Not a single bite that was anything less than delicious. From the moment we sat down the hospitality was incredible. Nice dinner date spot.

3 for dinner last tonight at the "highest rated restaurant " in Rosemont. Starters, were the tuna and oysters, followed by the mushroom soup and salads. Dinner was 10 oz filet, 2 of their signature (exclusive to Gibsons) steaks with fries and sprouts. We were happy to enjoy our meals mainly based on each other's company. Lots of catching up and war stories. All was well until we were interrupted by the compulsory managers inquiry asking about our meal. Me with my strong moral compass replied "it's ok". Needless to say this was not the reply he wanted to hear. He asked again, I replied "it was ok". He continued to badger me and I simply replied "I'm done with this line of questioning and please leave us alone." After he left, I apologized to my group and defended my reply. They of course agreed that they felt the same way. So let's break down what "ok" meant tonight. Oysters that were served still connected to the shell, last night we had oysters around the corner and they simply slid off the shells and into our mouths. Salads were ok, tasted just like a salad anyplace else, so they were "ok". The steaks were served and they do make a showing of asking you to confirm acceptable done-ness which is fine. My steak was "ok", it was advertised as being marbled so I did expect some fat and that was evident by its remains on my plate. Was it acceptable? It was "ok". Brussels sprouts were pretty salty and that was the overwhelming flavor of that side dish. They were "ok", not much different than what's "ok" at my house. The fries were a nice shoestring cut and not at all greasy. My friend's filet looked good, but I did see him discreetly spit out some fat or grizzle. So our conversation continued about the ratings of our meals and I said a solid 3 out of 5. And, for me to have a meal of 5 stars, that would mean I would the willing to get on a plane and fly back to ORD just to eat here again, that's not happening. So, we were treated to an ice cream dessert to try and save the evening. Bottom line, if this is the "highest rated restaurant " in Rosemont, maybe I was just here on an off night. I can also say the managers response really threw a wet blanket over the night and it will be the topic of conversation for the rest of our convention. Thanks for reading this far down the page. Another visit, great service, great food. Had the 10 ounce fillet? Medium rare, the NY strip, medium rare, seafood tower, tomato and mozzarella salad. Baked potatoes need to come much hotter from the kitchen, hard time to melt the butter, sauté mushrooms were great, along with the cream spinach.

My husband and I made reservations to Gibsons for our anniversary after receiving a nice gift card to the restaurant. Based off of the hype in the reviews for the Chicago cut, I knew that's what I had to order. My husband has been here before (my first time though) so he recommended that we get the twice baked potato, and my insistence on having something green on my plate led us to also order the Brussels sprouts. My steak was good, not the best steak I've ever had, but cooked to my desired doneness so I was happy enough with that. My husband ordered the farroe island grilled salmon which was absolutely delicious. The twice baked potato was very good, I'd liken the flavor to potatoes au'gratin. The Brussels sprouts were a little bit of a let down, I feel like they could have had more maple flavor. We also ordered some cocktails; I got the coconut Mai tai and my husband ordered the blackberry smash. Both cocktails were good, but nothing special. All in all though, I'm glad to have finally checked out Gibsons! The staff was very friendly and helped us to make sure our special day went very nicely.

I honestly did not expect to enjoy my experience at Gibsons. I had some friends that invited me to come with them so I did. I hate stuffy/fancy restaurants and I'm not a steak eater so I assumed that I was doomed. I was so, so wrong. When you walk in they have a wall of photos of famous patrons that have visited over the years. There's a very crowded bar area up front that a lot of people were waiting to sit at. We were able to be seated rather quickly even though the restaurant was very busy. They start you off with bread and a bowl of BBQ potato chips, which I thought was incredibly random. These aren't store bought chips. They were obviously made fresh and ours were still warm. The thing you have to understand about Gibsons is that while the prices are high, everything you get is enormous. We ordered a sweet potato appetizer and it was the size of a coconut. My club sandwich was at least 3-4 sandwiches with a large portion of wonderfully seasoned fries. My friends didn't miss out on steak like I did and they were quite happy with their meals. The service was absolutely impeccable. I can't remember our waiter but he was a nice young man with a mustache who was so helpful and patient with all of our questions (including what to do with the lemons that came with the hot towels after finishing). We are already talking about coming back on our next visit.

I didn't get pics of ours side or steaks but the meal and service were excellent. The desserts are big enough to share with the whole table and we had 7 people. Our steaks were all cooked perfectly as ordered and very tender but be prepared, beef prices are at record highs and so are the prices here. I'm sure we will return next year when we return for an annual event at the Embassy Suites

We had a work happy hour here, and the private room with its own bar was great! I had a spicy margarita, which had a weird taste of perfume so I switched to wine. The sliders and pigs in a blanket were a popular passed app. We then sat for dinner, and the oysters and shrimp cocktail were fresh and tasty. For my entree, I got the filet mignon and a ceasar salad. The filet was disappointingly a bit dry even though it was cooked medium rare. My ceasar salad was average too. The fries and Brussels were nice sides with the meal. Overall, our experience was great, and gibsons is always a good time.

Service is amazing here. The whole staff is wonderful. Unfortunately, my grandmother fell and slipped because the floor was wet. Staff were very apologetic about it. Gibson's is known for having a good selection on good quality beef cuts. They even offer grass fed meat from Australia. They also have a good amount of sides. I found that Gibson's is an old traditional steak house. I would not compare it to Texas Roadhouse or Outback. The quality here is a lot better. It is old and tradition;can tell by the sides they have to offer. Their food is excellent, but it didn't "wow" me. Again, nothing wrong with their food, but I found it alright. They cooked everything right per request. There is so much competition in Chicago so this would not be my number 1 pick. It is quite expensive here as well. I wouldn't think it is worth the price. Everyone seems to love it! It is always busy.

Classy and nice place but the food is not worth the price. My 14oz filet was cooked medium but completely burnt outside. The soup tasted like tomato out of a can. There are much much better steakhouses for the same prices in Chicago! I do not recommend.
