A craving for fish led me to ordering from Chicago's Home of Chicken & Waffles online via Uber Eats delivery. At the time, the restaurant was listed high as I searched for southern food nearest to me. Also, its 4.3 star rating out of 7000+ was the assurance I needed that I would receive quality food. Looking through the menu, the pescatarian in me was drawn to mario's catfish sandwich which comes as either southern fried or grilled farm raised, with the option of either fries or potato salad. I ended up ordering the sandwich in the form of southern fried, with potato salad as my side order. It took twenty-five minutes from the time my order was acknowledged by Uber Eats to the arrival of it at the hospital I work out of. Much praise to the Uber Eats delivery driver, Walter for making that happen at that reasonable time, as well as meeting me at the main entrance of our hospital where I waved confirming that I saw him. And Walter confirmed that it was me grabbing the order, which I cannot thank him so much for. I loved the potato salad! Seeing it seasoned made me curious of its taste which ended up being far from a disappointment; It was by far the best potato salad I have ever had, and that is not exaggeration. Now what I found interesting about mario's catfish sandwich was that it was placed on a hamburger bun rather than a sub-style bun. Even with it on a hamburger bun it was nicely presented inside of a styrofoam container. It was lightly seasoned, topped with lettuce, onion, and tomato! I further added tartar sauce to give it the taste that I love. I really enjoyed mario's catfish sandwich and would consider ordering it again. Being that I had a good ordering experience, I would surely order from Chicago's Home of Chicken & Waffles again whether it be Uber Eats delivery or takeout. Everything was great From the delicious food to the outstanding, friendly service from Danielle D I stopped coming for awhile due to lack of friendly service and food taking too long from kitchen to table. Glad it's not that way anymore.. looking forward to dining here again!

Visited the Oak Park location after hearing they were just as good as the Chicago location and needless to say it held true and they didn't disappoint! The entire experience from service and food was amazing. My server was Alicia and she was so welcoming and very attentive. For dinner I had the 2 piece chicken white and catfish combo special and everything was well seasoned and plentiful. I'd highly recommend this location and will return to be seated in Alicia's section.

We're here visiting and this location was recommended to us! I'm glad we tried it. The ambiance is everything!!!!! The service was excellent! Shout out to Aniyah (I thonk I spelled it right)! The food was great as well. My only complaint would be that my catfish was a little too hard but I managed. We're definitely going to come back before we leave!

Last month we visited the Nashville location and had an amazing experience. We flew in for my birthday to try this location. We weren't sure if they were open as it was only the staff sitting and what appears to be one customer. We waited to be seated and one of the team members consulted the hostess that someone was at the front after observing us for a few minutes. Interesting enough, the hostess told us she was setting our table and she would be right back. She put the menus down and went a chatted with the cooks. We took that as our hint to try somewhere else. I'm so disappointed because I had such high expectations. Otherwise, it was a nice location ambiance wise.

Great spot! Cute inside, we were able to get a table for two on Sunday a little after noon no problem! Service was a bit slow but we were in and out in a little over an hour! I got the Tonyas choice, which came with two drumsticks and a thigh and one waffle! 1/4 dark lb of meat. I also got gravy on the side and this made the dish! The gravy is addicting! I love how thin the waffle is and the meat was perfect, I loved the crispy pieces! Can't wait to come back!

Overpriced, but don't mind for good soul food. Food was good, not the candied yams though. Collard greens superb, however I have terrible seafood/fish allergy. When I told the server she looked at me weird, so I elaborated to her to please alert the kitchen because sometimes cross contamination can occur. She said to me no need because she's 100% certain they keep fish and chicken separate. Needless to say within 30 minutes of leaving I started breaking out in terrible hives, then projectile vomited everywhere. I was so sick from an allergic reaction my boyfriend had to come save me and give me medicine because I couldn't even drive anymore. THEN when I tried to call them as soon as I said "can I please speak to a manager" I was hung up on. And on top of that the server was terrible in general constantly had to flag her down she never checked up on us nor was she attentive. The music was also too loud and the bus boy was the best thing about that place to be honest.

I have not been here since the former GM, Ed, left... and for reason. I'm glad I stopped by today though. My server, Alicia Barnes, was excellent; welcoming, informative, and attentive...not only to me, but to the party of 14 celebrating an 80th birthday! I will likely come back, sooner!
