This is a casual counter-service gyro joint - it has undergone many name changes, but the ownership (appears to have) stayed the same. The food is consistent day in and day out. They have both American (beef/lamb) and Greek (pork) gyros, which is the big reason I frequent this place. The chicken leg quarters are an amazing value for the portions you get. The biggest challenge is that I don't want to sample everything else on the menu (yet) cause I keep running back to my usuals.

Exceptional is the word used to describe this joint...food and the staff! We've been patronizing this place for some years and I catered my block party from here. Dino was absolutely amazing in facilitating that! Whether you want to eat in, at home or cater an event...this is the place and the Greek gods smile upon it. No one is quite like Charcoal Flame Grill. Don't take my word...check it out for yourself!

I absolutely love the Greek food in here. I decided to have lunch on this place. It is not my first time because I already visited this place last year. Their chicken is so tender, well-cooked and it is so good. Also, the place did not change, it is still the same clean, and cozy place and the staffs are still nice and friendly. There are many options on their menu but and I still chose to order their Greek chicken dinner and my friend ordered the gyro dinner. Service is pretty quick as expected. The food makes me really hungry just by looking on it. I was able to finish mine, the chicken has a huge portion and it is still the same tender and delicious chicken like what I had before. I really enjoyed and loved all of the food. This place never disappoints and I will definitely be back again for sure. Highly recommended!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. First time here & everything was EXCELLENT. The Chicken & Beef Kabobs were delicious. The egg lemon soup was great. They had a constant flow of takeout while I was waiting & the manager behind counter was like watching a great quarterback run the offense.

Consistently good and delicious. In such a competitive industry, they continue to deliver amazing food at a reasonable price point. The staff are friendly and attentive and makes you feel like a true local small business. The dining area is family like and the majority of the time I've been there, the ambiance is quiet and peaceful.

Came here for the "authentic" Greek Pork souvlaki gyro based upon recommendations. It was not that good. It is pre-made in house, but tastes nothing like a fresh pork souvlaki gyro served on almost any street corner in Greece. The meat is re-heated so it isn't very tender. There just aren't very many places serving up an authentic gyro. The tzatziki was ok. But if you order the sandwich and look forward to having French fries inside you are out of luck. You have to pay $5 for entire order of fries. That bumps the total to nearly twenty bucks. A gyro and fries should be eight bucks tops. This place serves up below par food.

Charcoal Flame Grill has been around in the Morton Grove' hood for a while, and their menu offers items such as spanakopita, Grecian boneless pork chops, and daily specials. This place is known for their pork gyros, but I came here to try their American gyros instead. I ordered: +the American Gyro Sandwich, which comes with onions, tomato slices, and tzatziki - the onions and the tzatziki came separately and on the side, which I appreciated; when the gyro meats are made-to-order and are super hot, you don't want the tzatziki sauce to be all warm! Same goes for the onions. Unfortunately, the tzatziki was super bland and super runny, having such a thin consistency. The onions came in a bag, and I wasn't really a fan of the amount of parsley that was mixed in. The gyro meat itself was fine, but the portions seem a little less compared to other gyros spots. Now, the pita, was one of the better ones I've had - it was nice and buttery, super fluffy and fresh. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and there was ample amount of seating inside. There were plenty of call-ins and carry-out orders, too. They have a small lot for your vehicle, and getting out may be a bit tricky if you're trying to get back on Dempster; there are local streets to do a turn-around though. +tasty pita bread +bland tzatziki sauce +friendly staff +private lot for parking

Yes, this one was a pleasant surprise. I'd been told throughout the years that this location is "just okay" and too overpriced. I decided to give it a go. Well worth a shot! Pricey for what you're getting. But very standard in the gyro business as far as paying relatively under 20.00 for a decent sized meal. Their Greek salads look phenomenal as I was waiting for my food. Fresh olives and pita bread! Their Greek styled gyro sandwich was great. A little bit of different type of meat to the American gyro or at least chopped up differently. Comes with some fries already in the pita. Baklava was just okay. I'd hold off. Very friendly and chatty customer service!
