Small place and kept up well and quite clean every time I have been there. The food is tasty, the service is good but the value is what I like most about Granny's: The price you pay is well worth it. The portion sizes are not huge as they will satisfy you without making you feel overloaded. The reasonable portion sizes help keep the prices very good. I also like how they keep their cooked vegetables in their breakfasts on the crisper side. I have recently become a regular and will continue frequenting Granny's for the foreseeable future.

Food was typical for a breakfast diner, nothing exceptional, but tasted good and filled my belly. Coffee was a bit watery, but again, typical of an establishment where they cater mostly to the elderly crowd. Only complaint with the food was that the butter for my pancakes (brought to me in a plastic soufflé cup) had breadcrumbs in it. Kind of off-putting. None-the-less, I didn't complain, I just didn't use it. As far as service; it was pretty terrible. Not a single smile from the older female server and she was short with me at every interaction. She never asked me how my food was, nor did she ask me if I needed anything else before dropping off the check (which I did). Come here if you want service without a smile or any kind interactions. Didn't get the "Granny" feeling from this place, unless your granny is unwelcoming, cold and doesn't like you. There's a lot of breakfast places in the Chicagoland area that far exceed this place. Will not be retuning.

The food was much different than any other small diner. It really reminds you of a home cooked meal made from scratch, and the waitress was the most attentive I've ever had. Loved the atmosphere and can't wait to be back!
