Great Pancakes... Quick service... Nice looking restaurant... They use to have wonderful coffee served with real cream, this last time we were given cream and the coffee was weak, I had to add a package of Starbucks coffee crystals. But still a decent place to get breakfast.

There is something so exciting about a good breakfast to me. I appreciate the variety of options at this pancake house. My favorite is the dutch-baby which takes a minimum of twenty-five minutes to prepare. Don't care, I love it and that makes it worth the wait. Service is always both pleasant and professional. The servers constantly check on you and are quick to bring you whatever you need. I appreciate the decor and how the restaurant always celebrates with a theme. Makes for great pictures. Two things I bet you didn't know about this location; (1.) they have a beautiful space available to rent out at an affordable price. (2.) they have a secret syrup available upon request only. Made in house and it's VERY good. Apple syrup.

Easy location on Cicero and decent parking. We were seated immediately on a Sunday morning around 10:15, which was nice. Quick and friendly service. Their portions aren't really big, but the food is good quality. I ordered bacon and eggs with blueberry pancakes. The prices are about what you pay at other places. Nothing special but it's a good staple restaurant.

My wife and I decided to take in a late lunch today. It's a Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. We missed the lunch crowd, the restaurant wasn't busy, we were seated immediately, and we had a hankering for a late keto breakfast. What could go wrong? The busboy sat us, since there was no one at the front door to greet us; it's not the best start for our first dining experience at this restaurant. We got our booth, menus, and water immediately by the same employee. There was no management presence. We waited about 7-10 minutes before our waitress finally made it to our table. I only saw her and one other server working the floor, consisting of only 7 occupied tables (including ours). As a former full-service restaurant manager myself, I'm particularly critical of long waiting periods when it's not that busy. She took our drink order and disappeared for another 5-7 minutes; it was only a cup of coffee! She returned to tell us that she had to brew fresh coffee, but then took our food order at that time. We both ordered omelette plates at $15.99 each, which is unreasonably steep. It's a couple of eggs and veggies. C'mon. The waitress returned with the fresh cup of coffee moments later. There was no flavored cream caddy or artificial sweetener on the table, which created another request, which is further inconvenience. These should already be on the table! I've never eaten at a restaurant that lacked these necessities, which led me to believe that management (if it exists) is cutting costs. The waitress finally delivered our omelettes. My wife's dish was erroneous, so she was forced to wait another 10 minutes. [NOTE: If you ask me to prepare a spinach and Swiss cheese omelette, I'll have it done in under 2 minutes, if that.] The mistake MUST be addressed FIRST, which clearly didn't happen here. My veggie omelette was bland. There was no flavor or seasoning, and the cooks ridiculously skimped on the cheese. I expect buttery, cheesy, and gooey goodness with my omelettes, but these people are more concerned about food costs than customer satisfaction. It was like biting into a soft sponge. It didn't even look appealing, and the bacon was thick-sliced and fatty, not crispy. The omelettes are priced with 3 pancakes, which we didn't care for, based on our dietary restrictions. I wanted to substitute the pancakes with a side dish of cottage cheese. THEY HAD NO COTTAGE CHEESE! Are you kidding me?! A chain restaurant doesn't carry this item?! So, we were charged $5.95 for a side of rubbery bacon, $15.99 for an inferior omelette, and no healthy substitute for unwanted pancakes. We received no discount, either. That was $21.94 for a single omelette, bacon, and extraordinarily slow service. My wife's omelette finally arrived, and she also commented about the lack of cheese. The waitress also blamed the cooks for not reading the ticket properly, when a simple apology and a sense of urgency would've sufficed. Neither one of us finished our meals, mostly because the food wasn't that interesting, so we got containers. I'll flavor it tomorrow morning, butter it up, and add a copious amount of cheese; I'll cook that bacon too. We definitely won't return here. The service is inattentive and hopelessly pokey; the food is boring, there's no substitutions, the menu is limited, and the prices are a complete ripoff. The small details of keeping flavored cream, artificial sweeteners, jelly, and hot sauce on the table should also be addressed. Even the booth wasn't clean. Also, the waitress took the payment at the table, which I don't like. I wanted to give her a 98¢ tip to round-up the tab to $55.00 (!), but she was hovering over us. So, we grudgingly opted to give her $4.98, which she didn't deserve. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. If there was a zero-star rating, I'd select it.

Enjoying a breakfast day. Breakfast was good and service was good here. Food was hot and fresh and they were busy but were still able to accommodate and food came out quickly too.

The order I placed online was 30 minutes late. I also ordered the Swedish pancakes and the sauce that comes with them was not in the bag. Because the sauce makes the dish/brings the dish together, I called to get a credit/refund. The manager Edwardo said he could refund the eggs, but not the pancakes. Regardless of a couple dollars, they messed up and I should not feel uncomfortable nor not heard by the Original Pancake house team.

My friend was visiting from Georgia and she wanted good pancakes so I recommended The Original Pancake House. I usually frequent the location in Oak Forest which is always outstanding...excellent food and service 10/10. We were closer to this location so we tried it. I ordered the diced ham and cheese scramble with a side of bacon, crisp. The scramble was excellent, the bacon, not so much. It was so hard and burnt. When I shared this with the assistant manager , she told me that's what you get when you order crisp bacon. My response was this isn't crisp, it's burnt. I ordered it based on ordering from the Oak Forest location and it is never this hard or burnt. I asked if it could be remade and she said no. I would be charged for another order if they remade it. I asked several times but the response was the same. My girlfriend tried again and asked if it could be removed from our bill but again no! I thought this could be added to our family's list of go to breakfast spots but the non accommodating attitude has changed my mind. I rarely complain about my food but $6 for 3 strips of inedible bacon in this economy is just a waste of money. I won't be back and cannot recommend,

The service for my take out order was terrible. I ordered a turkey sausage meal with pancakes and eggs and a French toast meal with eggs and bacon. When I got home there was one fork one syrup and one jelly in the bag. So I called back to let them know they didn't give me enough syrup and was told by the manager(Edwardo) that that was all I get because according to him it's 50 cents more if I wanted another syrup because syrup doesn't come with French toast and you only get one syrup for three pancakes. He was very nasty and rude. He never addressed why he gave me one fork for two meals but told me he was the manager and these are his rules. Smh I will never go back

This is my first visit at this location. The setup is beautiful! I ordered a spinach omelette with pancakes, grits, cranberry juice and tea. Oak Lawn location is a better setup . I made sure I took photos . The teacups/ coffee cups are even stylish but they did not have any for me to buy. My server Melissa was pleasant and helpful in the request of removing an intoxicated loud person. Thank goodness his friend decided to remove themselves .She retrieved the manager so we all could continue to have a pleasant experience at this beautiful establishment.
