We ordered 5 baked, individual-size pizzas online to take home for a family celebration. They survived the 20 min ride home quite well. The flavors are incredibly fresh and the sauce is the best I've ever had. My greatest praise is for the gluten-free pizza and the attention to preparing it safely. It came in its own baking pan, and the box was clearly marked with a sticker that included the crust ingredients. This attention to detail and safety is hard to find. Our daughters' favorite is the Margherita pizza. Another had the Ortolana with pepperoni. With this praise comes a few suggestions. It would be helpful to have the size of the pizza listed in the online menu (seems to be about 9" for regular crust and 10" for gluten-free). It's listed on the hone page, but not on the online ordering page. There is a larger family size available, but no idea if gluten-free crust comes in the larger size. For the price, I thought the gluten-free pizza was going to be the family size. I understand the need for the price point considering the crust is imported from Italy -- it's just nice to have that additional info ahead of time. I didn't see any info on the menu noting whether any toppings are gluten-free, but I'm sure a phone call would take care of that. We look forward to returning and trying the take-and-bake option in the future.

This place is amazing! My family loves getting their pizza crust and sauce for our homemade pizza nights--oh my gosh, it's so good! Even better than any pizza you'd get at a restaurant. They also have the most charming and unique items, making it a great spot to find a special gift for someone. The owner and staff are incredibly sweet, creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Oh my goodness, this place is delicious!!!! My new favorite pizza is The Clara. The combination of cheese first then sauce then more cheese is dreamy. Love the take and bake option. Two pizzas are perfect for four people, but order three so you can enjoy leftovers!

A slice of Italian heaven!! Exceptional pizza and costumer service with every visit!!! When I eat here I feel nourished, never bloated!! Imagine my surprise walking into this small, authentic Italian specialty store which boasts the best pizza in town. Coming from Chicago, I was curious to see how this claim to fame would stand up. Wow was I thrilled to have a thin crust pizza with a crispy ring and fresh mozzarella garnish. I ordered a slice of pesto pizza and the chef agreed to add some sausage. Yummy. So if you're in Hinsdale and you want A slice of Italy, head to ALTAMIRA or order ahead(630)755-5252 The chef is super nice and very accommodating. Made my outing a success.

They make a legit authentic Italian pizza. I would absolutely order however I recommend baking at home as they arrive cold when you choose to have them prepare it.

Seriously the people here are the nicest. They chatted with my family for a while, made us DELICIOUS pizza, and gave us free samples of wonderful gelato. It's one of those places that you may not notice as it's amongst a lot of other places in downtown Hinsdale, but it's a gem. Highly recommend. The "five fromage" pizza (I think that's the name) was excellent. I will say- my Margarita pizza was a little burnt. It still tasted good, hence the 5 stars, but I could see some people being turned off by that. If you don't like crispy/a little burn, I'd recommend telling them that so they don't cook it as long.

Stopped for a quick lunch. While there, picked up pre-made meatballs for my husband. The ingredients did not state salt. Confirmed with the owner, little salt added, just the salt in the cheese that is inside meatball. My spouse has heart failure, low salt is hard to find. He RAVED about the meatballs. Low on salt, HUGE on flavor. He is in love. We will be back!!!! Thank you so much for healthy options!!!

Altamura is big on flavor but a bit small on portion size so make sure to order the large pizzas for group sharing. You'll want more! This great little restaurant/foodie store takes me back to the early 2Ks when specialty foods and exploratory cuisine/travel were all the rage. We lost a lot of great places like this over the past decade. However, this shop is right at home in the heart of Hinsdale where a love of high end ingredients, adventure, and small-shop craftsmanship is alive. The menu is small but the combos of flavor are just so well-crafted. We tried 3 pizzas and a salad and only disappointment was that we got smalls! It's a take-n-bake concept but they will bake them for you if they have oven space. In a time where you can't travel, a restaurant that takes you on a journey while supporting local is extra special. Added note: consider baking ALL the pizzas without a charge. Your product is best made 100% by YOU, the pro. We could easily burn these pizzas and ruin your lovely creations.
