After my trip to New Orleans I craved a seafood boil and coming here I felt like I was right back in the Big Easy! The place was nice and easy almost reminiscent of the place where I had seafood boil in NOLA. My waitress was very friendly, attentive and helpful and when the food came out and I dumped it all on the table in front of me...was immediately back in the BIG EASY! And it was SO SO SO good. Nice to know that if I'm ever missing the seafood boil in NOLA I got a spot not too far from me.

Another fun spot in Skokie. Six members of the Evanston office and Mrs. E. joined me in seafood bliss. A great success even though one of these folks doesn't eat seafood! The menu represents a down home Southern flare, for sure. Seafood boils are popular here. It's easy to order, too. Choose your seafood, like mussels, crawfish or clams. I went with the obvious, headless shrimp. Then pick your flavour. I chose garlic sauce but was definitely tempted by the Cajun and the Lemon Pepper. Finally, your level of spice. Sadly, I've been ill and had to go no spice. You could avoid all that and order from a handful of fried baskets. The sides you can attach are alright but nothing fantastic. The gumbo with rice and the sweet potato fries were big hits at our table. The best part is the atmosphere. Great music and decor. The graffiti walls for your thoughts while you wait. A very upbeat crowd but not too loud. A wonderful night out for sure. The service was a bit slow, but they were busy. We were so caught up in conversation that it didn't really matter. I would return because of the ambiance, but I'd really like to try another seafood boll. 09/25

I really feel like having crab legs, so I was going to cook them myself, but after I got to the grocery store and saw that they looked pretty pathetic, I decided to go to the boiler. So, I got a whole order of king crab legs for $68, a half order of snow crab legs for $24, and a half order of shrimp for $13. I've heard that this place is really good, and it looks like everyone is enjoying themselves. The food looks amazing, so I can't wait to get it home and eat. I'll let you guys know how everything was later. It's actually takeout today, so I will be posting pictures and giving you guys an update afterward.

I took my boyfriend to Boiler Shrimp & Crawfish since we were craving Cajun seafood, and he had never tried this place before. We ordered a full headless shrimp, crawfish, snow crab, and a half order of mussels. For sides, we added 2 corns, garlic noodles, and a Diet Coke. The total came out to around $135, including the tip. We got seated right away. After ordering and getting our food, we noticed our snow crab was missing. We let our server know, and after checking, he said it was on its way. We asked if it normally comes out separately, and he told us that it actually never got printed on the ticket. Halfway through our first bag, the snow crab came in a separate bag. They didn't bring any tools to crack the crab legs, and since no one checked in on us, my boyfriend got up to ask for them. Unfortunately, on his way back to the table, he cut his leg pretty deep on a sharp edge of the wall near our table. The way the table is set up, there's a hidden edge that comes out awkwardly, and if you're not looking down, it's easy to run into it. We let our server know, just so the staff could consider adding a cushion or some sort of padding to prevent others from getting hurt. The food was really good as usual. We both preferred their trifecta sauce over Tasty Crab's, which says a lot. The headless shrimp and mussels were our favorites. They were very flavorful and worth the price. The crawfish were on the smaller side and not our favorite. The garlic noodles were a bit too cheesy for our taste. The cajun fries were pretty good, but got soggy pretty quickly. The meal itself was delicious, but the overall experience was disappointing. We'll likely stick with the headless shrimp and mussels only if we go back, but we both prefer The Tasty Crab for their service, good value, and deals. Small details like customer service really make a huge difference to your dining experience. P.S. They go by market price, which is listed on a blackboard on the wall. The day we went: Snow crab: $45 for full (2 clusters), $24 for half (1 cluster), Headless/Head-on shrimp: $22 full, $13 half, Crawfish: $21 full, $14 half, Mussels: $18 full, $12 half.

Me and my buddy went yesterday and I gotta tell you all you can eat crab legs on Tuesday. It was spot on baby. There was a line out the door when we left and I'll give this a 10 out of 10 ambience was awesome.

This was my first seafood boil experience and it was soo dang good! My friend brought me here because she said it's her absolute favorite out of all the places she has tried in the Chicagoland area. The vibe inside is fun and inviting. Staff was kind and helpful! I ordered my friend's go-to order which is: 1/2 lb crab legs, 1/2 head-on shrimp, and corn. We got the trifecta flavor with medium heat. The flavor of the marinade is sooo goood I could've drank it!!! Beware your hands and mouth will smell like garlic for the next couple hours after eating here. We also shared cajun fries. I'm still on my journey of trying more seafood boil places but this place was a GREAT start! I will be back!

Exceptional! Everything from the food to the staff. We've been patronizing this joint for years and it's a fav. BYOB for those that do not know. Tip the staff well because they work hard to give us all a truly sensational seafood meal. Don't get it twisted though...the wings are wingin'! Don't take my word for it...just go.

A friend suggested that we go to The Boiler Shrimp and Crawfish for dinner. This cozy restaurant specializes in seafood, and we had a healthy variety of their offerings. We had their specialty seafood boil. We got a half pound of shrimp and sausage boil. We also tried their fried calamari, fried shrimp with cajin fries, crab cakes, hush puppies, and garlic noodles. All of the food exceeded my expectations. These were the best hush puppies I've ever had. They were thicker, so they weren't sure it like I've had at other places. The crab cakes are super fresh and delicious. I was full, but I kept eating. I couldn't help myself. Once you get your food, the servers don't come around very often. I highly recommend The Boiler Shrimp and Crawfish!

If you like flavor, this is the place to go. My friends have been raving about this spot for their generous portion sizes and delicious food at a reasonable price. The decor here is quite cute with lots of seafood themed items around the walls and the bib itself. The spot gets quite busy, but it's more cozy than cramped really -- with a surprisingly reasonable noise level. The prices are on average 20-30% lower than what I see for comparable items around the Schaumburg area with generous portions. The food all comes out fresh and hot without being overly seasoned, with preparations that are quite flavorful and fit with the cajun theme. Service is adequate, enough for how busy they are - but they server doesn't come out super frequently. For me, all items were fairly good in general though some items stood out more than others. The half pound shrimp boil with pork sausage was a surprisingly filling combo for only $15 with a good tender texture to it and lots of flavor, particularly in the sausage. The fried calamari is as good as any sit down restaurant with a super generous portion that can be shared amongst the table. The garlic noodles had a good strong flavor of garlic and with the cheese and butter, went great with other dishes. The shrimp basket was very generous for $10 with a bunch of shrimp and a large helping of fries. I like the thicker batter on this shrimp which provided a nice satisfying bite and tons of flavor. The fries, I was torn on -- since I am not sure if I really like the smaller cut versus something a bit more meaty. The crab cakes were fairly flavorful, I think made with better than average crab. It's a bit more pricey and I'm not sure I'd order it again in a subsequent visit over other options, but it was a good dish and the preparation was nice. Similarly, I'm not sure I loved the hush puppies. They were definitely large and had a nice flavor. They might have been a bit too large for me and I would've preferred maybe a little more seasoning and for the inside to be a bit less dense. Overall though, delicious food at a reasonable price. You won't be disappointed eating here whether you're enjoying the seafood boil or any of their side dishes or appetizers.

I have been here a handful of times already and the food has always been delicious. The service is also an important factor to mention. Through the years that I've been coming here, the service has always been consistent in efficiency, promptness and friendliness. I have only tried the trifecta sauce in mild heat level. The pieces of shrimp and crab legs were big and meaty. The garlic noodles and wings were both outstanding. They have daily specials (as of July '23): Mondays- Raw oysters are a $1 each; Tuesdays- All you can eat crab (not sure of the restrictions and details on this); Wednesdays- Buy 2 get 1 free on shrimps and crawfish . The dining area, the hand washing station and the bathrooms have always been clean. Depending on the day and time, parking can be challenging sometimes since it is located in a small strip mall. The last time I went (July 2023 on a Monday), I went on their page on yelp, and I joined the waitlist. I was seated right away once I got to the place. It got really busy quickly so I'm glad that they seated me on the last table available. I will definitely continue to come here. My experiences here were all positive and very satisfying. Keep up the good work guys! Oh and by the way, It's BYOB (no hard liquor allowed).
