A preferred hotel for our company when in Wichita, I decided to give this a try. The thing about historic hotels is that they often have a very charming facade, lobby and common areas that shine through but once you get in the elevator, the charm can quickly wear off. Not at all true with this Ambassador Hotel. Located in the historic area of downtown Wichita, this Ambassador Hotel is located in what appears to be the newly emerging biomedical campus under construction next door. The portico and lobby are very inviting and decorated to give you the full holiday experience. The front desk attendant wasn't exactly charming at 11pm but she wasn't rude either. She was a bit distracted with her night audit work but got me checked in and upgraded and off to my room in short order. I had room 1010 and I would highly recommend this room any time you stay. This is a multi-room suite with a full living room, a dressing suite with dual vanities and a jacuzzi tub, separate shower and a master bedroom that was quite large with a walk-in closet. So much space for one person! I contemplated cancelling my other reservations and stay there all week, but I didn't. Lots of windows allowing sunlight in the morning and a mini bar with snacks if you have the munchies and want to pay top dollar for the option to eat and drink at your leisure. The hotel has a restaurant and bar and I believe it seems they are well-reviewed although I don't visit either. Parking is in the multi-story parking deck adjacent to the building and likely serves multiple businesses in the area. I think it was $18, no biggee. The only thing that I was cringing over was the sofa. Lighter colored fabric showed off some definite staining that made me want to avoid at all costs. Everything else seemed clean and well cared for. I'm going to give it a four star review for now and try it again another time to see if it deserves more.

If you are looking for a hotel in Wichita that has more to offer than just a place to sleep, then you definitely need to visit the Ambassador. This hotel has incredibly comfortable beds and immaculate showers, a fantastic restaurant/bar on site, and great amenities. Did I mention the speakeasy in the basement? Head downstairs to enjoy speakeasy vibes with live entertainment. The Ambassador is located downtown Wichita and is within walking distance of several popular local businesses. I'd highly recommend staying at this hotel if you are planning a trip to Wichita.

We had booked our last night in Kansas at the Ambassadors to be close to the airport. So glad we did because we ended up staying an additional 2 nights because of the polar vortex in January. This hotel is a gem in Wichita! Great service, beautifully decorated, yummy cookies ( and cocktails) in the evening in the lobby, friendly staff and great location. I can't say enough great things. Bonus they have a free shuttle to the airport and Steve the driver that drove us said he would have picked us up from Homegrown when we couldn't get a lift back. A definite resting stay for us!

From the moment I called to check parking height restriction, Jenna set the bar pretty high. She not only answered the questions I had, but begin to make sure my stay exceeded my high expectations. Then checking in Trevin continued the hospitality and above and beyond service. As a solo traveler, I can not remember the last time, service exceeded my expectations. These guys definitely did!!! Thank you for an amazing experience!

When we drove up there was a man sitting on a chair in front of the hotel. He didn't greet us or stand up. We had to ask if he was the valet (which he was). He asked if we needed a luggage cart but didn't help us with our luggage. He gave the impression that he didn't want to be there and we were an inconvenience. The check in clerk was very friendly and helpful. She took us to our room and when we went in, the first thing I noticed was an empty Shake Shack cup sitting on the desk. The clerk did everything to make it right for us by offering us a different room and a free round of drinks and apps at the bar. The room was nicely appointed but on closer inspection there was black mold growing along the seam in the shower wall and the light colored grout in the tile shower floor was badly discolored. The shower head provided a pitiful stream of water. The bed and pillows were comfortable. On check-out everyone was friendly but again, the valet made no attempt to help with our luggage. At this price point I expected a little better. I felt that this hotel was trying to be something it really wasn't.

Excellent hotel. Staff makes it superb! Always friendly and welcoming! The hotel is autograph collection so it is expected to be top notch. Great Italian steakhouse restaurant on site, good size and very complete gym. Common areas are perfect, clean and fresh new design. Rooms are ample, comfortable, to rest and work. Bathrooms are perfect and walk in shower is flawless. Great water pressure and good space. TV size might have been a miss for such great room. But just being picky. The speakeasy bar at the basement is fantastic. It give you a feel of exclusivity. Drinks are on higher end price but they are good. Also keep in mind to make a reservation in advance, not only is it a speakeasy, it is very popular with guests and patrons from other hotels nearby. So rarely will you allowed in with no reservation specially of you have a group of more than 2.

Beautiful hotel and easy to get to. The room and bathroom were very large and very well decorated. The beds were luxurious. The speakeasy was awesome, great drinks and food. It was nice to afford a fancy hotel for a change, this would have been twice the price in Los Angeles. My only critique is parking should be free as a guest, and room service was cold.

I get to Wichita every now and then for business and this is my go to hotel. The rooms are large, and have all the amenities that you expect from Marriott autograph, including robes, coffee, and toiletries. The hotel also includes a very nice restaurant and two bars. The second bar is a speakeasy in the basement that requires a secret knock to get in! I love that. The staff are very friendly and extreme accommodating. They have a shuttle that will take you to wherever you are going and often times it's somebody at the front desk that just goes to drive the van. you are welcomed with Midwest hospitality and a cup of coffee every morning. There's not a lot going on in downtown Wichita so it's very important to have a great hotel!

This place is so fun! It's very clean. We had some issues streaming on the tv but the front desk figured out the chromecast was plugged into the wrong hole (100% the hotels fault) so just a heads up if that happens to you. Affordable valet, walking distance to JINYA, Dockum bar is in the basement, and there's a free shuttle (an Escalade) that will bring you anywhere within 5 miles... you bet we did it all! I do not like hotels at all. At all. But this one changed my mind.

Wichita wedding. The Ambassador was a pleasant surprise for us. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The rooms we big and comfy. The decor was modern and clean. The air conditioner was quiet and worked well. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. A great safe haven after a long day of travel. (bonus: Starbucks only 1/2 block away!) Another perk was the speakeasy in the basement (Dockum). After a night of dancing at the wedding we, headed to the basement for a nightcap. Then back up room. No uber required. Lastly, they offered a shuttle to and from the airport. What a great service! Decent price-point. I've spent more and received less. Overall, a must stay if you're traveling through Wichita or have a wedding near the downtown area.
