I grew up in the area and am back for a week for a wedding. After spending the day with an old friend, I convinced him to go out. This was the closest spot to him that was reportedly open until 1. I thought it looked good so we ubered here around 11:30. Upon walking in, the bar was empty except for two other groups of 2 and 4. They were nearing middle age and it seemed like that was the target demographic of this establishment based on the decor. My friend and I sat by the door and ordered a round from the bartender, whose name was Beata according to my receipt. One of the other patrons, visibly drunk, started yelling because he was accused of not paying his tab. It was a quiet, empty bar, and I could hear it all. About 5 minutes after I had ordered my drink, Beata comes and lets me and my friend know that they would be closing in less than an hour (which was a good bit earlier than the alleged 1:00 closing time). So I asked for another drink and she let me know that I can only have one at a time. I then finished my cosmo relatively quickly and then ordered a margarita. What happened next truly has never happened to me before. When I ordered my margarita and she saw my empty glass, she asked me, "Are you trying to get drunk quickly? You're drinking too fast." As a bartender and bar manager myself, I would never stand for a bartender to be so blatantly rude to a patron. Especially in a bar as empty as it was, you want to build relationships, not burn bridges and ensure they're not only never coming back but also takes to Yelp afterwards. It's funny that she was worried about the sober person getting too drunk when she just had a disheveled patron yelling and being hostile. I'm sure he didn't show up that drunk. It truly puzzled me, and we made sure to leave as soon as possible after that. My friend and I both tend bars and agreed we would never ask questions like that so directly and rudely. I wonder if she asks those same questions to anyone ordering a round of shots. The bar was also extremely bright and the decor was strange. The playing of country music also didn't fit the vibe of the bar. Below average cosmo with wrong garnish, adequate margarita served in the wrong glass. If the owner of this establishment is reading this, please train your employees on customer service and proper drink preparation. At least one of them wouldn't know tact if she had the dictionary page open in front of her.

Nice place for a late nice drink. Prices were good. Decent crowd. I would guess the range would be around 30'ish. If everything else is closed in the area. This is a place to go to

Me and two other friends went here to celebrate a 21st birthday. It's quaint, the music too loud at times and they play local sports on the TV. Food is decent, and there is a good selection of drinks. However, the bartended working that night clearly favored regular patrons over newcomers, repeatedly ignored us when we tried to wave her over, accused my friend who was being harassed that she was drunk and had to leave (rather than the man who was harassing her and our party). Very sexist and misogynistic, clearly only working for her money with her regulars. Made to feel unsafe, and refused to accept liability if things kept escalating. Overall, would not go back unless I suddenly become a sad middle aged man picking fights with girls old enough to be my daughters.

Cute place in downtown Des Plaines, friendly staff and it had a nice crowd when I came in for a friends fundraiser. They do serve food and they weren't kidding regarding their pizza, it's delicious, fresh ingredients, and tasty. The drinks was good, they have darts, and a shuffle board.

Let's see, we walk in tonight and sit at the end of the bar... really just wanted a beer. The "bartender" is clearly having a fun night. Doing shots with friends, dancing with bills on his forehead, throwing ice around... hilarious stuff. Unfortunately we (and other customers) were ignored for 20 minutes, so we went elsewhere.

Townie bar that plays Creed and other terrible pop rock all night. Fat door guy with a crew cut says, "No headbands aloud": the first sign you've entered a classy joint. What did you expect, though? You're going to a bar in Des Plaines. You'd think they'd offer cheap drinks as a consolation, but no. 2bad4u. If you want to play darts with some nerds while rocking out to music no one likes, hit up Miner Street Tavern yoh!
