It's all about the butcher shop! If you're looking for something really special to wow a crowd, Casey's has an amazing selection of meat and seafood. Particularly things you may not be able to get at local grocery stores (maybe excluding Whole Foods from that statement, but sometimes even they don't have what you really need). They can usually order something even if they don't have it on hand. We got a beautiful crown roast one Christmas, turned out amazing with the Bobby Flay recipe we used. They've ordered me things like duck, monkfish, steaks. All superb, meaty selection. The deli here is worth mentioning too. (I can't remember if they do fresh made sandwiches?? I think so). The grocery part of the store isn't really much. But the butcher section is second to none and the main reason you come here. Certain parts of the city are flush with excellent meat shops but in the suburbs, Casey's is your hook up.

I've been here twice and both times I've been had. The first time I got two plates of ribs. Got to the counter to pay and it was $75 more than other places. I was sticker shocked and didn't think to ask the price off the pork belly I ordered either. Went back the next day for pork belly and asked what grade of meat the ribs are. He said everything is choice. I asked why the high price it's not even prime. He was nice and said "he just works there". I asked the price on the pork belly and it was two dollars a pound more than the most I have ever paid in 50 years. At that point it was no shock to me, no explanation and higher prices. I told them I won't be coming back. Nice people and nice place either way.

It is the go to meat market/deli in Western Suburbs. I visited there yesterday and 1 of the deli items purchased was Boars Head Tavern Ham .The man who sliced it on the machine folded each slice in half and layered them from left to right so that the ham slices were attractive and not stick together. I have never had anyone machine slice ham like that in a Deli. If you were having a buffet, you could just transfer it to a platter. I have been shopping there since 1976 and they never disappoint, It has the atmosphere of an old fashioned meat market and super customer service.

This market was recommended by my local family. This was my first time here. Casey's Market was established in 1969. We arrived here on a very cold windy day on December 23 prior to Christmas where the morning temperature was -9 degrees without the wind chill of -30 degrees. We were here to pick up some sandwiches for today's lunch and prime rib for tomorrow's Christmas eve dinner. The floor was slippery from the melting snow. The place is clearly popular and busy with customers queuing up to make their purchases. The meat department had a separate line to wait for service. I firstly picked up a 3 pound prime rib from their meat department followed by four of their sandwiches, some chips and dip from their deli section, which had a separate line. My total cost for the sandwiches was $56. Our sandwiches and the prime rib were tasty. I enjoyed my spicy Italian sub. I would return here for more prime rib or sandwiches.

I come here for their Bell &Evans chicken breast. I have never had a moister bird breast than here. I also got my Thanksgiving turkey breast here, which I ordered on the phone. The guys here at the butcher are knowledgeable. They know their meat and they know how to prepare it and provide advice. The meatloaf is good too. Pricey though. Everything is pretty pricey. I pay because I know I get good quality and service.
