Had breakfast with the family at skillet house one Saturday morning and it was delicious. Corned beef was crispy and the eggs were cooked just the way I liked it. My boyfriend had the Mexican skillet and it was so flavorful with the chorizo! Their complimentary coffee was very good too, service was great. Would love to come back!

Quality breakfast diner in Oak Lawn that's been around since I was a kid. I've gone here several times with my grandparents, and now just grandma since it became juts her. They have all the usual breakfast and lunch staples, but at a reasonable house, and you get nice portions. Last time I went I got the special skillet, with a sign of french toast. Easily fills you up, if you can even finish it all. I like how friendly and nice the staff and owners were to my grandma, who comes here quite a bit. They know her by name, and recognize her and treat her well, so that is always great to see. Has its own parking lot. We went prime time noon Sunday, yet still got a booth, though it was crowded. Definitely your go to place if looking for that old school feel in the Oak Lawn area.

This is a very small breakfast and lunch diner in Oak Lawn with perhaps one of the best breakfast dishes around. Bud orders a classic eggs, sausage and bacon w pancakes. All good. Mom had the crepes, full of fruits and big. Where they are outstanding is in their Mexican breakfasts. Their chilaquiles are to die for. Told the manager who said they use their grandmother's sauce and boy it shows. So so good. The service is great. Every 5 minutes offering coffee refills. Many people asking if all was ok. Very busy but worth it. I will be back.

If I could, I would have picked zero stars. The manager is extremely rude!!!! He should not be in this industry. He tries rushing paying customers in and out just to get their money with no regard to hospitality or the customers enjoying their meals in a relaxing manner. When I was there he was waving his arms like he was directing airplanes on the runway telling the customers he needs to get people in and out. I will never go back there.

The food and service were great, but the owner is very brash. The last two times I have been there, she was adamant to let me know, unprompted, that she is the owner. Today, I was going to use contactless Apple Pay, which has been fine in the past at Skillet House. She told me it doesn't always work, took my phone from my hand (so not contactless), tapped it, printed the receipt, and then told me that she cannot adjust for tip when using Apple Pay. Good thing I am a regular and could just Zelle my waitress. I totally understand that cash is preferred, but it is extremely unfair to the servers to not let customers know that totals cannot be adjusted AFTER the payment has been processed. Not a fan of the owner. Big fan of Rachel and the courteous waitstaff.
