We've been coming to Jason BBQ regularly for as long as we have lived in Park Ridge and that's now going on 12 years. Note though that the Chinese BBQ stand has changed names and before 2021 it was previously known as Mei Mei BBQ. This little BBQ stand is tucked away in a front corner of Richwell Market and has always offered a convenient, reasonably priced, and good quality alternative to trekking either over to Argyle Chinatown or to the main Chinatown. I guess I never reviewed this particular business as I had long considered it just a part of Richwell Market, but it's its own business and most certainly deserves its own reviews and ratings. We've always enjoyed the tip-top delicious chicken, pork, and duck products from here. Mrs. Tam is the youngish lady owner here, and don't fret, her English is quite good too! They make their products right downstairs in the basement, and you might see a fresh batch of whatever being brought up. Their prices naturally won't be quite as cheap as in a Chinatown, but the difference is very reasonable and you can consider it a convenience charge for not having to commute into the city. Thumbs up and that thumb has been up going on 12 years+ now!

Great place in the suburbs for delicious Chinese BBQ. The team is super nice and primarily speak Chinese but can help you too if you don't speak Chinese. The BBQ pork is consistently tasty. The roast pork is good sometimes when the skin is crispy. The roast duck is good too. My favorite princess chicken with the ginger/green onion oil is fantastic. The place is the best Chinese BBQ place in the suburbs.

Their duck is good for anywhere chicago standards. Like I mean their duck is really good for roast duck. Got a lot of flavor. Their chicken feet is pretty average at best though, which is why I give the 4*. Pay cash for no tax. Their char siu is pretty good as well as their beef brisket.

The best authentic Hong Kong style roasted duck, beef stew & red roasted pork/char siew. It's located inside Richwell Asian Grocery store. So the meat is hung up and not refrigerated but fear not, it's monitored carefully as I've visited this place for years and never had a problem. I would say it's better or comparable to driving all the way to Chinatown or Argyle with the famous Chinese bbq joints. Parking is tight in the little lot but easy to find side street parking. $10 lunch specials too.

During the first year of the pandemic, we used a delivery service from Chinatown for Chinese groceries and BBQ food. Then the service closed as the owner wanted to focused on wholesale service. I am glad that my sisters recommended Jason BBQ which is located inside Richwell Market in Morton Grove, that we don't need to go all the way to Chinatown to get our BBQ food. I have been purchasing from Jason BBQ for over two years now. Jason BBQ's owner is a young lady, Mrs. Tam, whom I called "Kit Mui", meaning little sister Kit. She is super friendly and accommodating. She is very hard working and you can always see her working as a cashier and preparing food, such as scooping beef stew in boxes. Mr. Hui is the meat cutter, who is very friendly as well. Our favorites are Beef Stew, which is sold per box, Salt Baked Cage-Free Chicken, and BBQ Pork (Cha Shui). Their Beef Stew is very flavorful and tender. I always called earlier of the day to order to make sure that our favorites are not sold out. Their Roasted Duck, Roasted Pork, and Soya Chicken are good too.

I'm really picky about my roast duck and Pork. After living in the center of great Chinese food (San Francisco) for 35 years I moved to Evanston. So I found Sun Wah (SW) but wanted something closer. This place is really legit. It's in packed Asian market. Tiny aisles. Lots of basic items. The BBQ has the feel of a small Chinese BBQ in SF and Oakland. Ducks hanging in the window. I had a half duck $16 you get a small cup of the wonderful sauce. You get a lot of meat. Unlike SW where it's boney. The skin is crispy and not a lot of fat. The roast pork is soooo good. you have to reheat the meat to crisp up the skin but it's super tasty. Again I think better than SW. I also got the chicken feet. They were good, it's hard to beat the ones in SF. This is definitely my place to grab roast duck and pork. Service is really fast. And they are friendly.

As I devoured the beef stew and chicken feet stew, sitting here still at my dinner table, I just have to tell the world that it was good. It has a home cook feel to it, unlike you buy at the restaurant where the stew sauce runs thin and it was made massively. Sure beats me from cleaning and cooking it, so appreciate this BBQ place carrying such wholesome dishes like these traditional Chinese stews. Totally hits the spot when I crave these dishes.

Dishonest company. They keep the best parts of your duck and give you the leftover scraps and bones. Sneaky! I saw it with my own eyes...they throw the good parts in a bin underneath the cutting board. Next time I will call them out on it. Pro Tip-record them when they chop your duck so you can catch them and show them as proof that they hide the best parts of the duck you paid for to themselves. Another tip- tell them not to chop your duck. Chop your duck when you get home. This way, they won't have the opportunity to hide portions of your duck for themselves.
