Hotel.

First off the place is in a great location for food, shopping, and entertainment.

The hotel staff went above and beyond and made us feel like more than a number.  They were attentive, engaging, smart and professional. In particular Nicole and Lucas at the front desk were amazing!

All that is good but the room was top notch.  Roomy yet comfortably modern - with a bonus view toward the lake.

We stayed at the Thomson earlier this year and it was such a lovely experience. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and they responded promptly to any additional requests.  The food options exceed our expectations.The bartender were very well versed in making creative mock tails/cocktails. The lamb bolognese was some of the best I have ever had. We will be staying here again this coming January

Beautiful views from our room, and a fantastic balcony. The room was very clean but it was definitely dated (except for the bathrooms, which were updated and very nice!). The staff were very helpful and friendly. There was some construction noise but it wasn't a big deal and didn't affect our enjoyment of the room. There is a fully stocked minibar but it is incredibly expensive....I drank a small bottle of water that was in the room and it was $12. Also, there is valet parking but it is $75 a night.
However, we would definitely stay here again and felt really comfortable and happy with our experience.

Cute boutique hotel in a bustling part of downtown. We came for a couple nights during the holiday time and it was very nicely decorated. Small but very cozy lobby. The service was unfortunately subpar. We had a penthouse suite and getting something as simple as ice took hours. Also when we brought it up with the front desk, they treated us very coldly with one lady fully ignoring us when we came up to the desk. I have Hyatt status and booked a penthouse suite to celebrate a special occasion with my friends, I would have hoped for slightly better service than that. Left a sour taste in my mouth.
