I was there on the 4th of July at 9:00 PM. The regular group of patrons were at the northwest corner of the bar, that's where you'll find the bar tenders at, the northwest corner drinking shots with the patrons (I thought drinking while as a bar tender has the same penalty as a DUI if caught by the police) it was obvious to us that the patrons were intoxicated shouting at each other, one was constantly whistling as if he was calling his dog. They had to shout at each other because the smaller intoxicated bar tender with dark hair had the jute box volume at maximum setting. Other patrons were complaining of the volume the second bar tender said the smaller bartender said that the group at the northwest corner requested that it be that loud. Who is managing the place? What was really a shocker was two of the guys at the northwest corner were behind the bar pouring shots for the people on The other side of the bar, one guy actually took a bottle from the bar well and put it to his mouth and drank out of it. Boy would the department of health like to know about this. The management of this place needs to get involved, it's not a private club for a group of loud intoxicated people who gather at one corner of the bar. Oh I almost left out that several times the along with the smaller bar tender stepped out of the back door to smoke pot.

Well. I am super disappointed to be writing this review. I am a regular. I come on Fridays with a group of teachers and I also come on most Tuesday evenings. On Fridays we get great service and our usual server (Biata?spelling) is awesome. On Tuesdays we (my husband and I) usually have Bascia as our server. She regularly prioritizes her male customers, which I get- that's where the tips roll in. Sometimes when it's slower she is very attentive and friendly. A few weeks ago my husband and I went with another couple. We got a decent amount of drinks and we ordered cheese fries. We paid separately. Our check came back and it was around 65.00. My husband paid with his debit card. We filled out the tip and total and left . Fast forward, last night, we walked in and I went straight to the bathroom, leaving my husband at the bar. When I came out he was talking with Bascia and I could tell it was a heated conversation. It turns out that the last time we were there the check had printed with the sub total as 65.00 and the total only rang up as 2 cents. We did not notice that and admittedly my husband usually does not take the receipt when we leave a restaurant/store/bar, etc . She flat out told my husband that he paid with a fake card. She accused him of not having money and talked about how she was in trouble with her boss because we basically pretended to pay and left. We tried to pay her with his card and she gave him a hard time. After some time and convincing she took his card to pay the bill.After she spent about 10 mins yelling at us on and off about how it wasn't her mistake it was our fault etc we decided to leave. After leaving my husband checked his bank account just to see how much money he had at the time of the transaction and there was over $800, in his account. The bottom line is that this bar tender made a mistake and charged only 2 cents on the bill and then placed blame on us , treating us like criminals. I have spent probably thousands of dollars there over the years and I was not given then benefit of a doubt with an honest mistake. It was despicable treatment and it was really disappointing. I don't think I will ever step foot in local tavern again. It's a shame because we were very loyal regular customers.

Terrible. Very disappointed. I had heard good things and thought I would try it. Small Sunday afternoon crowd, but no acknowledgment when I walked in, even though I waved to the bartender. Sat at a table for ten minutes with no one even looking my way. Moved to the bar and the bartender was more concerned with the inventory in the coolers than even asking if I would like a drink. I walked out after twenty minutes of being ignored. I would never recommend this local business to my neighbors.

Found this place by happenstance while attending a convention in Rosemont. What a great find! I will go here every time I am back at that convention center! Great, truly LOCAL spot, with great TVs showing sports, great service, and GREAT Polish food! (The wings are very good as well). But let's focus on the Polish food, awesome! You can tell it is cooked to order. The pierogi was a great new food for me, the potato pancakes and cabbage were great as expected. While we were there we watched the National Polish basketball team win a big game and the locals made us feel at home as we cheered them on. See you guys next time!

great atmosphere, friendly service, gaming machines as well Beata is a great bartender! She will take care of you! I love their beer selection and bloody marys. Their food is very good as well. I love their pierogis and perfectly fried potato pancakes. Big wooden door on the outside to get in, but the inside is very friendly and inviting!

Just what you'd want from a local tavern. Bartender speaks Polish along with many regulars. Good beer specials, great pierogi and other Polish dishes.

Surprisingly great food! Their polish options are great! Potato pancakes are homemade and delicious, burgers are great, and the pierogi's are fantastic. They also have a ton of beer, including some fun microbrews to choose from. The bartenders are always so nice, definitely worth a stop in!

This is my kind of neighborhood place. The food is always consistent and very good. It's typical bar food with a little twist. There's traditional polish food and American food as well as some Mexican favorites. The bartenders are always attentive, especially Basha. If you're into bourbon this is your place. The selection is very good.

Not a spot you would expect to find really good food but Local Tavern has just that. It is what it says it is a local family run neighborhood tavern catering to the neighborhood folks. The decor is nice for a tavern, very modern and spacious. The clientele is the standard northwest side deez, dem and doze Chicago guys. Now I can't knock these fellas because I'm one of them. It's just a description for a cool little true blue Chicago spot filled with cops, city workers and working guys and maybe a coupla bookies. My uncle and I ran into a bunch of guys he grew up with who are transplants from the west side so we fit right in. Other than the owner and bartender I didn't see any women. I didn't try the libations but it looked pretty straight forward beer and a shot with the occasional mixer. What I am impressed by is the menu options and quality of food. Generally speaking menus build up the offerings and often times don't deliver on it. Now here, it's just the opposite. They had a good menu and its descriptions were straight forward as well but the food far exceeded what I expected. I've been here three times now, for breakfast and twice lunch. The menu choices are good with several Polish dishes a few Mexican dishes and standard American fare but the quality and presentation are excellent! It's kind of like your at your aunts house and she doesn't need to sell you with her cooking because you know when it hits the table you aren't leaving disappointed. That is Local Tavern. You just don't exactly expect the quality and service from a neighborhood tavern but it looks as though these folks are upping the ante on the local neighborhood tavern. Successfully so!

We should come here more often. Home cooked polish and Mexican food is delicious with generous portions. Reasonable dinner prices. Good selection of beers on tap. Kasia is an attentive server and bar tender providing great service.
