I think I came on day 2 of this location being open. Even so, I thought this place had some pretty tasty food. While not perfect, I think this was an excellent addition to downtown Evanston. I kind of wished there was more of an explanation of how to order. It looks like there is a plate, a sandwich, or a salad version. I guess it's kind of Chipotle style, but I was curious on what the sandwich would entail. I just went with the plate as it seemed like the most simple and if there was something I didn't like, I could just skip it. Here's what I had: Hummus: Excellent and a decent portion. I wish it came with a full pita instead of a half. Chickpea Salad: I hated the taste of it. I think it might have been me, but that was a miss for me Chicken with rice: Outstanding! The highlight of the plate. Cooked perfectly and served nice and hot. They offered to put on the hot sauce and I said "yes"! Whew, that's a spicy sauce! Loved it Add a $2 water and we are in business! The water was some kind of Icelandic brand which was a nice change from just Ice Mountain. As for price, everything cost me $15 which isn't bad for downtown Evanston. For the quality and portions I got, it worked! The only other downside is the place is a little small, but it's looking smaller with all the people in line right now. I really liked this place and o can see it going pretty well!

Oh, It's back! This used to be across the street where Tomo is five years ago. Remember that! Now there in the old space where Taco Bell used to be at. And now Taco Bell is next door (see our review). I the Meatball Salad & The Medi Salad w/ spring mix and Labneh. The staff and service are OMG.

Although similar to the old spot across the street, no one here knew what they were doing. The menu is confusing as previously noted, and the servers just nod. My sandwich was on either pita or falash and the guy chose pita, cracked it trying to open it and I said make it falash. He had no idea what to put on it and I had to help.... Then it was passed to another untrained guy who put one chicken tender on it before the woman behind the register said Stop and put three tenders on it please. It still lacked options like pickles and onion and she went back to recreate it. Tasty but who knows what it really should've been presented like.... Only pop in cans and no recycling option except on the street outside. I predict a short life unless there's a lot of training for employees. It'll be a while before I return..... sad because I really enjoyed the old place!
