Fun and inviting cafe with loads of comfy seating and tables. A great place to meet up with friends or work. I visited the cafe early around opening 645am and there were just a few of us. Peaceful place to sit with my computer. I had my usual, soy latte. Nice coffee although would love a bit of latte art. Barista was welcoming and attentive.

I'm updating this review and downgrading from an already not-good review. Today, pressed for time, my husband and I went here and the plan was for. him to order a quick cold brew and then head to work. At first, the barista poured him a kombucha. Then he poured the wrong cold brew. Then he started pouring the correct one, but it ran out, so without saying a word, he abandoned it and headed to the back of the store. Then another barista started mouthing off saying the first barista was slow, and then my husband said "I'm never coming here again," and then she said snidely to the other customers waiting in line that we were in a hurry. The service here is always inconsistent and spotty. I'd rather go to Whirlwind, Blackout, or Broken Tart!

Wanted to do a little work at a coffee shop and i randomly stopped here . I can honestly say that I am happy I did. The ambiance is fresh and light. There are tables outside on the patio and plenty of seating inside. I do wish there were outlets where I sat, that would my only issue but there are outlets at the table near the window. But staff were great and helpful. I will be returning

I'm not a coffee snob, I just want my coffee hot :-/ Out of 6 times I've managed to get 1 hot cup of coffee. Americano out of the coffee dispenser is consistently lukewarm. Started ordering more expensive choices, pour overs, that don't come out of the big can, still hit or miss (last time they forgot my order and it sat there, getting cold). No refund or offer to remake the coffee. Frustrating for something simple. I love the ambiance, and setting/vibe, servers have been really nice, but it seems such a low bar to serve hot drinks, well, hot.

The experience with Fairgrounds is a little hit or miss. Depending on who is taking your order they might get your order wrong. The method of their pour over coffee is great, very unique. The machine for espressos, lattes, etc is solid and the workers know how to use it. It has either has been in use for quite awhile or could use a deep cleaning though. I'm not enough of an espresso aficionado to know which for sure. The ambiance is also a reason to try it and repeat. Definitely a quiet enough spot for reading or studying, and also has some seating for a small group of friends. (Plus, outdoor seating when the weather is permitting.) I have not tried the food yet, but the menu looks tasty and based on how they make their coffee I'd imagine it tastes pretty good.

Food is decent, prices are a little high ($11 for an egg and bacon breakfast sandwich), and the music is obnoxious. I get that most coffee shops don't want you to hang around all day, but even being here for a coffee date would be unpleasant, because the music is that loud. And it's music that's high-paced with lyrics. I'm going to go hide in a cave from overstimulation now.

I got coffee a few times here during my stay in Oak Park. It seems like a great place to get work done, with lots of ppl working or reading inside. The coffee was alright, and they always were out of whole milk when I came by, but overall seems like a solid option if you want a quick coffee in the area.

We stopped here on the way home from Chicago. It's a nice corner coffee shop in a nice neighborhood. The interior is pretty spacious and well decorated. The yellow touches are really nice; overall it was a fun interior. It also felt family friendly. Aside from coffee and tea, they had a good amount of food items. We ordered a cappuccino and a Vosges hot chocolate to drink. We also ordered grilled cheese sandwich for my son, and a matcha chia seed pudding for me. The latter is something that seems to be getting popular and I just had to satisfy my curiosity. The cappuccino was okay. Certainly not the best I've had, but certainly not the worst. Thankfully it didn't have a burnt-to-a-crisp taste like the capp I got from Dunkin Donuts a couple months ago. I only had a sip of the hot chocolate, but it was rich and delicious; my wife enjoyed it. My son didn't mind the grilled cheese; he ate about half of it. The chia seed pudding was delicious! I didn't know what to expect, but I loved the flavor and consistency. If we're ever in this area again, we'd definitely revisit Fairgrounds.
