We've never had a bad experience at this or the other Fat Rosies we patronized many times over the past several years. It isn't cheap, but the quality and quantity of the entrees makes it worthwhile. The food is excellent. I prefer the fajitas myself, my wife likes the Salmon Poblano. We always get the guacamole with chips to start. A birdbath sized margarita is always ordered. The service at all locations is top notch and efficient. The restaurant is festively decorated and is kept clean-even in busy times. The hallmark of a good dining establishment is how well the restrooms are kept up. No complaints here. Try the places, you won't be disappointed

I would give food 2 -3 stars, atmosphere 4 stars, parking 5 stars, and sitting at the bar 5 stars. I've been here 5 times. Once for a birthday party , where they were wonderful and accommodated a large party and lots of kids , very fun for a big party! Food- just say no to the tuna dish and cauliflower taco.., all tacos are average . Birria is good but crazy overpriced . Margaritas are good especially the specialty ones . Bar service is good and really love sitting at the bar to watch a game. Good chips and salsa One day I'll try fajitas and report back !

Fat Rosie's serves up a very immersive dining experience. With the upbeat music, lively decor, and friendly staff you'll easily feel right at home. The food is overall a very solid product. Was I completely blown away? No. But, the meat is high quality, the vegetables were fresh and well seasoned. This a place you come to for a filling meal and a fun margarita.

Great spot all around! If you are in the area and looking for great mexican food I highly recommend. Not only is the food good but the vibes in here are great. The staff is super friendly and make sure that you have a good time.

We drove past this place so many times and so glad we finally stopped in. From the moment we walked in, Carlos the general manager, made us feel welcomed and offered things we might need for our kiddo. The food was delicious (guacamole, pastor tacos, birria and spicy cucumber margs) and server, Cicero, was fast, knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely coming back soon!

I have been here a few times when I show up in Chicago And yes this is where the purple hotel used to be which means that the parking lot is the place where Alan Dorfman , former lawyer for the teamsters met his demise in the purple hotel parking lot many moons ago. I have been to Central America a lot and there's a debate if the pico de gallo does indeed go on top of guacamole. For me to have that offered on my guac is kind of sacrilege. I noticed that I can't taste the lemon or the lime in the guacamole . Weird This time I had a salmon dish with pieces of zucchini and I found that the it was quite tasty and not spicy in the least Something I do not like is when people are celebrating their birthday they make lots of noise with something that sounds more annoying then a cow bell. I heard this 3 times in an hour and became un-nerved, do I need to calm down and let people celebrate their birthday with whatever noise they want ? Perhaphs yes

Daughter was a friends birthday party in the area so needed to kill some time. Searched on Yelp for nearby places to stop in for a quick bite and a cocktail, here I landed "Fat Rosie's" on Touhy. This will be quick. Nice looking restaurant, with a very nice patio that has an outdoor vibe but it's covered. Food was good. I ordered two tacos, a Shrimp taco and a Fish taco. Mango Margarita was also good, but the service sucks so bad, so bad it's a deal breaker for me. My waiter was a complete ghost after ordering. She never brought water or asked if I wanted water. I asked the guy who brought my food to get her, she again never came so not even sure if he even told her. A manager (she appeared to be this) had to bring me napkins and water after I was done eating. Waitress never stopped back over to ask me if I needed anything. I had to also ask for my check because the waitress literally never returned - Just bad all across the board. Also, I noticed something very strange and it makes you wonder what type of favoritism is going on at this establishment. There was a larger party with three kids and they offered a Mexican hat to these kids when there were two other kids sitting in the same space at tables and no Mexican party hat was offered to them. Not sure if this is how this area operate being it's Skokie, but I'm not used to this at all and I thought this was very strange and disrespectful and it overall just sealed the deal that I would not be back and would not recommend this restaurant at all.

Came here with my coworkers for a meal, had a lovely time. We shared guac and salsa w chips, which were great. Drinks were delish, the interior is decorated so fun! Service was good, there was a guy w a camera that came and took our group pics. He came back after to sell us some group pics, we weren't all that impressed until we came across an animated version of our group pic, it was mimicking studio ghibli and was so cute! My boss did buy one lol we loved it. Everyone loved their meals as well, I got the special that was tuna tartare, it oddly lacked any flavor tho, next time, I'll stick to the usual classics. There's a huge parking lot w easy free parking connected to the restaurant.

It was alright. I had been craving fajitas so my friend suggested we meet here. I didn't like the fajitas and wouldn't order them again, but my friend said the tacos were delicious. The elote was good and our kiddos liked that. The kids menu items were priced okay and the kids liked the quesadillas they shared. They also seemed to really love the music, haha. Service was kinda iffy. They didn't visit very often and I'd like to have had water a little more often without having to wave them down for it. Their drink menu looked great though and I wouldn't mind trying their strawberry jalapeño margarita.... Parking is in the lot beneath the condos, behind the restaurant.

Such a fun experience. Jessica, our server, was incredible. Kind/friendly, fast, and extremely patient, as we were a larger party. The food and drinks were all made perfectly. Flavors were incredible. The steak and chicken fajitas were our favorite. The atmosphere is very fun and playful. We will definitely be back!
