Rare afternoon free so searched up a place via InKind app. Google search looked decent- advertised Mon-Fri 3-6pm happy hour with half off appetizers and 5$ flatbread. Hey it's my chance to try it. Asked the waitress when we got there to see if we can take the happy hour "half off" appetizers as part of take home order. She asks the manager and says no you have to eat here for the half off appetizers. Ok, we get seated. Only a few tables and restaurants was relatively empty. Asked again before ordering, what's included in half off special and where are the flatbreads on the menu. She's asks someone and says they no longer have the flatbreads. Ordered two of the appetizers and asked for the third time if they were part of half off special. She says yes. Ordered a pizza. Then added another appetizer which kitchen got it wrong and had to correct. That's fine. Now bill comes, slowly, although the place was slow. Appetizers were charged in full. She gets all defensive and says that's only for Saturday. And today is Friday. Google search clearly states Monday-Friday 3-6pm - she gets really upset and says Google is wrong and they have no control over Google. I catch on that shes knows this game way better than I do. What happened to that critical info of happy hour appetizer special is only on Saturdays, when I asked about it three times. I'm the fool here. Good thing is when I asked for the manager, she quickly corrects the bill- thank you cool lady. I'm not mad. It's Friday and this unentertaining game won't ruin my precious Friday evening. Although I still gave you 25% tip, girl your game was just mid. Food was certainly mid. There are better options in the area. Please don't let my tip lead you to believe that I'm not onto your game. Just don't do it again.

I showed up on a Saturday night around 8pm to eat in but the door was locked but TVs and lights were on and staff walking around inside. As I was walking away and walking back to my car, a worker came out the front door and asked if I was ordering take-out or dining in. I told him I was dining in. He said the restaurant was closed for dining in. I asked if this was a new policy and he said "No just for tonight." Weird.

I grew up eating Salerno's pizza at the original location on 16th & Wesley in Berwyn, and have tried virtually every incarnation since. So believe me when I tell you that if you don't want to drive to St. Charles, this place comes the closest to that great pie you love and remember.

Dined on Thursday, Sept. 11. We were a group of 5 ladies. Only 2 other tables of diners during our whole meal. We were seeing a play at Western Springs Theater at 7:30. We arrived at 5:30. Food was not delivered until 6:30. A chicken wrap, chicken overcooked and dry, came out first, before 3 salads and a beef sandwich. Wrap sat politely at the table uneaten until other food was delivered 20 minutes later. Beef was the last to come out at 6:40. Those ordering salad were told the kitchen ran out of eggs. Salads had very little chicken minus eggs! Service was mediocre, although pleasant, probably because the server didn't want to deliver all the bad news. We were very rushed to get to our play, leaving the restaurant at 7:00. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this Salerno's location. Restaurants have bad days, but this was beyond that.

Love the pizza since 1974 when we lived in Hillside, IL. So glad they are in Western Springs because our daughter and family live here now. We visit whenever we are in town. Keep making that delicious pizza! Service is great. Ambience is for all to enjoy.

We ordered the cheese curds, pretzel sticks, two 10" pizzas and an order of spinach lasagna. The apps were totally fine. The pizzas were undercooked plates of a pile of dough. One was ordered extra thin with extra sauce and easy cheese, while the other was "traditional" crust without specifications on sauce or cheese. They came out exactly the same. Both were one of the worst pieces of flavorless pizza that I have ever had. There was nothing interesting about the sauce, the cheese was thick and undercooked, and the dough wasn't even fully cooked. I felt like I was eating pizza in the middle of nowhere at a gas station. The spinach lasagna had good flavor (according to my mom) but was completely burned on the bottom. It was mostly inedible. This will be the last time that we will be ordering at this place.

Salerno's has excellent pizza and is a go to for both takeout and dine in. Having just recently discovered it I will be back routinely !
