Chicken will bowl you over! S&J grill is located in Hillside Bowl. They established their presence around 2015. They serve breakfast until 11am and have Soul Food Sunday. (which makes since since two big churches are right next them) Wings is the only thing I can say I've really tried. If you typical go to Uncle Remus or Joe's (which I really don't understand why you would) The wings are better and better priced. Flavors regular, Buffalo, Lemon Pepper, BBQ, Honey BBQ, (??? mango bbq ...I think that's the last one) Seasoning for lemon pepper can be a little heavy. Buffalo I can eat but they dip the wings in cold sauce so the temperature is a drastic change if you're eating regular and lemon pepper at the same time. Notice on their own Facebook a photo of jerk wings but but received a super vague answer when they do have those jerk wings. "We post it on Facebook" (problem is they hardly have any post and posting the SAME photo on their timeline ) I believe the place has a lot of potential. Hopefully they get out and promote more as It took me a almost a year before I even notice them and I live 5 min away. (An expired groupon post is how I notice them) Wings are good. Best description I was told, "taste like something I make at home." and I agree,

Who is that Chef??!! I drove from Rockford, Il. (2 1/2 hours) to get here. The Manager in the front (Latonya)was incredible , she took everybody's orders quickly, very awesome & polite. She provided excellent customer service.That Chef made some of the BEST food I've ever had., I traveled overseas for 5 1/2 & a 46 states in America as well, I KNOW FOOD, I'm also a picky eater. This Chef needs to be in a food competition, the food was INCREDIBLE. This Chef is about cooking , not on his cell phone like most other establishments arguing with their baby-mama's & putting anger in their food. This place was clean & new looking, everybody was getting along & happy. This is a 5 star establishment..I came here at 1:50 P.M. on December 9th,2018. Parked my Navigator just fine. Plenty of space. & the place was full & friendly. I'm going to tell ALL my Active -Duty & Veteran friends about this place.I can't wait to come back..
