The xo sauce on the tuna belly was delicious and the tuna belly melted in your mouth but I would opt for other dishes. The fries could use some work, unsatisfying. The dry aged burger on the other hand was great and worth it. The ribeye streak was excellent. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a while and I cannot recommend it enough. But the cardamom cake was exceptional! If it’s still on the menu give it a try. I can’t stop thinking about that cake, tender and it had wonderfully balanced spice.

One word: SALT.

Every single item we ordered was heavily salted. From the fries, to the burger, and lastly to the duck. For example, every stick of our fries was coated in flecks of salt.

While the first bite of the hamburger was good, the beef patty slowly became too salty to handle. Their pickled sides weren't anything special, and the burger itself was quite basic. The duck was cooked perfectly (except the crust which was charred and difficult to cut), but again it was too salty. We watched them cut up the salt, and put even more salt, which we thought definitely wasn't needed. The duck is definitely very fatty though, but the flavor was great. The price is hefty though, at $62. The rum sticky toffee dessert was okay, very heavy on the rum. We wished they had used ice cream as a contrast to the temperatures, but instead they used a white chocolate cream. This is also on the more expensive side for the price.

In terms of ambiance, the restaurant was quite dark, and it only got darker as we got there (I believe they turned off some of the lights). The music was loud, the transition from country/pop to war cult music and back to country/pop was definitely "something". Definitely not something I want to listen to while having a conversation, not that we could really hear each other. The service was great though, our waiter was amazing and kind.

Lastly, we had arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday, and there was already a small line waiting for opening. But I won't be coming back. I had three days worth of sodium in one night. Also, had I known all the controversies revealed in Reddit, I wouldn't have step foot in the door in the first place.

Came on a Saturday night at 8pm and the wait was 30mins for 2ppl which wasn't too bad. While the wine selection was decent, the sake martini lacked a bit of oomph. Oysters (we got both the raw and grilled) and smoked scallops were interesting in a good way. The octopus was overcooked and too salty. The duck was excellent (we adored the gooseberries) and the side of fries went nicely with it. The chocolate dessert with smoked grapes was a perfect ending to the meal. Overall 7.5/10.

This restaurant has a really good vibe, ecellent service, and amazing food.  Ordered apps, Oysters grilled and raw, fries, sourdough bread and octopus. All were amazing.  Now everyone had burgers, and I will say there are other great options, but this visit was about the burger.  I am told, this is the best in Chicago and it's holds up. Craft cocktails were available and sounded fresh and unique.  GET THERE EARLY, NO RESERVATIONS. I give this one a 10!

Solid place. I’m not sure if it’s worth waiting for three hours but if you can get in quickly it’s well worth it. The halibut, tomato, and octopus were incredibly good. Sadly we did not get the burger. The duck was also good.
