The ambiance of the restaurant is kinda mexican. Has lots of mexican deco's. I went here for a quick lunch. I ordered a soup and to be honest it really lacks some flavor and taste. For an order of soup and a soda, i paid $27. I cant image.

Do NOT go here if you don't want to get scammed. Me and my coworkers came here to eat in between our routes and we ordered what we thought we could afford off the menu. But when we were going to pay, the prices were not the same. The waitress IMMEDIATELY berated us and began arguing with my coworker. We were caught off guard by the price changes. The prices on the menu are not the current prices of their items. The lady argued with us for about 10 minutes about how the menu is 15 years old. And she even had the nerve to bring in a nice group of people who were dining in, into the argument by saying they've been regulars for years. She then mocked us and said in spanish "Really?! 50$ is too much for 3 of you?" It's not the fact of how much it was. It's the fact that the price was not clear and current on their menu. The waitress was very rude and argumentative. Would not recommend to anyone, go elsewhere. Amigas Restaurant on North Ave. Is 100x better and worth the price.

This place is off the chain!!!! I'm serious about this place! The word won't explain how amazing it is here and the amazing food to eat! I will go back here and eat for sure. I would've never though you could find such an amazing place in Chicago. Come and get here for you food cravings.

This restaurant was violating the governor's stay at home orders, which prohibited indoor dining. They had customers inside and eating. Many were not wearing masks. So, we reported them to the health department. See ya, wouldn't want to be ya.

I was just recently introduced to this restaurant and I am a FAN. Shrimp cocktail was fresh and tasty but my favorite is the $20 steak and lobster plate with rice and salad.. For the price you cant beat that.. Give it a try.

I used to enjoy coming here since it's very close to my home, but I came in ordered a coffee and found a small cockroach inside the cup. I told the waitress and she completely ignored it. The group I was with suggested to leave but decided to stay anyways. I was wrong I should've left. After I ordered a plate of food I found a hair in my skirt steak. I was completely disgusted and since then I've never been back. This place is very unsanitary beware.

Very convenient location. This place doesn't look that great. Hole in the wall type of place. The waitress was very courteous and ordered their molcajete mariscos with their spicy red sauce. I was actually amazed and how great it tasted. Do not underestimate this place. I was sure not disappointed.

Little gem in the middle of town. Ended up in this restaurant cause the restaurant we were going was closed. Couldn't end up in a better place. Amazing flavors, big plates and delicious orchata. We order stake tacos, enchiladas Lara's suizas, and a carne azada platter. Excellent place to eat. Great service!

Agree with Kimberly's review. I ended up going here because I didn't know that El Pollo Vagabundo closes on Wednesdays, so I walked a few steps over to Vaqueros. I ordered a steak burrito and milanesa torta. The burrito was nicely-sized, but the meat was too salty. Inside, there was meat, some lettuce, and that's all that I remember. Nothing at all memorable except that it was so boring and salty. The milanesa torta was one of the worst foods that I've purchased, right there beside Hamburger Heaven's Italian beef. No avocado, very little shreds of lettuce and tomato, paper-thin spread of refried beans. Worst of all was that the breaded meat had a weird taste. I've had milanesa before and I've never encountered that sort of funky taste before. I had to throw this away; it was that bad :(

This is a small restaurant in a less than inviting small shopping strip. Don't let this throw you off. The food was fantastic! I heard about this place from some co-workers and tagged along the next time the group went out. The table shared a shrimp and beer sauce appetizer and a ceviche plate. The chips and salsa were also good, but the default table salsa was hotter than you get at a chain. This might have been due to the fact that my table-mates were regulars, but it was still great stuff. I had steak strips covered in a white cheese. It was very good, and the rice and beans were also very tasty. The tortillas appeared to be hand made and were very tasty. I have found that a place which can get the rice and beans correct can usually do the rest of it well. I also enjoyed my horchata, which was not watered down but very creamy. The rest of the food delivered to the table also looked fantastic and there were no complaints out of a table of six guys. The place is small with a handful of tables, but they do a good job with the small space. It is a bit pricey for the area, but everything was well done and worth the price. Highly recommended.
