Huge thanks to Taco Diablo Evanston for generously donating lunch to my Spanish class! As one of my favorite local restaurants, it was such a treat to share their incredible food with my students, who were absolutely enamored with every bite. They were so grateful and could hardly believe they were getting this opportunity. The tacos were a hit across the board. We're truly thankful for the support and deliciousness! I have been a Taco Diablo regular for years! The feeling of sharing their food with my students and having them rave about it was incomparable! ¡Muchísimas gracias, Taco Diablo!

My daughter was playing in a tennis tournament at Northwestern. As an alum I'm always excited to be back on campus. We were both hungry after (her probably a little hungrier from a long day of matches) and i suggested we find something casual in the area. I'm always blown away by how far Evanston has come since my college days and wish we had 1/4 of the amazing restaurants they have now. My daughter was in the mood for tacos so we stopped in here. I quickly realized this was in the same spot of one of my favorite college spots, Lulu's, which had sadly burned out. I was beyond excited when they said they still offered Lulu's menu. I have fond memories of their ginger chicken salad. I ordered the lulu's bento box, which included my favorite salad. The ginger dressing and crunchy noodles on top were as amazing as i remembered. I immediately texted my college friends about what i was eating and we all agreed it was the best salad ever. It also came with sesame noodles, cucumber salad and dumplings. It was a lot of food and not the healthiest meal, but tasty! My daughter enjoyed her tacos as well...and both of us also liked the complimentary chips. Our waitress was lovely and attentive and indulged me as I told her over and over how excited i was to be eating my favorite college salad 20 years later. Next time I won't wait so long to come back!

Close to if not the best tacos I've ever had. Wonderful service with prompt seating and a very attentive waiter. Cool vibe inside, dimly lit but not too dark. The OG margarita was very tasty, albeit a bit pricey. Warm chips and two kinds of salsa were complementary. We will be back next time we're in Evanston.

Came at 1530 on Saturday. Ordered the Taco tacos tacos. 2 of the beef baracoa and 1 chicken. Each was to perfection. Service was prompt. And the food was delicious and perfect Pricing is very reasonable

If you're looking for great Mexican food in Evanston you found it Taco Diablo is a fan favorite and my personal favorite the food here is absolutely incredible I recommend trying any of the tacos and the appetizer of choice for me is the shrimp phenomenal

Stopped in to get some tacos to go. So welcomed that I sat at the bar, had a drink and stayed for lunch. The bartender was very helpful and recommended a lunch special. Two tacos and a beautiful salad 12.99. Includes chips and two salsas. Those chips alone are delicious! A red and a green chili salsa- yum! Then the salad came- beautifully food! So many good, fresh things in the salad: Carrots, black beans, cukes, all good. Then the most amazing tacos came! Fresh, warm ho-made corn tortillas with fresh greens. Not loaded with beans and cheese. Just fresh ingredients! I can't wait to come back and try more things on the menu.

Cool looking Mexican place with pretty good drinks and food. It's not authentic but it's not trying to be so have the correct expectations for it. Taco Diablo is one of the places in Evanston good for a fun atmosphere with loud music and people. At lunch it's a lot quieter but also cheaper. You can also actually then get a good seat. At lunch we came for the specials to save a few bucks. It's a better time if wanting to explore the menu. The later times are busier and the service can get slow. Of course margaritas. There's a lot of good ones. It's about $12 each. There's other cocktails as well, including Mezcal. Good smokey liquor. The best is the An Acquired Proclivity, which is Campari with Del Maguay and Fidencio Mezcals. As for the food we got the Lunch Special of course. It's about $12 to get a salad and 2 tacos. These have a protein choice, and we got the Impossible vegan meat in these. Small but good. These were spicy with the guajillo and tomato chili avocado salsa. Rest of the menu has other classics. There's barbacoa if wanting to get meaty. Good place for not quite authentic Mexican food. It shares a space with Five & Dime, among others. The cocktails and margaritas are strong, and there's options for meat eaters, as well as vegans and vegetarians.

I wouldn't say the food here is authentic, but it is good, the service was great, and it got the job done. Chips and salsa were tasty - no complaints. Again, our server was friendly and attentive. The food came out quick! A torta, some tacos, and a chile verde plate was ordered. We liked it - none of us were particularly blown away by flavor, but we left satisfied and full. Nice ambience, cool bar area (we were sat next door) and good beer selection. 4 stars is appropriate
