My niece and I were in town for a funeral we pulled over to park and spotted Scratch Public House. This was the best decision ever the burgers were five stars . Excellent customer service

Featuring sports bar food, I found Scratch Public House a great place for lunch and a beer. Metered street parking in a good location made it easy to catch a quick meal. Had a burger w/fries and it was great. Place was not crowded and there was only server, but service was great. There are a number of dining options in Oak Park, for a quick meal in a sports bar setting I don't know that you can do much better than Scratch Public House.

Had the Scratch burger and it was delicious. They have a good selection of beers on tap. Service from the barkeep was great. He was knowledgeable and friendly. Kudos to him for great service and knowledge of food. I was there with a friend and would definitely return for a date night or friend outing.

Went here for dinner with my family. The food was good and the atmosphere was nice, but the drink experience missed the mark. The first three beers we tried to order were all unavailable, and our server had to come back each time to let us know. After a few attempts, we went with a basic option instead. Everything else was fine, but it was disappointing given how much we were looking forward to trying something from their list. Hopefully it was just an off day because the food itself was enjoyable. We will probably give this one another try.

Friendly service! Came on a Friday night, so there was a guitarist getting ready to perform. We enjoyed his music and ordered our food. We got the cheese curds which came out hot and amazing. I ordered the shrimp tacos which were really good... full of large shrimp and a good slaw. My husband got the Italian beef egg rolls, which he said were just ok and my kids got an Italian beef sandwich and one ordered mac n cheese, which she wasn't thrilled about. Willing to try again, loved the live music for sure.

Scratch is a great local bar and grill. This is a family-friendly restaurant with food that is way better than your typical bar food. They have great specials, delicious but unpretentious food, and a nice list of standard and craft beers and tasty standard and craft cocktails. You'll find something good to eat and drink here. This is also a sports bar and they will show all your major sporting events on multiple TVs. The place is well-kept and clean. And the staff really cares. They are super friendly, interactive, and will do everything they can to help you have a good time. And they have some really fun special events - Wednesday night trivia, kids movie nights, etc. And a fabulous event space upstairs. This is one of my go-to places on Madison. Come try it and it will likely be one of yours too.

Amazing food. We'll go back to have a drink and eat, as we stopped to pick up dinner to go on a whim. Wow! The pot roast grilled cheese was ridiculously good, the cheese curds were amazing and the burger phenomenal. Hats off to the chef!

We went here a while back for dinner, I forgot to write review. We had burgers and like others have said very dry. Neither one of us finished our food since it was very subpar. 10/25/25 update. I am not sure owner of this biz is all there....any negative review he responds with just 3 dots. The proper response would be to apologize for the bad experience.

I ordered a Swiss cheese hamburger with fries for delivery (which arrived quickly). I have enjoyed Scratch Public House in the past but this was beyond belief. With both the burger and the fries, all I could taste was salt. It was as if the entire meal had been doused in ocean water. Never again! In looking over earlier reviews, it is striking that the owner mostly responds to negative reviews and typically does so with a defensive and snarky tone. That's unfortunate and unbecoming.
