# Holiday Inn & Suites Chicago North Shore – Comfortable Stay in Skokie, IL

Holiday Inn & Suites Chicago North Shore, located at 5300 W Touhy Ave, Skokie, IL, offers a blend of comfort and convenience for travelers. The hotel needs some tender loving care. Repairs, paint, and deep cleaning. We were given an ADA room on the ground floor that we didn't ask for or need. It had a huge picture window that didn't open, looking out to a busy walk way. We had to keep the curtain closed because of all the passersby looking into our room. There was a sloped tile entry into the shower, maybe originally for a wheel chair but then they blocked it with trim. The ramp was very slippery when wet, which I slid on, tweaking my back. Thank goodness there were grab bars so I didn't fall all the way down. The beds were comfortable, but the room and bathroom had only an appearance clean. The "closet" was not able to accommodate shirts, pants, or dresses without them crumbling at the bottom, leaving everything needing pressing. We will not be staying at a Holliday Inn again, they make Motel 6 look nice.

The property is not at all what the pictures online on Expedia showed and I expectrd a much better room for the price I paid for it. My hotel room had ceilings that were peeling , holes in the walls and a continually running water in the bathroom tub. If I hadn't arrived at such a late hour from my flight, I would have left even earlier than 7a the next morning. Thankfully I was able to book another hotel which was way better than this one. I barely slept at all. The bathroom was also very small and it was a little noisy in the middle of the night. The customer service was nice, much much nicer than the room but I didn't feel safe at all. I will never stay at this hotel again.

We stayed for two nights and as diamond elite IHG members we expected more. Our room was dated and the tub was dirty. The ac unit was loud and the typical amenities were missing. The beds were standard though a bit small. We will choose another IHG property next time.

I attended an event at this location. The ballroom is huge! There was a very visable sign for extended parking. It is easy to walk in check in. Then find ones table and attend event. So many activities! Bar staff was friendly, raffle table had wonderful prizes and wait staff was attentive. The lights in the ballroom were incredible! I had not been to Holiday Inn in years and I had a pleasant experience. Thanks!

This is a large property with a lot of amenities like pool, gym, restaurant and bar, etc. but it is in bad need for renovation. The hotel smells musty through the property and in the rooms. The bathroom in my room smelled especially bad like mildew and a public restroom. One positive is that the wall unit heater is very quiet so it doesn't startle you awake when it kicks in in the middle of the night. Front desk customer service was awkward as they didn't really smile or make eye contact. Overall location is good with a lot of restaurants and bars nearby but I would recommend staying elsewhere as this hotel is tired and needs an upgrade.

Absolute garbage customer service. We have stayed at Holiday Inn for over a week now. Per their own policy, the room will have a thorough clean after five days of stay, clean sheets, deep clean of the bathroom and room. We have been trying to get someone to deep clean the room. We were assured it would be done today. I am attaching the pictures of the ridiculous job that was done today. When I spoke with their front desk last night, the attendant said she texted the manager as well. We are in the middle of a strenuous move and this is another level of stress that is being added. I will be contacting someone at the front desk, but I am not hopeful that the issues will be resolved

I gave 2 stars just to be nice. Overall I would not stay here again and would not recommend for anyone unless it is the only choice. Pros:lots of restaurants and fast food in walking distance. Fridge works very well like my water got icy cold. Air conditioning worked well. Room was cold upon arrival. Cons: my room was small and the ceiling is also low that felt like a motel. Maybe it used to be motel... The room had a slight smoky smell. Bathroom is very outdated with old faucet that makes squeaky sound. And the ceiling has yellow stain spots. Don't know if it mildews or From smoking. It felt very humid and dump in the room that bed and the blanket felt moist. This is not hotel's fault but there was a middle aged man sitting by the hot tub staring at young girls who were swimming in the pool. Also noticed spots of blood on the floor and as I looked closer I realized that the man's foot was bleeding and he was putting a towel under his foot. So I immediately got out of the pool or and never be in a hot tub. One , he was so creep and two ,I have no idea why he was at the pool with injured foot. Also water looked cloudy and the pool was not heated. I was so grossed out and also 2 woman who appeared to be parent for the girls had not noticed this yet so I went to the front desk and explained the situation and to have them clean the pool. It is not only dirty but it is a serious biohazard. It gave me a chill to think lots of people swam in there. I started to think this area is not a good neighborhood. The front desk girl who checked us in was friendly but other staff seem cold and not care much about guests. I assume they probably get so many complaints from guests.

Do not stay here! Had a bad experience with room 254 and never received my towels from front desk. The air conditioner was leaking water from the ceiling down to the curtains and made a damp wet spot on the carpet. The room smelled very musty and uncomfortable. Had to use an air freshener car attachment to rid the musty smell. Mold growing in the corners of the bathroom. We should have asked to switch rooms. I had higher expectations of Holiday Inns...apparently this one was poorly managed. The jacuzzi had pvc pipes coming out of the top. People were using it to go in and out of the tub. Not sure why it's there but it's bound to break. Ladies at the front desk were nice. Hence why I'm giving this place a 2 star.

Was in town for business 11/10-17 and stayed here. It was fine, a place to sleep, easy parking. For the price, I knew what I was getting a run down, older hotel, clean enough, not much room to complain. I was not happy that they moved my rooms in middle of stay without my consent. They went in my room, moved my belongings to another room. I came to hotel and my key didn't work at 3017...they said no you have been in 3002. I said no phone call, email, nothing? You just moved my stuff. I said something ain't right here. I checked out and went to another place. If you have to, ok. But I would not stay here again.

We enjoyed this hotel. There were some loud guests near us briefly late at night, but that happens sometimes. The beds were fairly comfortable. One of them had a dip in the middle, which was a bit annoying but not really a big deal. The room appeared clean and the water pressure in the shower was good. It supplied shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Our toilet handle to flush it got stuck down and the toilet was left running for a while without us knowing while we were not in our room. This didn't affect us much, but we did have to remember to pull the handle up after flushing, and I'm sure it's wasting water and money. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. You need a wrist band to be in it, as people were apparently abusing this. I didn't see anyone actually checking.
