I've always wanted to go to a paint party but never saw one that I was interested in. I didn't want to paint scenery, etc. I wanted something different. Lo and behold, I saw a Facebook event at Hamburger Mary's hosted by Studio 928 and knew I found my perfect match! The events are themed like no other I have ever seen: Prince, Whitney, Michael Jackson,etc. and I had to try it! Now yes, I am an artistic person : I took 4 years of art in high school and 1 in college. But that was a LONG time ago. And my strong areas were abstract, layout, airbrushing,etc NOT people,(and I really didn't do a lot of work with acrylic paint) so I knew it would be a challenge for me in that sense. But I wasn't going to be perfect, I was going for fun and a new experience. And that is exactly what I got! Cheryl is a blast! She has a fun personality and is SO knowledgeable , patient and helpful You are not going in just to paint, you are going in to learn. She shows you how to mix colours, how to do shading, how to work with the paints,etc. and is always going to each person helping them out, giving suggestions,etc And in between instructions, she's telling jokes, asking trivia questions and giving away prizes. She completely set the bar for me for paint parties and not only am I glad that my first experience with one was with her, I don't even want to go to any others! If you think that you cannot paint or are not artistic, you will completely surprise yourself with what you can do. Cheryl has a way of bringing out the artist in everyone! I had so much fun at my first party that as soon as I got home, I set up an event set up for the gym that I go. We had it today and everyone had a blast! I HIGHLY recommend Studio 928 for ANY occasion and just for a fun afternoon. Check out their website and get yourself signed up for an event! You will not regret it!

I attended​ an event here to paint Prince. I believed I had NO TALENT in painting but after Cheryl showing me so little tweeks and tricks of the trade I actually painted a picture that I proudly display in my office. I went back for more...​I now have one of my beloved pet. It was a fun and engaging event and you get to take home your present.

Attended a springtime Sip-n-Paint at Hamburger Mary's in Oak Park. It was a very fun event, my first ever, and perfect for a Saturday afternoon. The venue had great food, drinks & service prior to class beginning. The workspace was all prepped and ready for attendees with wonderful supplies and materials. Canvas' were all outlined with our subject and Cheryl provided great guidance with respect to which brush to best use, how much paint to load on brushes, how to mix shades, and how to both paint the canvas and add contour for depth. Cheryl is a very warm and welcoming person. She fills the event with happiness, fun, music and laughter. There were some trivia questions asked which lightened the mood even moreso. She moves easily among the attendees offering feedback and advice if needed. Highly recommend. Grab some of your BFFs, or your hubby, enjoy an afternoon doing something different, and enjoy a cocktail or two. Great value and definitely a good time. Walk away with happy memories, smiles, and an art piece of your own.

I wasn't sure what to expect especially since I can not draw a straight line much less paint! This event was SO MUCH FUN. In addition to the fun folks with the same love of Prince as me I learned even I can paint when guided by solid instructors. Not only did I leave with a fun piece of art for my wall, I left with a little boost of confidence and pride that I'm not so artistically lacking as I thought I was. I definitely recommend this. Tons of fun.

We did a virtual team building event (during COVID 19 pandemic and lockdown). Cheryl is clearly a very passionate artist and was in her "zone" while helping us (amateurs) throughout the party. If the virtual event was this much fun, I can't wait to do an in-person event there. You should do it!

I've gone to several paint events hosted by Studio 928 and this is the ultimate class. Cheryl is very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. Whether you're a novice or experienced painter there is always more to learn with her. There's never a dull moment between the instructions, games and prizes, or jokes. I highly recommend taking a paint class with Studio 928. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. I plan on taking many more.
