I rented a car for a friend. It was clean, well maintained and my friend had only good things to say about it. Since it was late in summer the rate to rent it was very high but that was expected

Staff is super nice! There's also no payment required until you show up for car pickup. I like that flexibility. The cost of car rental is more expensive than the airport but it is also much closer to the cruise docking than the airport (~7.7miles). This place is, however, much farther than I thought. It was about 1.2 miles from where our cruise docked. The last bit of walk also has some uphill. There's no shuttle to pickup or drop off from the port. I would recommend it if you have multiple places to go in Juneau. Otherwise, it's not worth spending $200 for a day of rental while you can just take the bus ($2 pp) to the Mendenhall glacier. The walk from bus stop to mendenhall glacier is 25 minutes while the walk from cruise ship to Avis car rental is about 45 minutes.

About half mile from cruise ship docks. We were in a cruise so we walked over. The rates were higher than what we booked online months before but was told that the online number was really just an estimate. There was some computer issues so we had to wait for over half and hour to get the car. All the cars were electric vehicle. You will also pay a 25$ fee for them to recharge the vehicle. Full charged vehicle can go about 240 miles. We pretty much only used 1/4 of charge because Juneau is only so big. Lol. Did spot a deer near by before pulling out so that was pretty cool.

We had a great experience with Avis while renting a car in Juneau. All of the cars are electric and we were given a Chevy Bolt which was perfect for our day exploring Juneau. We were thrilled with Addy, who was very professional and shared highlight of Juneau to help plan our own trip excursions.

We intentionally made reservations for this Avis due to the other yelp reviews. As indicated on a couple of reviews is approximately a 20 min walk from the pier. We thought while we're in the area we definitely need to rent a car from them. sure enough the young lady at the desk delivered. It was fast, effortless ..she even had maps for us to go visit the local sites. went to Eagle Beach, Mendenhall glacier and St Theresa's shrine. Filled up at the Safeway gas station before returning the car that evening. Thanks Avis

Woman with an attitude shows up 15mins late for work - to a very long line of renters. No apology, just a big attitude with how she's in charge. No other staff onsite during a busy port day for summer cruises. This is about 20mins walk from the dock, so a good location.

Cruise this summer- late with this review. This office is a short walk(1/2 mile or less) from the cruise ship dock. Great alternative to get to Mendenhall Glacier with 4/5 people. We were able to see the Glacier, tour the rain forest on the west peninsula, the fish hatchery, and town in the time we were docked. Staff was great and highlighted a map for us. I did take my own GPS, so that helped.

I was in Juneau as a stop along an Alaskan cruise. Instead of fighting the crowds lining up for bus excursions, my family and I decided to rent a car and see the surrounding area for ourselves, on our own schedule. I booked a car from this Avis rental agency and was quite impressed how accomodating they were. We had initially reserved a Toyota RAV 4, but felt we needed something a little larger and they provided us with a Toyota Highlander which was perfect. The woman who provided me with directions from the cruise ship and assisted me in filling out the forms, also provided us with a written guide; that she had created herself with google map pages of all the different highlights in and around Juneau. She was great! I wish I could remember her name so I could personally thank her again.

They are great. So helpful, the car was clean and newer model. The gals working the desk were Awesome! I wanted to take them with me and have them be our tour guide. Good job juneau!
