I initially didn't felt right doing this review because restaurants need our support right now. However thinking about it more I felt it's necessary due to health concerns that this can bring to us. Last night I stopped by to eat tacos. As my friend and I were waiting on the waitress (attentive lady and doing her best) we notice something on the floor. We initially thought it was a dead baby bird and began laughing. A few minutes later we realize it was a baby rat. My friend told the waitress multiple times that it was a dead rat and she made no attempt to hide it, clean it, or anything. Instead she kicked it and continue to take orders. To be fair she was the only waitress but then I thought if this is one baby rat then I'm sure the restaurant has many which is why I'm deciding to post this as a concern citizen.

Stopped in here due to the convenience of them being open late at night. Placed my order and somehow people who ordered after me came and went before i even received my food. The waitress asked me my order once again and i confirmed it with her. I get home open my food and theres food missing, theres lettuce and tomatoes on tacos WHO PUTS lettuce and tomato on tacos!? A small mom and pop place in Melrose Park on Lake St. I go for the enchiladas which besides being a little hard to find theirs are delicious. Homemade chips and salsa and super nice people. The prices are very reasonable. I have been going here for about 15 years. That's saying something.

Stopped in for a torta and some tacos after waiting for about 20 minutes they asked me what was my order again. Finally got my food, got home just to then find out food was missing and my food was cold (I live 5 minutes away). If you were considering stopping in because they're open late. Do yourself a favor and just go to El Ranchito across the street, they get your order right, and the food is great

IDK why its called a food mart but either way the food is bomb. ESPECIALLY the al carbon tacos. Now theres plenty of go to spots by where I live but i drive 2 minutes just for the food here. And its 24 hours. What more could you ask for?

The best spot on Lake Street for Mexican, and you have a lot to choose from! Best tacos, flautas, & burritos hands down! Be prepaged they do not speak and English in here so if you have a strange request you're going to need to look up how to say it before you come in. I usually go with the 3 taco dinner with rice & beans, always tasty always fresh.
