This restaurant is a nice establishment to grab fast casual Mexican food. It's counter service, and the ordering is easy. You select your choice of protein, then select how you want your protein to be consumed (i.e., in a taco, burrito, bowl, quesadilla), and then you select your toppings. The menu options include choices of sides and beverages. On my recent visit here, my party and I received good, friendly service. The restaurant was clean and brightly lit. We ordered a chicken burrito with everything in it, a veggie bowl with no rice, chips n queso, and a kids' meal that came with taco, chips, and a drink. The food was ready in a timely manner. It tasted good. The burrito was huge and filling. The accompanying salsas were flavorful. The veggie bowl and the chips n queso were tasty and delicious. We enjoyed our meal and had a nice experience. I would definitely go back to Big Wig if I am near this location or their other locations.

Management and staff were both very helpful in promptly fixing an issue with the system properly applying a discount. Tacos were great and generous portions for a reasonable price, with lots of options for customization. Food came out pretty quick despite our big order!

Definitely putting this into my regular rotation! Food was a good price for how filling it was, and sooo yummy. Not usually a big carne asada fan, but it was killer here. Guy working the cashier was really nice and helpful, very good energy! (:

The wife had an a-ok and good sized chicken taco from here for $3.60. Their chicken taco vessel ($10.80) consists of 3 tacos but you can just order one taco if you like and as she did. Their dining space is calm and airy and an uncrowded weekday lunch was a pleasant experience here. Parking in the area is metered street parking for $2 per hour.

This place has an amazing Margarita although you get more ice than Margarita. I don't know if this place has changed places but the last two times I've gone there, they burned all of the meat.

We had another great yelp experience at Big Wig Tacos and Burritos in Evanston. The menu could not be any simpler or easier to understand. First, you pick from Skirt Steak, Barbacoa, Avocado, Chicken, Veggies, Chorizo, or Mahi Mahi as your protein. Then you pick your vessel: Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas, Nachos Bowls, or Tortas. Lastly, you can order a side of: Rice and Beans, Chips and Salsa, Chips and Guacamole, or Chips and Queso. They also offer fountian drinks, Orchata, Hibiscus Tea, and Jarritos. I ordered a bowl with Skirt Steak, Rice and Beans, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Sour Cream and 2 Cheeses. The bowl already comes with rice and beans, so you do not need to order a separate side of this. The steak was cooked very well and the portions in the bowl were large. In fact, I almost did not finish my bowl, but it was so good that I managed to finish it. To drink, I had a hibiscus tea that was really delicious and refreshing. All orders are made fresh to order in an open kitchen. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they have two other locations, one in River North and one in Logan Square. Owner/Chef Jose Estrada explained how he came up with the concept and recipes for the restaurant, and boy, are we glad that he did. We will be returning to Big Wig Tacos and Burritos and checking out their other 2 locations too!

This was my first time at Big Wig Tacos, and it certainly will not be my last! The food here is wonderful, very tasty and fresh. All of their food is made to order. The ordering process is very easy. You pick your protein, then your vessel, and then you pick your sides and drink. I had the three skirt Steak tacos with onion, cilantro, and cheese. I also had a side of chips and guacamole with an Horchata to drink. I thought the meat was great, others might say it was a little bland. But, I believe Chef Jose knows exactly what he is doing because he is letting the customer customize their meal with their choice of their delicious sauces. Yelp has helped me discover another great fast casual restaurant.

We had a great time trying big wig tacos and burritos. Wasn't sure what to expect when we got there. The manager was really nice and explained some of the menu and he also reviewed the more popular items. We got chicken burrito, chicken taco kids meal, steak taco kids meal, and happy hour margaritas, which was half price. The kids meals had good portions. My kids are spread out in ages and the kids meal was able to satisfy the needs for both. The chicken was so yummy, and tastes like the meat was marinated, and placed over grill. There was plenty of seating inside of the restaurant and they had cool graffiti art, which matched the area that is full of wall art. I would definitely be back again and I had a great time with the family.

My foodie friend recommended this place and so we went on a Saturday evening. I liked that you can order using a computer when you walk in. I selected two steak tacos, chips and guacamole and my favorite: horchata. I opted for the large and it was in a bucket (a Chinese soup take out container). The tacos were good. Flavorful. And the chips and guacamole were decent. I really liked how the chips were warm. I loved the red salsa that they had. The horchata was okay. The container it came in was huge! Service was reasonable and the place reminded me a lot of five guys in that you order and you wait for your food to be ready at the counter for pick up. A few notes: be prepared to pay for street parking. I had to download an app because the meter did not take my credit card. We opted to sit at the booth-like seat and the back was hard wood/not cushioned. This place has fun art.
